Yeah I heard about that I was disappointed. So how expect to track stealth aircraft. The MEADS UHF Surveillance Radar can track stealth aircraft since it got cancel. So does it the PAC-3 MSE was design to shot down stealth aircraft also?
@SilentEagles PAC-3 MSE is the missile round. MEADS actually uses PAC-3 MSE missile. The only difference is that it is a more lightweight, mobile system compared to Patriot launch platform, but the missile rounds utilized are the same PAC-3 MSE rounds.
France and Italy already down with their own S-400 which is SAMP-T. The SAMP-T fire the new missile which is Aster 30 Block 1 to be introduce this year. An also the SAMP-T radar system are Arabel 3D multi-function, radar system, Ground Smarter 1000 S band multifunction radar, & M3R.
@ResiusOnline The Radar it uses the can track 6 targets at a time compared with the mim-104 uses the AN/MPQ-65 that tracks 9, but here is the difference with the S-400 it connects to all AWAC's, friendly air-crafts, other radar sites, and can use all of them to track and shoot down, the US AN/MPQ-65 cannot communicate with friendly air-crafts shown in the 1991 gulf war and 2001 invasion of iraq.
@TheMilitaryTactics That would be incorrect assessment. The Patriot PAC-3 Conf-3 upgrades along with PDB-6.0+ deployment completes interconnection of data-link with Air Force, US Navy Aegis, JLENS, Sentinel and other compatible sensor platforms.
We are still heavily upgrading Patriot complexes here in USA. And lot of upgrades completed and being conducted have been on network-centric warfare capability with data-link.
@blahdy21 Well for the Data link for the Patriot it will not be able to perform as well as the Russians as they have had it for decades before, but yes I had given you a mis-information about one thing (and so i will send you the link if needed) but the 40N6 can track 100 targets and will be able to detect at 600km, and also using a new method of guidance it will not be detected until very close to the engagement.
@TheMilitaryTactics The long range 40N6 missile does not track 100 targets, an active radar seeker on a missile does not have the power-aperture product nor processing capacity of that size.
And as for data-link on Patriot not performing as well as Russians, in your dreams.
Also the "new method of guidance" you are talking about is Seeker Aided Ground Guidance (SAGG), a form of Track-via-Missile (TVM) variant of semi-active radar homing.
It is actually the US that first started TVM guidance and SARH with mid-course inertial data link. Aegis Combat System was the first major SAM system to extensively utilize such guidance method. S-300's first 5V55 series of missiles were entirely command-guided, just like SA-2. It wasn't until 5V55R that changed it into TVM.
@TheMilitaryTactics The "400km" missile used by S-400 is the 40N6 series missile with active radar seeker. Most S-400 and S-300 PMU deployments you see today are equipped with class of 48N6 missiles, ranging from 150 to 240km.
The 40N6 is not used as widely, is designed specifically to kill non-maneuver targets like AWACS and Tankers and stand-off jammers. The 40N6 is not designed to destroy fighters, iIt is completely useless against tactical fighters.

Hey is there MEADS in there also? MEADS aka Medium Extended Air Defense System.
SilentEagles 10 months ago
@SilentEagles Note, just Patriot system.
We could do MEADS in the future, but our understanding was that it got cancelled just recently and is still a few years out for development.

@ResiusOnline S-300 out performs the patriots and the S-400 just gob smacks all. S-400 range 400km , speed Mach 12.
TheMilitaryTactics 1 year ago
@TheMilitaryTactics
No it doesn't.
Range isn't everything, you forget than the S-400 can only track a low number of targets at a time compared to the PAC-3.
For full details, ask blahdy...
