If Goku fought Itachi hand 2 hand with his eyes closed he could win, but if he ever made the mistake of stopping to charge a spirit bomb or kamahameha, or slowed down or opened his eyes for a split second, Itachi would have 3 ways to kill him already ready.

@BasshuterZ I know what it means, I'm a DBZ fan myself. My point is that strength doesn't matter when you're trapped in another dimension that your opponent has complete control of. It wouldn't matter if Goku could blow up the entire universe with the snap of his fingers, if he got trapped in Itachi's Tsukyomi, he'd be a dead man. DBZ may be great, but people overexaggerate it when they call it the best. The animation and sound sucks compared to todays anime's, and people really need to lay off

It may be a classic, and the others might not exist if it didn't, but things have changed. Technology has improved greatly and DBZ isn't at the top of the list anymore. As far as I can remember, Goku has never fought a person who can trap his mind an another universe where he can't even move his own body, he's having his eyes rips from their sockets, and seconds become weeks

Yes Goku is unimaginably powerful, but that doesn't mean he'll be the best forever. Hell, in order to kill Buu he had to borrow the life energy of everyone in the universe and have his power restored with the dragon balls. In a technical sense, Buu was stronger.

@SoulofaDeity Well Itachi doesnt have the strongest genjutsu, Yakumo from the Kurama clan clan (Episode #203) Her talent in genjutsu is completely irresistible, so much so that only knocking a person out cold has any chance of awakening them from it Furthermore, the genjutsu is so powerful that it literally convinces the brain to copy anything that happens to the victim within the genjutsu, making it possible for her to kill her opponents with genjutsu.

@ManelinhoAraujinho SPOLERS Itachi never wanted the eyes. He loved his brother more than the village, and couldn't kill him. Itachi hoped to make his brother strong by provoking him. Furthermore in the inevitable battle between them, Itachi only pressured Sasuke enough for Orochimaru to come out so he could remove the horrible cursed seal. He ends his already drawn-out life by giving Sasuke his powers. He also "shares his powers" with naruto before the fight though it's not revealed what it is.
