@KhMErTRiAd Yes that is true kinda of stupid right the only thing you can do on 3g is download a book and how offten are you going to download a book on the go.
this is the original nook. Yes it has a web browser, however it will be limited because of the e-ink screen as it has a low refresh rate. the nook color has an lcd or tft screen, which makes it more of a tablet than an ereader for most people.
Seems like its a good product, but needs more software changes. I would buy one but just watching you, your having trouble with the interface and with the touch pad. I'll wait for the better model
@Pinwormx because the e-ink can not refresh rapidly, so the cursor would have to jump around as in Kindle. The best solution would be to make the main screen touch-screen and when you click on screen the cursor moves there even though cursor would not be able to move continuously.
@LOCKERZ1142 i have the new nook and i think u can but u have to download adobe flash player which i havent done yet so yeah .....but i think you'll b able to after the download
I want to get this sooo much! I will have it. You totally sold me on it. I like this one better than the Kindle and the sony ereaders from what I've seen. I'm so excited to get one. I love to read so much this will help me tremendously. I won't have to carry around so many books. Your reviews are so great!
I got my Nook last week and I'm simply loving it, as soon as I turned it on it instantly started to download and install firmware 1.3, everything runs smoothly, I have read an entire book and going 200+ pages on my second one, with the Nook you choose from thousands of ebooks free from the internet, there's literally hundreds of sites offering free ebooks on line, many in pdf or epup formats which the Nook supports with no problem, I can't be happier with this gadget!
That's it, i'm getting a Nook lol. I was having a tough time between whether I should get the Kindle 2 or the Nook. Despite people saying that the Kindle 2 is the better buy, i'm completely SOLD on getting this for my birthday.
I plan on getting one before the end of this year. I'm glad to see that they are keeping the updates coming. The lack of a "Go To Page #" function is still laughably odd.
I bought a kindle a couple months ago. And I am having second thoughts with the new nook updates. Is the kindle still better? And could i switch my books onto a new nook if i switched?
I have been saving my money up to buy a Nook for months and I finally have enough money so I plan to get it this weekend, and good thing I waited until the weekend because I was considering getting a kindle instead, but my minds made up on the Nook (I'm a Barnes and Noble Loyalist anyway)
Wait a minute, did you say you cannot web browse using the 3G connection? It HAS to be wifi only?? Please answer.

Doubtful. Looks at the screen refresh rate when it switches screens - now think about how well video would work. :)

Why not just make the touch area a trackpad for the games and web?

@Pinwormx
No kidding, I was thinking the exact same thing. Patents maybe?
That weird split-brain between the two screens is about the only thing that makes me hesitate before getting this device...

@superE230 You couldn't transfer them, I don't think. Unless they were PDFs. If you're not sure if they are, they probably aren't.
