Can someone plz tab out that tasty lick he played @0:09 - 0:10 ive been trying to get it for a while now... i know its a common blues lick too, its fucking bugging me
absolutely brilliant phrasing and technique. Robben Ford executes everything he does so perfectly and with such an original spin on the blues he definitely is on higher ground than most guitarists.
@MrBmgbluz These guys will grow and mature in time..As did Robben..They are not on his level but you must consider the experience Robben has had over time. Miles-Jimmy Witherspoon,Joni Mitchel-Yellow Jackets..These guys are at least pointed in the right direction..Your acknowledgement of them only shows that at some point, you are listening...
@6gpower If they havent got it by now, all the maturing and growing aint gonna make it happen. Mayers a pop star and Bonamassa is a wnat to be. JUst my opinion of course.
@MrBmgbluz they are decent guitarists, bonamassa especially has very good technique. no they definately arent in the same league as Ford, but they arent 'jokes' by a long shot.
This is one of the best blues solos ive heard in a long while his tone is nice also not to dirty just a nice edge to it , and of course leaving some nice spaces for the band .
There's something about Robben's tasty playing that makes any other blues/rock guitar player sound boring. His tone, his choice of notes - what NOT to play...
(and besides, he doesn't do like so many blues rock players do - they go at it at 200 mph from start and makes it all sound tiring to listen to.)
