Matt, the gun sound effect is in the director's later cut, which is can also be seen online (and includes his original score). The main advantage of that later cut, besides a higher video resolution, is that it gives Shaun Mahone, who plays the young graffiti artist at the end, more moment. However, for a couple of reasons, I like the more ambling rhythm of this cut, which is the director's original, intuitive cut (under deadline).
