  • I've just realized, that the woman sitting at the desk with Ted and Kelso is actually Lady, the Janitor's wife from a later season.

  • This song gives me chills. Dedicate it to my amazing fiance, whom I miss every day. RIP babe.

  • A beautiful human, relative and friend died minutes ago. I dedicate this song to her.

    R.I.P.

    I will never forget you.

  • Scrubs would've dared or bothered to do this in later seasons

  • And you say, be still my love.

  • @SianDaviesgirl yeah i saw it too :)

  • wow.. it's just... wow..

  • Get chills everytime the janitor sings!

  • who is the blonde woman, she's got to be singer

  • @dinche21294 Jill Tracy is the blonde singing.

  • I Love this c;

  • What Episode is that??

  • i want to download this version but can not find it grrr.

  • bahahahhahah 0:48

  • better than the original.

  • 1:04 is this lady, the wife of the janitor??? xD

  • @acharem yes. the same actor

  • @acharem I noticed that too and it bothered the heck out of me. Guess they thought nobody would notice.

  • @troyareyes well actually shows do that a lot. If they bring some actor or actress in for a small role or something and they like what they did with the part then they will keep them in mind if they need another role played later in the show or series.

  • @dyantis1 You have any examples of that?

  • @troyareyes I have never seen it personally, but i was watching a show where they were interviewing people that starred and worked behind the scenes of the sitcom Seinfield. And they was explaining how they will set people's auditon tapes aside if they interviewed for a certain part or got a certain part and for some reason it didn't work out, then they will keep their tapes in a pile to keep them in mind for later and go back to look at them to see if they fit another part they need played.

  • EPIC!!!!!!

  • i love this episode, it always make me cry. but why is the janitor singing to jd.

  • i love the part when the janitor sings to JD

  • anyone find it oddly creepy when the janitor was singing to JD?

but i really love this episode but when she died i was so sad!

  • At 1:27, is that 'Lady (the janitor's future wife)' next to Carla and behind the singing woman? x

  • @teehee017 Yes, it is! Good catch.

  • i love turks voice !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Season 2... Episode: My Filisophy

  • I sadly love it. So much... :'(

  • season 2, episode 13

  • which episode is this, from which season?

  • season 2 episode 13 i think

  • Scrubs is so much more than just a comedy show

  • Well of course. Most of it is comedy, but it's to make you feel better about the tragedies and emotional moments that occur in the show as well. So it's evenly balanced.

  • my aunt passed away today .. I dedicate this song to her ...

  • Good choice of a song. I'm sure she's grateful.

  • thank you ....

  • Wow Scrubs really likes Colin Hay, this is like the third song of his they've used. Not that I'm complaining. :)

  • @VanillaWiteOut, Colin hay is freinds with zack braff, so zack tries to get him featured alot

  • i wouldnt say it is better, it is really good, but i think you cant compare what colin sings to this musical version but i really like both of them=)

  • The wierd thing is that this version is so much better than the original song, not the vocals of course, but the melody

  • true tings papa

  • so, sooooo moving :((( pure genius!!! wordless.....

  • just got the colin hay album its so underated

  • mayb but overkill isnt on it the, this song is on it (Y)

  • this scene always gets me. Especially the part where he says "She gone...are you gonna be okay" and all JD says is "yea" that part always gets me.

  • This is direction perfect. An absolutely brilliant piece off intersplicing from the song back to the world. Definately one of my favourte Scrubs bits.

  • I love the Janitor XD

  • turk is fucking good! :d he's the best!

  • you're right

  • Damnit this scene always makes me wanna cry ;_;

  • anyone know if this is a real song.e.g from a musical

  • This is a real song. It's called 'Waiting for my real life to begin' by Colin Hay, the former lead singer of Men at Work, from his album 'Topanga'. Highly recommended

  • its a song by colin hay

  • it is a real song, Colin Hay sings it

  • yes.. it's real song :) "waiting for my real life to begin - Colin Hay"

  • beautiful singing my fav are Turk and the janitor.

  • love this song, this version and the original, awesome

  • janitor is the best :D

  • love when the janitor sings:D

  • Is that the janitors wife? the one sitting at the desk

  • I think... as far as I can remember. She uses the office on the other side of Dr.Kelsos office that he checked to see if he could make it part of a super large office, after the other side was made into a female changing room. Oh and I'm not just realy sad I just have a good memory.

  • Yep she played a doctor on this episode

  • dude is this from a season or just soemthing they did?:S

  • its from season 2

  • @obobo1 thanks :-) was looking for this

  • Comment removed

  • <3 this always gets me.

  • This is how I feel on a day to day basis.

  • Same here. It's kinda sad, lol.

  • its called "my philosophy" and its

S02E13 and why did you get spammed?

  • i SO love this scene.. its awesome...

  • the girl singing with Tedd and Kelso is the same actress that they use as the janitor's gf Lady.

  • yea! thats what i thought. i just had to check it on you tube but i knew that was her!

  • Is this them actually singing plaese reply. :)

  • What happened, whos the woman who dies - Kim maybe?

    I'm lost, help?! xx

  • she was a patient who was waiting for a heart transplant. earlier in the episode she and J.D. talk about what death might be like and she said she thought it was like a musical.

  • Moments like these will make Scrubs TV history.

  • Damn right

  • such a great performance :) gotta love the janitor part

  • This song makes me want to sing it...

This scene was also one of my favorite song scenes in Scrubs.

  • what about are you having a good time..

    that one beasted.. haha.

  • Agreed :)

  • i love the janitor bit :)

  • This song makes me cry because i had a friend who died in front of me, and she would always sing along whenever she heard this song. She believed that death was like that after she saw that scrubs episode, and at her funeral everyone sang the song.

    :') I really miss her.

  • I'm so sorry about you friend.

  • I've had several friends and loved ones die while I held them, It sucks, This song makes me sad too.

  • Comment removed

  • no... navy overseas

  • Yeah, that's nice. Go away, little one. Things will be more clear once you grow up ... if you ever do.

I've had people die too, and this song, well, it says much.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the audio for this?

  • i think that one of those girls in this is lady (janitor's g/f)

  • don't want to be rude, but I rather doubt it since this episode was 5 seasons before he met her,

  • you gotta admit, it looks and sounds like her

  • it is the same actress tho im unsure if shes the same character other wise she would know that he is very strange

  • It's the same actress - Kit Pongetti!

  • tow hands

  • My Philosophy season 2 episode 13

  • *two hands* :'(

  • *two hands*

  • *hands*

  • *one hand*

  • *two hands*

  • *hands*

  • *one hand* )))

  • Season 2 episode 13 "My Philosophy"

  • sam lloyd is a singer in the blanks which is the hostpital band but they are a recording band as well.

  • what's the lead singers name (real life name ofc)?

  • "I'm waiting for my real life to begin"

That line really touches my heart. And I know that I'm not the alone...

  • Crappy grammar, but you know what I mean :)

  • Even more touching is that this is about Colin Hay himself.

At a live concert, he discussed how he wrote this song as his initial fame (from Men at Work) had faded and he was waiting to write that song that would lift him back into the world of fame that he had lived in before: the amazing feeling of being recognised on the streets and worshiped.

He seemed genuinely sad that this was gone, and that he was now playing in a shabby auditorium in suburban Sydney.

    Beautiful song...

  • Turk has a lovely voice.

  • wo episode is this called??????

  • Oh this is great.

  • is the name of this song " waiting for my real life to begin" beacuse i cant find it :/

  • yeah, by Colin Hay

  • Yeh its by a cuy called colin hay (hes been ons crubs quite a few times before)

    Definately check it out

  • ....wow....

  • Beautiful. I love this song, and I am in love with scrubs. xx

  • poor turk. you can feel his sadness, even in that short segment.

  • omg lolz when the janitor starts singing xD

    he's actually really good :D

  • I love this song, have never heard it sung before or since.

but it really stuck in my head.

  • It's Colin Hay, ex-Men At Work. He showed up a couple of times on the show. This song's on a solo CD of his, w/him singing and playing. It's less elegiac-feeling. Hay played an accoustic "Overkill" on one show, and it shows up on the Scrubs soundtrack. It's really pretty too.

  • This is my favorite Scrubs episode. My new favorite song, too. But only as it's sung here....no offense to the songwriter.

  • I agree. Hay plays this song different, somehow. I LOVED everybody's involvement, the storylines interwoven with her life and death, and the fact that everybody sings FANTASTIC. Really special, and JD's beatific, understanding smile says it all. Too bad this version's not on the soundtrack!

  • This Clip is season 2.

  • what season and episode is this? i'm pretty sure i've got it but i can't remember what season.

and even i agree with you that the first 4 seasons are better, i do think that it should never be canceled, but they should try harder to make it as good as it was though..

  • This scene made me cry.

  • when she flatlined at the end i did get kinda teary, but now i'm seen this countless times and all i see is brilliance!

strangely too good to get emotional :P

  • Am I the only one who thinks that the first 4 seasons of Scrubs are just far better than the last couple of seasons they've put out?? It's like in the newer ones they are trying too hard to make you laugh instead of just letting it happen like it did in the beginning of they show!!

  • Like most shows it goes down hills you longer they run.

  • nah...

they got complaints so now they're trying to racapture the zanyness of the earlier shows.

  • i agree. ):

they should have canceled it after the 5th one.

  • i cant remember....how cum elliot dosnt sing?

  • She says in the DVD commentary that she has a terrible voice... you can tell she's pretty weak in My Musical, but at least she gave it a shot.

  • Sarah Chalke apparently has a really horrible voice. They had to put it through a voice machine to make it semi-decent in "My Musical." She's still awesome, though.

  • Elliot didn't sing because you can't spell

  • esta serie es de verdad grandiosa

de PUTA MADRE...espero ver el fin...

  • The kanitor is a pretty good singer if you listen to the times he does

  • And of course Carla and Turk's tango thing <3 :p

  • this really is one of those shows that you can totally get obsessed with

  • lol its true

  • I absolutely agree.

  • the woman in the middle. That's Lady=D

  • It sure is.. :p Janitor's Lady.

  • Yes, same actress, but is it the same character?

  • I don't know.. Perhaps she used to just be an extra and then they made he into a character? Also in that clip it slightly looks like something's going on between her and Ted- At least that's what I thought because he puts his hand on her shoulder while singing "I already have a plan" or something xD.

  • Yeah, and in the newer eps it doesn't seems like she works at the hospital, and according to this episode, she was working on a project that would keep her at the hospital for several years :)

  • Isn't it great being a Scrubs freak and able to discuss things like this hehe:p? Have you seen the musical episode? I LOVE it. "Everything comes down to poo..." etc etc =P

  • Yes, that 1 is great. Love "Guy love" and "Plan for tomorrow"

  • Season six episode six wehoo i know it by heart :P

  • This is one of my favourite endings

  • i love this ending, its one of my favourites, very moving

  • I think the janitor sings his one line beautifully.

  • true

  • my favorite part is the janitors say be still my love to JD

  • its just a joke tag

  • is that LADY in the background(janitors GF)

  • I was thinking the same, i think it is.

  • im glad im not the only person who thinks so.

  • it is her

  • do u mean the women whose singing with ted and dr kelso

  • yes her, its nice that they brought her back and gave her a name.
