I stopped cs at 1.5, then played source about 2 months after it came out, I've been playing ever since, then I purchased 1.6 a month ago, played that for a bit, took me 2 rounds to pick up the slack, then I went to play source and blew at it for a round or two, then went to 1.6, same case. Both games are good, source's hitboxes are a bit screwed up but I'd rather play source. And they say source has mainly bots and less hours per year. well whenever i get on 1.6 all there are is bots... no joke.
