Hi, Grisha. I'm from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a little town of Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain. Manolo Sanlúcar was born here, in my town. I'm only 14 years old, but since I can remember, I love each style of flamenco, I don't mind if the style is a fandango, a sevillana, a bulería.. for me each style is fabulous. And now I only can say: OH, MY GOD. You're a really good guitar player.
The truth is you can get much of this music on "tab", but this guy is well enough advanced that he should be able to pick up what he wants by hear. Whether he did or not isn't that important, most players at this level can, pretty normal and not worth comment. To those of you blown away by this guy, come to spain, there are kids that can play just as well and they make you feel it much more. This guy is very good and deserves credit, but... educated yourselves on what is flamenco.
To all of you, post some videos of you playing Paco's tunes?....Go on I dare you......I bet none of you will, because none of you can....Grisha has taught himself a song from one of the most influential Flamenco players of all time, possibly by ear, all of you people who fault him only do because you can, hiding behind computer screens, the man's dynamic and style is amazing whether he is playing someone elses song or not.......you are all fools amongst your own circus.
@XSpiderMattX “It is not the critic who counts...The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred with sweat and dust and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who...spends himself in a worthy cause; who if he wins, knows the triumph of high achievement; and who, if he fails...so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.”
It doesnt really matter who is better, this guy is one of our days modern tallents in classical-spanish guitar!! I look forward to hearing compositions of his own, I dont really want to listen to another version of asturias, compose!!!
Very professional and precise and as I was able to read from some , a quite clean sound. I wonder if it's pure talent or practice or both at the same time.
@4tt1 No body plays well with out hours a day upon years, some pick up things faster than others, some who are slower turn out to be more creative players too. What do you think people are born playing like that? It doesn't matter if it was their uncle who taught them or if they were classicaly trained, all good players practice. A lot. Their natural talent comes from somewhere in between the practice. Paco's dad made him practice 10 hours a day, says Paco himself. Took him out of school.

The difference between Grisha and Paco is, that Paco can play this stuff with metronome, with a band, acompaniar it or show others how to accompaniar it and most important Paco could play u 10 different versions of it all perfect in one hour, because he can improvise and vary his falsettas. Can u show me a vid of Grisha with a dancer or a singer. Ask why not? He is mostly classic as his father was, flamenco means improvisation, playin with singer, improvise and to be in compas even with 20 people.
@roflswamp6 You really have no idea about flamenco man, maybe you wanna look their bios up before you even dare make those dumb statements, if it wasnt for Paco de Lucia, flamenco would be different nowadays, thanks to Paco flamenco improved in so many ways. Tomatito is good, do you even know where did he learn from? SURPRISE!! He learnt from Paco de Lucia.
Grisha's got an amazing technique, some may dare say he's as good as Paco, but then again, with all my respect Grisha is not even original.
@joelvela Well in Tomatitos case he is like Darth Vader, he may have learned from him but now he is the master. And Grisha has better Picado and cooler facial expressions. and they arent dumb statements they are opinions, of course paco de lucia is good, but I have never really liked much of his music or playing. there is something about it that is just missing. Sabicas, Paco Pena, Manolo Sanlucar and Grisha's Playing make me feel good.
@roflswamp6 I know not one player in Spain who prefers Tomatito to Paco, not even Tomatito. but to each his own. The truth is most players since Paco are still in his wake or shadow. Moraito, who isn't technically the best does have a beautiful, mystical, original gitano style. V.amigo and Tomatito are just doing Paco in their own way, but this guy on the video has got rigid conservatory all over him. Sorry to say, he wouldn't know what to do , if thrown in to the fire with real flamencos.
@JoshSwartzberg Whatever.. This player makes a darn good job. Most players wont ever get this far and still b satisfied...He is a elite player whatever you put on him. I have been playing for 15 years and had good fun, but as good as this one ,,,Nooo...Shoot them all so i will be best

Dud, your tecnique goes almost beyond perfection, but, remember, theres a lot of feeling within Flamenco, not only speed and quality sound, feeling, dude, remember... accents, links and stuff... they gotta sound natural. Anywyas, you are really good at this.
BRAVO! Incredible playing, you're up there with Paco! :P I can't understand these negative comments on your videos. Jealous losers! :) You're going to go faaaaar my friend! :)

I'm not sure about religion, but my belief in a source, or God is based on the whole purpose issue. I find it unimaginable that we just happened. The idea of spontaneous manifestation is disturbing to me, and, similar to the religion idea, also raises more questions than it answers; not the least of which is "what's the point?"
Purpose, intent, design, reason, intelligence, ideals, good, beauty, ad infinitum.... I see where you are coming from, and my agnosticism prevents me from denying anything you say; I don't presume to know any of it. That being said, I also, due to my agnosticism, am not obligated to agree( perhaps that's why some call soft agnosticism fence sitting). Problem with fence sitting is you get it from both sides lol.
I don't understand people complaining about Grisha Goryachev's play, and that "he doesn't feel it like Paco" or something like that. Guitar playing can be described by hand movement, a robot could play better one day than Paco. It's all about technique, everybody can FEEL it, feeling is never a problem, only you have to be able to play it. Paco is good, but let me tell you: Grisha Goryachev is FUCKIN' close to him, if not better.
@andrejkiss No one will ever be better than Paco and a there is never gunna be a robot that can play better, its not only about the technique you dont know what your talking about. When you listen to Paco there is something else about his playing that makes it so much better
@xiAresx There will be a robot one day, that can play EXACTLY like Paco, and nobody will be able to tell the difference. In fact when you're listening to your mp3 player it's not Paco but a machine, but that's no different from a robot which performs it on a REAL guitar in live. Nobody is perfect, even Paco. I bet this robot will be able to play better than Paco. More speed, more accuracy, more clearness, even more feeling.
@andrejkiss How can you compare a living breathing artist that can create, to a mindless soul-less automaton incapable of even appreciating what it does? Sure perhaps a machine may be able to some day produce a sound similar(or even identical) to Paco De Lucia or Andres Segovia, but where is the virtue in that? It wouldn't even be producing the sound; rather, it would merely be emulating it.
@Tarclasp Not to mention, ask any artist the value of a mistake.....the only mistake a robot can make is if there is garbage in the code. A robot(as far as I know) is incapable of evolving past a mistake; an artist thrives in that realm if his heart is pure.
@Tarclasp -cont- make mistakes, and certainly can correct it later, see the error messages (for example windows'). Mistakes? Do you think musicians REALLY like mistakes??? They dedicate their entire life to eliminate mistakes, especially flamenco players. Machines can learn the very same way humans do (check out neural networks). The human brain is a very complicated computer, which we don't completely understand yet. But we made a huge progress, and one day there will be a machine,
@andrejkiss Good points, but I never said an "artist" liked mistakes; rather, I said that an artist (whos heart is pure) can appreciate the value of it.
Deep blue is a good example of the leaps and bounds that processors have made, however it is still the result of immense human drive and work. didn't create itself nor does it have one ounce of will-power, it can't appreciate its accomplishments or dedicate its performance to the pleasure of its audience.
@Tarclasp Human didn't create itself either (nor did God, because there's no such thing). Humans evolved, just like machines are evolving. I dont think that it's relevant that humans design them. When a human appreciates music or dedicates its performance to the audience, I think, does nothing, which a robot wouldn't capable of. Pleasure is a very describeable state, and it is the drive to do things. It's like a reward, which drives you to repeat the action which resulted in pleasure. -cont-
@Tarclasp (For example I reply to you, because I enjoy arguing with someone who challenges my ideas.) Btw Deep Blue is an example more of the developement of algorhytms, not CPUs. There are softwares which aren't designed, they are learning machines (neural networks). The process of the learning is designed, but nobody has a clue how do they (the result of the learning process) work, especially the larger ones with 10000+ nodes and connections. And the process is very similar to human learning:
@andrejkiss do this, because it's good, don't do that, because it's not good. The machine has multiple instances of input-output pairings, and it has to figure out how to create the output from the input by reorganizing the nodes and connections randomly. After each reorganization, it compares "his" calculations with the real ones, and if it's more like the real one, it keeps the modifications. Then an other random reorganization, an other test. And it keeps doing this trial and error.like human
@Tarclasp About the appreciation: it is an emotion to drive you further, to do better, to make the results worth the efforts. It can be described very scientifically, and I think it could be described as an algorythm. I think, in a complicated machine, we would find something like appreciation, or it's correspondence.
@andrejkiss Wow, it sounds like you know your stuff in this department. Thanks for all the interesting info of computers.
The only reason I brought up the concept of mistakes and emotions and appreciation is because these elements are what I personally see lacking in a machine. Sure a machine is a valuable tool, and really a work of art; but, I think comparing a machine to a human is academic and abstract because in reality there is no comparison. A machine is a tool, a human is a being.
@Tarclasp "Deep Blue made many moves that were based on understanding chess, on feeling the position. We all thought computers couldn't do that." Susan Polgár (a fellow hungarian :) ) "This time it earned the win," Campbell said. "It played beautifully."
@andrejkiss The God issue is a can of worms, and honestly is a subject I steer clear of for the main part. I will say for the record that I do believe but that I am a soft agnostic. That being said, couldn't one argue that humans are to machines as a God is/would be to humans?
@Tarclasp Ok, I think it's time to admit: I'm a machine, a tool if you like. I am not joking, altough I could, despite of being a machine. To be more precise: I am a survival machine, a tool for reproducing the DNA encapsulated in me: a replicator and carrier. Every being is for the sake of its descendants, various tools were evolved to make these being more effective in reproducing themselves. One way is to grow muscles. Another is to be fast, or small and in great numbers. -cont-
@Tarclasp Yet another is to be able to adapt to the possible situations as good as possible. This ability is called intelligence. The information on hoe to build such a machine is encoded in the DNA, in fact, the DNA builds the first little factories, which build larger factories, which builds larger factories, etc.. which builds a human. Intelligence is only a tool for a human to survive, a human is only a tool for generative cells to survive, and they are a tool for DNA to survive and reprodu-
@Tarclasp ce. Every emotion, every instinct has its own function, and they ensure the survival. Music, and the love for music is evolved to increase cohesion in small groups. We don't really need it now, but we still have it, and that's OK. If I had to design a machine capable of forming society with other, similar machines, I would implement the equivalents of these feelings and instincts to ensure socialization, and I would implement two basic states:
@Tarclasp One is to inform my little robot to avoid something, one is to make it repeat other things, which are good for it (recharging, or making other machines). But humans have similar states: joy and pain. Both can be described with neuroscience and chemistry (endorphins). (That's why there're junkies. It's a mistake in design of humans, because heroin isn't actually good for humans, but when we evolved, there was no heroin, so it was OK to base joy on the similar opiats, like endorphin).
@Tarclasp The question of "Why am I?" is a philosophical one, and, I think, would never be answered. That's why all philosophies start with such axioms as "Existence exists." or "I think, therefore I am.". BTW religion is an answer to this question, but the price is huge: 1 additional question, which is harder to answer then the original one: Why God exists? (Surely the creator of something is more complex than the creation, and harder to explain the origin of it.)
@Tarclasp Why couldn't I compare human to machine? Just check out Deep Fritz vs Kasparov. Kasparov swore that the machine is alive and using elegant and beautiful tactics. Why is that? Because highest possible excellence is what humans after, and in chess, machines are closer to perfect. Why does Kasparov see a human in the machine? Because human chess players search for the best move, and that's what machines are doing, only better. It's an illusion. About mistakes: machines certainly can
@xiAresx cont. You can feel whatever and as many as you want , in the end, it comes down to the motion of the fingers. And when it comes to motion, robots win.
You simply amaZe me Grisha... You have been playing for a very long time and with proper instruction. With your passion for music, you have made it to an elite guitar level. It must feel so Good!
you are all ignorants, comparing this guy with paco de lucia and manolo sanlocar and so on JAJA, this guy is a gymnastic, why he is not recording CDS with some famous artists? haha this is gymnastic, this is not music and you all have no ide alol gringos go listen rock % roll
@joelvela if it was to me , you've understood me wrong, I didn's say that Paco is worse, i've just said that Grisha's video appeares on the top of the "cepa andaluza" searching list. Paco is the master , no doubt about that !
I'm new to this bloke. He's positively scarey. I hope everyone appreciates how hard Pacos pieces are to play. This man makes it all look like an utter bagatelle. I cannot but be impressed.
even if you are playing guitar only for like three years you will easily be able to play anything with your eyes closed. A little hint I would like to give beginners is also to cover their eyes when they are playing (once you know what your doing). But that's not the point. He nailed in on the spot.
quien ha pulsado en " no me gusta"??. Siempre hay algún gilipollas envidioso por ahí que no tiene mejor que hacer.

Why copying the improvisations of Paco?
I do not understand...
opus88888 1 year ago

and he is much younger than Paco
andrejkiss 1 year ago
I don't understand people complaining about Grisha Goryachev's play, and that "he doesn't feel it like Paco" or something like that. Guitar playing can be described by hand movement, a robot could play better one day than Paco. It's all about technique, everybody can FEEL it, feeling is never a problem, only you have to be able to play it. Paco is good, but let me tell you: Grisha Goryachev is FUCKIN' close to him, if not better.
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@andrejkiss No one will ever be better than Paco and a there is never gunna be a robot that can play better, its not only about the technique you dont know what your talking about. When you listen to Paco there is something else about his playing that makes it so much better
xiAresx 1 year ago
@xiAresx There will be a robot one day, that can play EXACTLY like Paco, and nobody will be able to tell the difference. In fact when you're listening to your mp3 player it's not Paco but a machine, but that's no different from a robot which performs it on a REAL guitar in live. Nobody is perfect, even Paco. I bet this robot will be able to play better than Paco. More speed, more accuracy, more clearness, even more feeling.
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@andrejkiss How can you compare a living breathing artist that can create, to a mindless soul-less automaton incapable of even appreciating what it does? Sure perhaps a machine may be able to some day produce a sound similar(or even identical) to Paco De Lucia or Andres Segovia, but where is the virtue in that? It wouldn't even be producing the sound; rather, it would merely be emulating it.
Tarclasp 1 year ago
@Tarclasp Not to mention, ask any artist the value of a mistake.....the only mistake a robot can make is if there is garbage in the code. A robot(as far as I know) is incapable of evolving past a mistake; an artist thrives in that realm if his heart is pure.
Tarclasp 1 year ago
@Tarclasp -cont- make mistakes, and certainly can correct it later, see the error messages (for example windows'). Mistakes? Do you think musicians REALLY like mistakes??? They dedicate their entire life to eliminate mistakes, especially flamenco players. Machines can learn the very same way humans do (check out neural networks). The human brain is a very complicated computer, which we don't completely understand yet. But we made a huge progress, and one day there will be a machine,
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@andrejkiss Good points, but I never said an "artist" liked mistakes; rather, I said that an artist (whos heart is pure) can appreciate the value of it.
Deep blue is a good example of the leaps and bounds that processors have made, however it is still the result of immense human drive and work. didn't create itself nor does it have one ounce of will-power, it can't appreciate its accomplishments or dedicate its performance to the pleasure of its audience.
Tarclasp 1 year ago
@Tarclasp Human didn't create itself either (nor did God, because there's no such thing). Humans evolved, just like machines are evolving. I dont think that it's relevant that humans design them. When a human appreciates music or dedicates its performance to the audience, I think, does nothing, which a robot wouldn't capable of. Pleasure is a very describeable state, and it is the drive to do things. It's like a reward, which drives you to repeat the action which resulted in pleasure. -cont-
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp (For example I reply to you, because I enjoy arguing with someone who challenges my ideas.) Btw Deep Blue is an example more of the developement of algorhytms, not CPUs. There are softwares which aren't designed, they are learning machines (neural networks). The process of the learning is designed, but nobody has a clue how do they (the result of the learning process) work, especially the larger ones with 10000+ nodes and connections. And the process is very similar to human learning:
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@andrejkiss do this, because it's good, don't do that, because it's not good. The machine has multiple instances of input-output pairings, and it has to figure out how to create the output from the input by reorganizing the nodes and connections randomly. After each reorganization, it compares "his" calculations with the real ones, and if it's more like the real one, it keeps the modifications. Then an other random reorganization, an other test. And it keeps doing this trial and error.like human
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp About the appreciation: it is an emotion to drive you further, to do better, to make the results worth the efforts. It can be described very scientifically, and I think it could be described as an algorythm. I think, in a complicated machine, we would find something like appreciation, or it's correspondence.
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@andrejkiss Wow, it sounds like you know your stuff in this department. Thanks for all the interesting info of computers.
The only reason I brought up the concept of mistakes and emotions and appreciation is because these elements are what I personally see lacking in a machine. Sure a machine is a valuable tool, and really a work of art; but, I think comparing a machine to a human is academic and abstract because in reality there is no comparison. A machine is a tool, a human is a being.
Tarclasp 1 year ago
@Tarclasp "Deep Blue made many moves that were based on understanding chess, on feeling the position. We all thought computers couldn't do that." Susan Polgár (a fellow hungarian :) ) "This time it earned the win," Campbell said. "It played beautifully."
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@andrejkiss The God issue is a can of worms, and honestly is a subject I steer clear of for the main part. I will say for the record that I do believe but that I am a soft agnostic. That being said, couldn't one argue that humans are to machines as a God is/would be to humans?
Tarclasp 1 year ago
@Tarclasp Ok, I think it's time to admit: I'm a machine, a tool if you like. I am not joking, altough I could, despite of being a machine. To be more precise: I am a survival machine, a tool for reproducing the DNA encapsulated in me: a replicator and carrier. Every being is for the sake of its descendants, various tools were evolved to make these being more effective in reproducing themselves. One way is to grow muscles. Another is to be fast, or small and in great numbers. -cont-
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp Yet another is to be able to adapt to the possible situations as good as possible. This ability is called intelligence. The information on hoe to build such a machine is encoded in the DNA, in fact, the DNA builds the first little factories, which build larger factories, which builds larger factories, etc.. which builds a human. Intelligence is only a tool for a human to survive, a human is only a tool for generative cells to survive, and they are a tool for DNA to survive and reprodu-
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp ce. Every emotion, every instinct has its own function, and they ensure the survival. Music, and the love for music is evolved to increase cohesion in small groups. We don't really need it now, but we still have it, and that's OK. If I had to design a machine capable of forming society with other, similar machines, I would implement the equivalents of these feelings and instincts to ensure socialization, and I would implement two basic states:
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp One is to inform my little robot to avoid something, one is to make it repeat other things, which are good for it (recharging, or making other machines). But humans have similar states: joy and pain. Both can be described with neuroscience and chemistry (endorphins). (That's why there're junkies. It's a mistake in design of humans, because heroin isn't actually good for humans, but when we evolved, there was no heroin, so it was OK to base joy on the similar opiats, like endorphin).
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp The question of "Why am I?" is a philosophical one, and, I think, would never be answered. That's why all philosophies start with such axioms as "Existence exists." or "I think, therefore I am.". BTW religion is an answer to this question, but the price is huge: 1 additional question, which is harder to answer then the original one: Why God exists? (Surely the creator of something is more complex than the creation, and harder to explain the origin of it.)
andrejkiss 1 year ago
@Tarclasp Why couldn't I compare human to machine? Just check out Deep Fritz vs Kasparov. Kasparov swore that the machine is alive and using elegant and beautiful tactics. Why is that? Because highest possible excellence is what humans after, and in chess, machines are closer to perfect. Why does Kasparov see a human in the machine? Because human chess players search for the best move, and that's what machines are doing, only better. It's an illusion. About mistakes: machines certainly can

even if you are playing guitar only for like three years you will easily be able to play anything with your eyes closed. A little hint I would like to give beginners is also to cover their eyes when they are playing (once you know what your doing). But that's not the point. He nailed in on the spot.
