American Gangster. Now this film is mawkishly bad. Not BAAAD, as in Kick-ass, but Bad as in Banal, as in embarrassing, hackneyed: Crowe's thick Australian accent creeps through in all the wrong places, his acting is anything but credible. This flick makes Machete look like a serious melodrama: I find myself laughing at the film's flaccid attempt to take itself -( worse, it's audience) - seriously! It's Goodfellas with a labotomy, and that's being kind! Denzel tries, but he's a flake.
