However I don't like the "sexy amle dancers". Evil spirts are supposed to look scary and demonic. These are sexy men who look like strippers. In other productions, such as the Vienna State Opera in 1985 with Araiza/Raimondi, the "demons" are sexy girl dancers! Very wrong! I like lots of Gothic supernatural drama for Faust - demons and angels

To nigolito's French comment, true. Bryn Terfel does NOT have the voice for the Devil Mephistopheles. He has the voice for Don Giovanni and even Jokanaan in Salome but the Devil role calls for more fierceness and "evil". Ghiaurov perfectly fits the role. Angela Gheorghiu's Marguerite is MARVELOUS...very intense

WHAT a CREEPY anti-christ! Pregnant girl being stalked by some thing that's been watching her for months - of the other hand desperately praying for the return of the wealthy noble student, (he's gone with the soldiers, to the war, really!) who's head is so far up his pride as to overlook this little scene (I just wanted to know if she would really stay faithful). She is surrounded also by townspeople who have seen his money and will quarrel with hers. See the Morillo and Radaković interp.

@VolkgartenBySquirrel I am christian but i can see in the church happen dirtier then that and it is just art projection of people's vision... so many pastors take money and doing adultry Sir just enjoy what we have and think little bit more how we can help people whom this video is rigth and church is nothing...

I have never been a fan of A. Gheorghiu. Mostly because of all the press and hype surounding her which is of course not her fault. She certainly sounds great here. I must admitt!
