These guys did not invent the solar powered pool pump. This is a pump that is manufactured by Lorentz which is a German company. It is distributed by American West Windmill & Solar.
This looks like a good system. It may be a harder sell than a two-speed pump due to greater initial cost and longer payback time, but in the long run it would be more econcomical.
The automatic shutoff is a seperate issue. VacMate, Stingl, and Stratum are all Safety Vacuum Release Systems (SVRS) that could be added to any existing circulation system.

What about automatic shut off. If some one become trapped by the main drain.
