This, I think, was the worst point in the entire Space Cases saga. My favorite character, Catalina, winds up killed. She was my favorite then, and she still is even now. I remember back in 1996, when I watched this, that my favorite character went from Catalina to Suzee in season 2, until... Wait, I better not say what happens.

im 20, and i remember watching this when I was a kid like in grade 4 and feeling sad, but right now im frigging tearing up like seriously i feel so sad, and for a show to spark my memories , give me goosebumps, and evoke actual emotion in me, that is incredible... EXCELLENT show!

This is a pretty heart-wrenching episode for a kid's series... a sign that it was well done. It made me sad as a fifth grader, and still irks me at 24. Everyone liked Catalina it seems, and the bit with her and Harlan right before she disappears... has left quite a few of us in angst I'm guessing.

Easily the best episode, as it breaks away from feeling like a kids show and begins to feel like a real, network-TV/movie. It's been years since I've seen this, and it still makes me feel really sad, although I didn't cry like I did when I first saw this at age 8, lol. So glad someone posted all of these, it's a great walk down memory lane.

Walter Emmanuel Jones as Harlan Band did some wonderfully emotive acting in this. As the Black Ranger, he was easily the best actor on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and he tops himself here.

"The voiceover guy" was none other than Harlan Ellison, famous science fiction writer (who wrote what remains the very best episode of the original Star Trek series, even though the "suits" royally messed it up from what it was intended to be: "City on the Edge of Forever" — he also wrote the best episode of the old "Outer Limits" series, "Demon with a Glass Hand").

He had high standards for what he would be involved in. No amount of money would make him lower those standards.

While Catalina was unfortunately not really a main cast member in the next (And final) season of "Space Cases," being replaced by Suzee, she does briefly appear in a later episode. In it, the crew find some kind of communications device which enables them to briefly see and talk to some of their loved ones back home (i.e. Harlan sees his stepfather, Rosie talks to her parents), and Suzee uses it to talk to Catalina in her home dimension for a couple minutes. It was neat.
