this is obviously an anti-drug propaganda package. when lsd went mainstream many people were afraid that a water supply would be a target for attack by a mass dose to numb a city. the govt soon found out that water basically killed the potency of the drug, therefore giving it to the soldiers in a drink of water would be useless. these soldiers were told to act probably and the whole lot that made this film has never even seen the true effects of the drug in question.

They were given the acid as part o fexperiments to assess possible military applications of LSD. The experiment on the film is one of a number they conducted. Many of the experiments were done without the consent or knowledge of the subject. Some of those experimented on without their knowledge later commited suicide while other suffered life long mental health problems.

Both Allied and Axis troops were given access to methamphetamines(Crystal Meth). A bi-product of this drug is a raises amount of physical energy in it's user.
