Wow, just watched the movie "Monsters" and credits for music were Jon Hopkins...now here I am just tapping in to some of the coolest ambient/progressive I've heard in years. @MWeyrich1 dont know about the concert ambient list but sure can recommend some artists brian eno (he coined the genre and the term) harold budd (more on the minimaist classical music side though) chihei hatakeyama jonsi and alex stars of the lid boards of canada loscil aphex twin (selected ambient works) and the list goes on, lots more artists to be discovered :)
