@HMATclan its not necessarily heat, but usually the heat is responsible.

Its the soldering holding the gpu onto the motherboard that melts, so gpu connection is loose.

i used to own a xbox. the shit broke on me 6 times. it broke so many times that microsoft said fuck it, let just give him an xbox elite so he wont have anymore problem. but i still had problems with the elite. it kept on freezing. so thats when i said fuck xbox, im gettin a ps3. i love my ps3 and the games i have for it. xbox had some ok games but none that i really liked as much as ps3 games.

Xbox 360 had a recall last year. If you look at the back of your Xbox 360 you should see a sticker. On that sticker is a date. That date is the date of when your xbox 360 was made. If your Xbox 360 was made about 6-8 months of today ( November 08 2007 ) you shouldent get the Ring of Death
