  • How ironic that there's an ad before a minutemen doc trailer! Project Mersh indeed! Hilarious!

  • What's with the fucking Tea Party advertisement before the video? Fucking lame. I'll never click on a BlankTV video again. Losers.

  • Everyone called them punk. Thats a ridiculous understatement these guys were jazz funk innovators.

  • I seen the miutemen on halloween 1985.the band were all in costume : d. boon was robin, mike watt was a dead sea captain and george wore a gory mask with his forelock spewin out a hole. there weren't no light show or pyrotechnics tho. it changed my life for sure. I was gettin turned on to punk (or post punk, whatever) but the scene seemed kinda weak. After this show it didn't matter to me what banner you flew. It was about integrity. These guys had it and you felt it.

  • @mbitxtreme that is awesome!! the first song i heard was the cheerleaders cause

it got regular radio play on wfnx boston (1986)

    saw them at the channel

    thanx mbitxtreme

    joel

  • great documentary.

  • my dad knew these guys and grew up with them in long beach CA, great guys & great music

  • why is there even a dislike button?

  • this band changed my fucking life

  • @piledriver89 That band IS your life :P

  • @Stranglehold432 AMEN!!!

  • why does this trailer come with a commercial for the 2011 suv I have zero intention of ever buying?

  • raging at Rolling Stone? I wonder what the National Enquirer thought? translation: Rolling Stone sucks and really isn't worth worrying about.

  • @plasticpeopleburning Spoken like a true punk, Rolling Stone hasn't been relevant for decades.

  • O LOVE PUNK MUSIC BECAUSE IM A PUNK LOL

  • The first time I listened to Double Nickels, I had to scrape my brains off the ceiling and reattach my jaw. I am so pissed that this is no longer available on Netflix. What the hell, Amazon? Usually ships in 2-5 weeks? The entire home video industry can bite my ass.

  • POKPAEK

  • The advert before this video had the Gang Of Four song Natural Is Not In It.

  • did this ever hit the theathers?

  • @TheMasterOfReality55 It played a year or two ago at the Warner Grand Theater here in San Pedro. One of the Econolines now belongs to my neighbors, but I have no idea if it's the one in the film.

  • @PeedroPaula Haha, it might be. If you live in pedro (where I'm from) that is probably Mike Watt's van. Does it happen to have yaks on each side of the van?

  • @TheMasterOfReality55 No, this Econoline has the Brahma bull sticker. Mike mentions it (and my friend Raul) in this video review he did of his new van for Kelley Blue Book.

  • he looks like billy bob thornton today

  • some of us have red white and blue blood,,,,,,my blood runs flannel

the Minutemen are THE bridge between punk and indie and grunge, just way up there in influence and importance to us scumbag punkrockers ,another time and place when music was written and played with passion,no image no censorship no hype no internet no glossy protools just heart, soul, blood, spit, and passion

  • why must a f-ing carly fiorina for us senate ad ruin my afternoon

  • The Minutemen. Now, more than ever.

  • i wish someone could post up AMERICAN HARDCORE clip of his Peter Frampton quote.

  • I was in a drunken haze when I listened

to this band. By the time 'jackass' came

out, the song was too obscure in my me-

mory to recall them. The only song I re-

    membered was 'TOADIES'

  • Im seriously thinking about buying this, its 20 bucks n I hate spending money on material shit like dvds but it looks awesome

  • ow minutemen is fuckin insane!

  • I accually met Mike Watt. VANS WARPED TOUR! nice guy. D. BOON! R.I.P. I discovered D boon was dead 5-6 years later after it happened.

  • god bless our old days

  • beautiful...

  • Damn. . .from Rollins to Flea to Thurston Moore to Mckaye. . .funk + jazz + hardcore punk + insightful yet political meanderings. . .the result? The Minutemen. Such an amazing band. . .

  • IS THE TREE THE MINUMEN GOD????

  • Yes

  • Thank god for that tree.

  • @crassisdead Thank god for D. Boons jackassery to jump out of it onto Mike haha

    ; )

  • Is that thurston moore at 1:25?

    its just i recognized him

  • ya it is.

  • There isnt much out there more dangerous then a smart punk band. I love em.

  • 1:07 to 1:47 you can see a bunch of legends talkin 'bout one of the most incredible bands of 80s....pretty cool...

  • where can i buy this?

  • Rolling Stone that shit wipe of a mag once said that The Minutemen were one of the top ten overated bands/albums aND THIS COMES FROM A SO CALLED MAGAZINE THAT HAS HAD EVERY PIECE OF SHIT CORPORATE CRAP EXCUSE FOR MUSIC ON THEIR COVER! I REALLY WANT TO MEET THESE CRITICS AND ASK THEM IF IT WAS A SARCASTIC JOKE OR SOME DRUG INDUCED WHACKINESS!! GOD I HOPE IT WAS BECAUSE IF IT WASNT THOSE "CRITICS" NEED TO BE TAKEN OUT IN THE WOODS AND REEDUCATED!! tHE mINUTEMEN RULE!!!!!

  • You mean that mag that has the Olsen twins, Britney and the Jonas Brothers on the cover? lol They know as much about music and art as they do about politics e.g. not much.

  • The last time they had any cred was when they had Hunter S. Thompson and Lester Bangs writing for them. How long ago was that?

  • you are very angry indeed, but i totally agree. rolling stone is hypocritical, arse-licking turd.

  • Hell yeah I'm so punk rock--indie, sorry. I only listen to The Minutemen and Brand New. You guys are so close-minded omgomgomg

  • hahahahahahahah

    so rad

  • @mikewines68 anyone with a brain knows that if anything the Minutemen are UNDERrated.

  • @mikewines68 didnt know that my already lo opinion of them has sunk to an even further all time low... ASSHOLES

  • @mikewines68 word bro... always felt like that magazine didnt really 'get' music post-70s. imagine its the sort of mag babyboomer dads read to stay 'in touch' with music (forced to buy print b/c they dont understand what a music blog is)

  • @mikewines68 are you serious? minutemen? overrated? fucking rolling stone.

  • @mikewines68 fIrehose was much better...

  • @Chadfish erroneous. all though fIREHOSE is good - you can not replace D. Boon or the chemistry between him and Mike Watt - they were on a whole other level.

  • @hoganfan5445 You're right. They are two entirely different bands.

  • @mikewines68 what do you expect from Rolling Stone?

  • @mikewines68 SERIOUSLY?! OVERATED? Hanging is too good for some people

  • @mikewines68 more like underrated

  • we jam econo, fucking genius man. few can do it like the minutemen did it.

  • What is the song playing?

  • I'm sorry. I already knew that. I'm an idiot.

  • After my bands set last night this guy came up and told me to listen to the Minutemen.

    And thank god he did!

    They're fuckin incredible!

  • i saw it the other day

  • This is the best band ever. They couldn't have happened better if it had been written in a script. hands down my fave band ever.

  • Minutemen muy grandes e innovadores del hXc gran respeto y admiracion!!!

    descanse en paz D.Boon

  • one of my favorite that's for sure..and a great documentary also. i wish someone would post the entire thing.

  • Arguably one of the best bands to come out from America... actually.. scrap that.. THE.
