I know Surya and Vijay are best mates, i like them both, but i dont like Vijay's recent films, which are nothing but boring due to repetitive storyline and no variations in acting by Vijay. He only seems to be putting effort into dancing (which he does beautifully), but i go to the theatre to watch a good film, not a dance show.

I dont understand south indian languages. But few of my best friends (offcourse tamilians) visited me and eventually we went to see "Singam" movie. I am so impressed with this movie and overall quality of the movie .... Surya was wonderful .. very few bollywood actors could match his aggression and actions. no, he needs to keep his B&C audience happy. They wont like films like VA, Sillunu Oru Kadhal, Rakta Charitra becuase they deal with emotion and they dont have much of the commercial elements. So Surya is thinking in advance, needs to feed these people with some masala flick and is moving one. But luckily he doesnt do it every time, he does a variety of films.

i used to be a vijay fan when i started watching tamil films in 2004, but then i saw Anniyan, Chandramukhi and Ghajini in 2005 which kinda changed my perspection of Tamil Cinema (i was very cynical about it), and i was awed by the acting skills of Vikram and Suriya, and Suriya has since then changed unbeliebably so much, while Vijay has been doing the same kind of roles (except Sachein). Lets see how his next one fares, lets hope it different.

i am tamil, but i wasnt actually interested in Tamil Films before 2004. I onlly started to watching them with interest in 2005 onwards. But i did watch older good tamil films on DVDs, thats why i like Friends, Poove Unakkage, Kadhalukku Mariyadhe, Ghilli. But now i hate his ATM, Aathi, Villu, Kuruvi, Sura, etc. All boring films. Which is why i've shifted to Surya (VA, Ghajini, Kaakha Kaakha, Pithamagan) his films are AWESOME.

@trishna147 If you liked Anniyan, I would recommend watching other movies by the director, Shankar. "Mudhalvan," "Indian" and "Sivaji" also follow the theme of bettering India. I don't know if his other movies do or not, because I haven't seen them.

dont know to be honest. We can only tell after the movie's released. And also, by looking at the stills, there seems to be a lot of similarities (like the heroine is a reporter, there is a village belle and a sister, and robin hood type hero) to Azad. BUT, i'm not saying its a remake, im just saying its similar - from what i've seen so far.
