Alex Harvey did rock, no doubt about it. But I think that the anouncer laments about the fact that Harvey retired and reluctantly intoduces AC DC. Silly fool... he just announced one of the greatest and longest lasting bands in history.

The thing you have to remember about early AC/DC is that Bon was a man of 30 when the band broke through and had been fronting bands since the late 60s. The Young brothers - talented as they were - being merely boys in comparison.

Bon definitely gave the band a professional edge and had the stagecraft well-honed. He was the only band member (at the time) articulate enough to give a serious interview. His lyrics were delivered tongue in cheek yet never strayed into the puerile territory.

Bon's the shit!! Saw these guys about 5 months before Bon died, when they still weren't known in the U.S (I had been listening to a bootleg of the "Let There Be Rock" album since late '76 or so I think. The concert featured, in order, TKO (booed off the stage); AC/DC, who frigging rocked the crowd; Nazareth; UFO, and Heart as the headliners. Although I went to see AC/DC, and I wasn't really a Heart fan, I nust say they put on a good show. But for straight ahead rock, it was AC/DC all the way.
