First of all, who gives a shit what Stalin considered him? He considered him a fascist because Ataturk was very nationalistic. His belief in the spirit and character of Turks was what drove Ataturk to do more and better things for his nation. If that is being a fascist, shit, that's an honor because I'm one, too. He was a president until he died. Turks wished he had lived longer and done a lot more. Ataturk did reforms that would normally take 150 years within 15 years. A genius is what he was.

Yes,his military record is amazing.His captain math teacher in secondary school gave him the name "Kemal" (meaning perfection, maturity in knowledge) because he was extremely good at math.He was a president, i believe, for 15 years during which he did huge reforms.He was a wolf on the battlefield but a child with children and was gentle enough to cry because a tree died (true story). You can type in "Ataturk swing" in google image to see what i mean.You can read more about his character.

Whenever he left his house to travel, he would always see this beautiful tree on the way. One day, while traveling, he told his friend, "there is this beautiful tree we're about to drive by. It's my tree. I'm gonna show it to you you." They drove by but there was no tree in sight. Ataturk immediately told his driver to stop. He got out of his car to find out what happened. The people around said they had to cut the tree down to construct a road.

taturk replied, "we could have constructed the road differently by making sure the tree did not get cut down. No road was worth killing that tree. Why didn't anyone consult me about this????" Then he got back in his car and started crying like a little child.The surprised driver and friends asked why he was crying like that over a tree.He replied, "That was not just a tree; it was a living thing that found life in the soil that I gained with so much difficulty. I failed to protect and save it."

He really loved and respected nature. Another one: one day, he was walking in his backyard, which had a pool on one side and a ditch on the other, and this huge old tree was in the way and always blocking him. The officer nearby said, "sir, i can cut it down immediately if you'd please!" in hopes of helping him. Ataturk replied, "have you ever raised such a tree in your life that you feel like you have the right to cut it?"

Fascinating man. There are many Ataturk anecdotes like these ones.

Atatürk wanted to have a modern Turkey and he was a muslim but he didnt wanted shariah in the country anymore because the shariah couldnt work in Turkey. (It doesnt work anywhere).
