@AspiringPotato Sry to disapoint you but your the one who is thirsty for that s word, "Whoever opposes the bishop does in reality serve the devil" ~ St Ignatius 30-107 A.D., taught and ordained by the apostles face to face.
@donjojohannes, read Revelations 17, it talks about the catholic church. Blessings to you. And may the holy spirit lead you away from man made doctrines. VISIT THIS VIDEO: (ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH:FROM HELL)
@donjojohannes, Many catholics think that when thess 2:15 says living community, then right away they think its the catholic church simply because it came right after Christ's church( his apostle, the church is the people not the building). Although my question is, ''the catholic church follow his commandments? which is why put my question on my last comment. I dont want a book, i want you to answer the question. Plz atleast try, for i assure you will learn more about the truths of your faith.
I'm confused. Could it be you did not even look up 2 Thess 2:15? Please do! For it speaks of that which is handed on by word (preaching of the apostles) next to the things transmitted in writing. Thus the bible rejects sola scriptura outright (quite apart from the fact that historically it is a bogus idea) And as a baptist you should too, for you believe in the Trinity, right? to be continued....
part 2.... Now the Trinity might be a truth of the bible - mind you the word does not appear in it! - but how the word and doctrine is understood comes from the first councils of the church. So as a baptist you should be critical of sola scriptura because you are not true to it (but this is where the whole of protestantism went wrong anyway).
Why do I recommend a book? - Because youtube gives be me 500 characters and I want to give you more than 400 pages (only scripture verses!!).
I fear your premise is faulty. There is one verse that you should be looking at: 2 Thess 2:15. What does it mean that Christ founded a living communion (handing on also what they received by "spoken word" as in 2 Thess 2:15). But while you have an error in your premise, I will still indulge you and give you more than 400 pages of bible passages (just verses, no arguments) on your topics of choice: Dave Armstrong: "Bible Proofs for Catholic Truths". Search the title on amazon.
Nice that you shared the name of this book. I recently became an apologetic, amazed to see some former protestants pastors like Scot Hahn, timstaples speak about the catholic church and defend it just through scripture...Please do share more pointers to others resources as well so that we can defend His church.
@donjojohannes I just wanted to say, that as a Catholic, it is very refreshing and hopeful to see someone take the time to present the truth with love, especially on youtube. You're efforts do not go unnoticed, in this life or the next. Peace!
@gtepp031387, the baptist church and lutheran church have a BIG difference. It wasnt discovered by Martin Luther. ALL that Martin was known for was for the reformation and the lutheran church, THAT IS IT! Tell be (BIBLE VERSE ONLY) were in the bible approves baptising infants.( BIBLE VERSE ONLY)
@gtepp031387, im not Lutheran im Baptist! There is a great difference between them two. In my church we never ever! talk about Martin. We just know him for passing on scriptures in German which then got translated to many other languages. If we look at History, the catholic church swear that they shall burn any country in which translates the Bible. But since it was only in latin, priest were only allowed to preach, in which new man made laws were made and added to the catholic bible by the pope
@MrUncleruckus1 Both where made by man, that is Martin Luther, I hoped you have learned never to use his name around me! ...Sure please show me any proof that the Catholic church ordered people burned for translating the bible, I think your ministers have done a good job brainwashing you into believing something that they themselves are guilty of. Sry my friend If you knew anything at all about the truth you would know that you removed 7 books from the sacred scripture that the apostles used.
@MrUncleruckus1 The baptism church was invented by men it was founded by Martin luther, then another came and added more man made tradtion to it in 1609 his name was John Smyth. He decided it was wrong to baptism infants, siding against ever belever that had come before him, siding against the apostle who themselves baptised infants and whole households.
@armando1955ify, Christ first church wasnt the catholic church but the church in which he taught his apostles. You had been lied to ever since you were a child, and trust me i Got baptised 2 times. There is no biblical evidence of any catholic ritual, for example, indulgence, perguratory, and infant baptism. Read the bible for your self and ask yourself questions. Dont just listen to a priest how barely knows anything about the bible. Read Christ's real word.
To: MrUncleruckus: Yes your Right! (Not everyone who calls me lord oh lord well enter heaven) In my eyes! (THIS REFER TO YOU).!!! What you need to do is come back home to the Holy Catholic Church! and Stop judging the only faith Jesus left on earth
Dear viewers. While I'm impressed that the last few hours left this clip with some 50+ new comments, I do think theology and its history do not fit within the 500 character limit of youtube. I encourage bible fundamentalists to study the bible: 2 Thess 2:15 and contemplate what it means that Christ founded a living communion (handing on what they received by "spoken word") rather than writing a book. Catholics I encourage to be ever more charitable, for truth w/o charity is hard to accept
@gtepp031387, not everyone who calls me lord oh lord will enter heaven, Mathew 7:21 , THE CATHLIC CHURCH DOES NOT TEACH WHAT THE APOSTLES AND MOST IMPORTANTLY JESUS TAUGHT, SEACH FOR HIM WITHOUT A PRIEST, POPE, OR BISHOP, READ THE BIBLE BY YOURSELF AND PRY YOU WILL UNDERSTAND IT. If it wasnt for Martin, you wouldnt be reading a bible in the first place, But i bet you new that already right?
@MrUncleruckus1 Martin Luther your defending this antichrist...here are some of martins teachings enjoy...
"God does not work salvation for ficticious sinners. Be a sinner and sin vigorously.... Do not for a moment imagine that this life is the abiding place of justice; sin must be committed."
[Martin Luther]
"Sin cannot tear you away from him [Christ] even though you commit adultery a hundred times a day and commit as many murders."
@MrUncleruckus1 ..cont.."Many sweat to reconcile St. Paul and St. James, but in vain. 'Faith justifies' and 'faith does not justify' contradict each other flatly. If any one can harmonize them I will give him my doctor's hood and let him call me a fool."
[Martin Luther]
"No gown worse becomes a woman than the desire to be wise."
@MrUncleruckus1 "Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the word of God."
@MrUncleruckus1 "What shall we do with...the Jews?...set fire to their synagogues or schools and bury and cover with dirt whatever will not burn, so that no man will ever again see a stone or cinder of them."
[Martin Luther]
"I maintain that some Jew wrote it [the Book of James]who probably heard about Christian people but never encountered any."
@MrUncleruckus1 "The fact that [the biblical book]Hebrews is not an epistle of St. Paul, or of any other apostle, is proved by what it says in chapter two...."
@MrUncleruckus1 "Heretics are not to be disputed with, but to be condemned unheard, and whilst they perish by fire, the faithful ought to pursue the evil to its source, and bathe their heads in the blood of the Catholic bishops, and of the Pope, who is the devil in disguise."
@MrUncleruckus1 "If I had to baptise a Jew, I would take him to the bridge of the Elbe, hang a stone around his neck and push him over with the words 'I baptise thee in the name of Abraham'."
@MrUncleruckus1 "If the peasants are in open rebellion, then they are outside the law of God. Therefore let all who are able slash, strike down, and kill (those who rebel) openly and secretly, remembering that there can be nothing more venomous, harmful, or devilish than a rebel. It is exactly like killing a mad dog."
@MrUncleruckus1 unlike you my biblical interpritation is not a personal one which the bible prohibits. My interpritation has benn taught from the begging and accepts the bible as a whole..while youmake personal interpritations of verse that word for word contridict the bible, for instance, faith alone...the bible says "NOT BY FAITH ALONE" James 2:24 and this is the only place in the bible where the words faith and alone appear. You also state the bible is the sole authority, which is not in...
@MrUncleruckus1 ...cont..the bible. In fact Jesus tells us the final decision lies in the hands of the church and he instructs us to first show how one is wrong by ourselves if they then do not listen bring two or three with you(which you would consider to be the church, and a way it is) and if the three can not convince this one then bring him to the church(a physical structure) and if he will not listen to the church stay away from him.
@MrUncleruckus1 Many people confess their amazement that Hitler preaches ideas which they have always held.... From the Middle Ages we can look to the same example in Martin Luther. What stirred in the soul and spirit of the German people of that time, finally found expression in his person, in his words and deeds.
-"Geist und Kampf" (speech), Bundesarchiv Berlin-Zehlendorf from Walter Buch, the head of the Nazi Party court.
@MrUncleruckus1 Bernhard Rust served as Minister of Education in Nazi Germany. He wrote:
"Since Martin Luther closed his eyes, no such son of our people has appeared again. It has been decided that we shall be the first to witness his reappearance.... I think the time is past when one may not say the names of Hitler and Luther in the same breath. They belong together; they are of the same old stamp" [Schrot und Korn].
@MrUncleruckus1 ...cont..."Dr. Martin Luther would very probably sit in my place in the defendants' dock today, if this book had been taken into consideration by the Prosecution. In the book 'The Jews and Their Lies,' Dr. Martin Luther writes that the Jews are a serpent's brood and one should burn down their synagogues and destroy them..."
@MrUncleruckus1 "Their synagogues ... should be set on fire."
"Their homes should be broken down and destroyed. They ought to be put under one roof or in a stable, like Gypsies, in order that they may realize that they ... are ... but miserable captives."
"They should be deprived of their prayerbooks and Talmuds."
"Their rabbis must be forbidden under threat of death to teach any more."
@gtepp031387, if there is a heritic here it is you! You focus to much on the followers than the master Christ. You call him light, but you dont see him. You call him good, but you dont trust him. you call him wise, but you dont listen to him. You call him master, but you dont obey him. You call him lord, but you dont serve him. You call him love, but you dont love him. you say his the way, but you dont follow him. you call him the truth, but you dont believe him. His word is the bible.
@MrUncleruckus1 Do you know what I have problem with? It's this whole idea of the catholic church being universal. I mean everyone knows or has heard of the Catholic church. You see it movies, in the news media. It's captured by the eyes and ears of almost every individual in the world. Didn't Jesus say in Matt7:13 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction"? So that would make one think twice before considering the Catholic church
@MrUncleruckus1 Well if I'm a heritic against Satanism then yes! Sry your the ones that removed 7 books and many other verses from scripture, you reject the church the apostles built and the holy spirit that worked in there sucessores. You have rejected the spirit of truth and have condemmed yourself.
@gtepp031387, lol you do know that the pope had been modifiying verses and erasing them from the bible right. And when did i ever say that you can be saved without Christ!? So im satan? i show bible verses and all you show me is one that doesnt make sense according to what i was talking about. You are Blinded by people who say they know about the bible. The catholic church werent the first church but the apostles were. Read revelations 22:8-9 for God sakes. You think ur going to heaven? really?
@MrUncleruckus1 Really give me one verse the Pope erased of modified??? The Catholic church gave the world the bible in 393 A.D. and you removed 7 books from it and modifed many verse like the verse from psalms "The LORD reighns from the wood" Instead of siding with the apostolic scripture the Septuigent, you followed the Jewish council in 90 A.D. that removed 7 books and several passages that identifed Jesus as the Christ, they also rejected all of the New test and the apostles.
Ignatious was just a regular cathlic who supported the catholic church, not a Saint. Just like in the old testament where only isrealites could be jewish prophets, the same in the new testament where the ones who saw Christ could be know as Saints. We are saints but they were Saints, not including ignatious.
@MrUncleruckus1 Ignatius was maytered for the faith..he was taught and ordained by John the apostle..if anyone is a Saint it is him..he held the church together and allways defended the apostolic teachings against heritics such as yourself..whoever oppose Ignatius serves the devil!
@gtepp031387 let me get this straight! You mean to tell me that a person by the name of ignatious. Who is not mentioned in the bible mind you. You make it sound as though this ignatious was Jesus himself.
@soulsurcher Where does the bible state it is the sole authority and not the "Chruch of the living GOD, the foundation and pillar of truth"..sola scriptura is a herisy of uncaluable perportions. When one abondons the teachings of the united church and the communion of Saints and starts making personal interpritations well he needs to read the bible more closley as "No prophecy of scripture is a matter of personal interpritation" 2 Peter 1:20
@soulsurcher Yes and I firmly believe that Ignatius was one with and in Christ Jesus, appionted and ordained by Peter, and an understudy of John the apostle. Ignatius has become a father to me through the gosple.
@gtepp031387 I'll tell you what! You believe Ignatius and I'll believe in Jesus, and we'll just have to see in the end who's right. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. I wish you well on your journey in your life of faith in God. Remember it's not your faith I question. It's the catholic church and it's practices which are not recorded in the bible. A little advise. You might want to try being a little less forceful when it comes to sharing your thoughts. "humility comes before honer"
@soulsurcher As Ignatius is one with Jesus, to reject Ignatius is to reject Jesus. As well as Ignatius was ordainded and oppointed by the apostles you are also rejecting the apostles decisions and authority given by GOD. If you think you are serving GOD by rejecting the teachings and authority of the apostles then you are VERY confused.
@soulsurcher Please post something done by the church that you believe is against( the Catholic book cannonized and compiled by the Catholic church in 393 A.D.) the bible?
@gtepp031387 Infant baptism? Confession to a Catholic preist? The use of the words Hocus - pocus in one of the most sacred of Catholic rituals? Sprinkling? Catechism? Making a sign of an upside cross on yourself? The waring of a crucifix? Praying to Saints that have gone on to be with Jesus? Just to name a few.....
@soulsurcher Infant baptism is in scripture my friend, so is confession, water baptism is in scripture, making the sighn of the cross is a rite the early church practised as a sighn of respect and veneration, intersession is in scripture, we do not pray to the saints but through them any one that has read the bible has done the same thing, would you like me to show you?
@gtepp031387 I prefer you didn't. Infact I'm done dealing in this subject for now. I'll tell you what. You get all your facts together, send them to me in a personal mesage. I'll look at it and get back with you. Sound good?
@gtepp031387, stop contradicting scripture, in romans 10 what does the title say?
Focus on the bible, before christ was judaism which existed ever since the creation of adam and eve. This religion saved people as well. although now adays no one can be saved without Jesus Christ. And stop talking with scripture to back it up, tell me where in the bible does it say that indulgence is a legit law THROUGH SCRIPTURE. (This oughta be good)
@MrUncleruckus1 Uhmm IDK what does the title of Romans ten say in your bible...you do know that the title of the chapters was not in the original writters letter I hope right???...Oh so the scripture was lying that say "NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH ME"...you have showed yourself Satan, be gone!
@gtepp031367, you seem to think you know so much about history but yet you dont know how popes and bishops made stuff like indulgence and perguratory to make money and then saying that it was a law from the bible. You also forgot that the bible was only in Latin and know one except priests were able to read it. Yet you say my religion is man made? In (Romans 10 it says that you are rightous by faith alone, but it is true that faith is nothing with deeds( which i never denied in the first place.
@MrUncleruckus1 Romans 10???Sry the only place you will find the words faith alone is in James 2:24..or would you like to post the scripture verse in Romans faith alone?
@MrUncleruckus1 Purgatory(tho it is not know as purgatory, but a place of purification) is a belife that came from the Jews and is still believed today this is why the pray the mourners Kaddesh for 11 mounths after a loved one dies. Indulgences are needed and are fact or else please explain how the Saints before Christ made it to heaven..don't they need the indulgences of Christ as well..or are you saying that one can go to heaven without Christ???
@MrUncleruckus1 Julius Streicher (one of Hitler's top henchmen and publisher of the anti-Semitic Der Sturmer) was asked during the Nuremberg trials if there were any other publications in Germany which treated the Jewish question in an anti-Semitic way., Streicher put it well:...cont...
@gtepp031367, the reason why the king james bible doesnt have the book of Ignatiaus, book of wisdom and etc is because none saw Jesus therefor the arent Saints. Its like if i write a book about Jesus and then it gets to be in the bible, no these were just like what i have said. You say i follow men but it is you who gives false verses from the bible in order to prove your point (for example mathew 5: 25-26 where you state that it talks about perguratory.
@armando1955ify I don't no how else to answer that question. I think that's the best way to say it without getting personal. The truth is homosexuality and murder (abortion) as well as lying, stealing, having a lustful eye, greed, hatred, bitterness, bad language, self abuse and I can name a whole lot more. All of these fall in the same category. They are all sin! They are all hated by God. Does God hate the person? No, and neither do I. Besides with most people you would never no if they were
@gtepp031387 What would I gain from Clement if not more rubbish about a religion that is not backed up by scripture? I want you to tell me what do I have to gain from Clement? You see I have no problem with learning new things especially when it has something to do with the bible. It's when the knowledge imparted takes on a much greater position then the bible. That's when I have to draw a line. God bless you
@soulsurcher Clement is one with Jesus as he is in the book of life according to the infallible word of GOD. If you feel you can word for word conbtridic someone who is in the book of life and named as a coworker of the apostles..then you have serious problems...If like me you find it very hard to word for word contridict a coworker of the apostles who's name is in the book of life..then you really need to question your beliefe and look at yourself in the mirror.
the books of the Bible are in the Vatican!! not in no protestant Church. The Catholic Church is the Keeper of the Bible! it's is one of the tradition of the Holy Catholic Church! (To KJVBtistGuy) the words hocus-pucus comes form the most sacred moment in Catholic ritual: the consceration of the bread as the body of Christ by speaking the words"this is my Body"' which in Latin is Hoc est Enim Corpus Meum.
@armando1955ify So the word hocus-pocus originates from the Catholic churh? Not just from the Catholic church, but the most sacred moment in Catholic ritual!? Now I know for a certainty that the priest are bunch of wizards and wiches. Hey!! Keep teaching us the truth about the Catholic church. I'm all ears
@soulsurcher "Wherrever Jesus is there is the catholic church" St Ignatius 88 A.D...now why don't you go look up who Ignatius of Antioch was..you might learn something that can save you.
@gtepp031387 So go to another source other then the bible? You want me to try to find salvation through St Ignatius and not Jesus. Jesus said Jhn14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jhn14:5"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?" Jhn14:7 "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." Jesus is the way
@soulsurcher Jesus clearly gives his teachings to the apostles and the apostles put it into a church "The church of the living GOD, the pillar and foundation of truth"...St Ignatius was ordined by the apostles, and blessed by Jesus in the gosple..he is one with Jesus, who gave his life for the faith. To reject St Ignatius is to reject the holy spirit, to reject the holy spirit is the one unforgivable sin. As well you should listen to scripture and help and accept Clement.
@gtepp031387 If you want to try and say the Apostles weren't Jesus, but we listen to them. It's because they followed the principles and doctines of Jesus to the T. They crossed every T and dotted every I all for the glory and honer of his name, and his name is Jesus.
@soulsurcher So the apostles weren't Jesus? hummm well then what do you think of John 17:20-26???? Intresting I believe Jesus said something alone the lines of If they don't believe and accept you(that is the apostles) then niether do they believe and accept me. As well when Saul was attcking the diciple of the LORD what did the LORD say..here's a hint he didn't say why are you presucuting my diciples.
@gtepp031387 You misunderstood me. I was basically bracing myself for future commentary. I thought that someone would come at me with "the Apostles weren't Jesus, but you listen to them" All because you referred me to St Ignatius. I hope that clarifiied what I was trying to say. I believe everything the apostles taught. However, I have no clue what you were trying to point out to me.
@gtepp031387 Clement the fourth pope. the Roman Church claimed that Clement was ordained by St. Peter. This is what I'm talking about more claims without solid documentation. It's not in the word of God!!!
@soulsurcher "And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life." - Philippians 4:3..Intresting the word of GOD calls this one a co worker of the apostles and one who's name is in the book of life..it also asks that you help him.
@gtepp031387 I saw that too, but that still doesn't validate the catholic religious practices. Like I said, I believe in what the apostles taught, but what the apostles taught is contrary to the catholic religious practices. If you want me to believe that Clement was performing catholic rituals you will have to show me in the bible. Until then Clement as well as all the other apostles followed Jesus. They followed the doctrines and principles of Jesus. Not what the Catholic religion teaches.
@soulsurcher Clement was ordained in the perfect forknowledge of Christ! He taught only apostolic teachings, yet you reject him,as well as the scripture that tells you to help and accept him! I help Clement by spreading his teachings. He teaches us how the apostles choose bishops as there succesores, and how theses men assumed the office and misinstry of the apostles. Clement tells us in the spirit of truth, as one that is in the book of life, yet you reject it and follow men instead!
@gtepp031387 Quit making this personal and focus on the bible. What does the bible say? I never said I rejected Clement! I said I reject the catholic religions claim. Also, I don't see in the bible were Clement or any of the apostles performed any of the Catholic rituals that are done by the Catholic church. You are taking this to personal. Don't you believe that the bible is the Holy Word of God? Don't you think that if God wanted us to go to Catholic priest he would have told us in his word?
@soulsurcher The only one with unbibical practises is you..salvation by faith alone...lets see what scripture says..."NOT BY FAITH ALONE" James 2:24 what about sola scriptura..."and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by WORD, or by our epistle." you have alos removed 7 books from apostolic scripture..you follow Martin Luther who found your church in the 1500s..you reject the faith of the saints and martyers, and the united church at ecumentical council.
@soulsurcher Your man made traditions where never taught, practised, know, not heard of by anyone untill the 1500s. When did symbolic eucharist come about? When did sola scriptura come about? When was it ever ok to oppose the bishop? Why do you not confess your sins to one another as the bible asks? When did symbolic baptism come about? YOU follow man, I follow the church that Jesus established.."Wherever Jesus is there is the Catholic church" - St Ignatius 88 A.D.
@soulsurcher "Whoever oppose the bishop does in reality serve the devil" and "They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again. Those, therefore, who speak against this gift of God, incur death in the midst of their disputes." - St Ignatius
@gtepp031387 That's very interesting. I think maybe I underestimated the deception Catholic church. I've always known about the Catholic religion, but never bothered to look into the history or origin. Now that I've been found by Jesus, I see things clearer. I have the Holy Ghost living inside me and I study the bible often. I've been in the church since 2004. When I read the bible it connects with my spirit, but when I read St Ignatius88AD I feel nothing. Jesus said "my sheep hear my voice"
@soulsurcher "but when I read St Ignatius 88AD I feel nothing."...this is becaues you serve the devil.."Whoever oppose the bishop does in reality serve the devil" - St Ignatius
@gtepp031387 Further more, If I lived in those times, I would have helped, but you got to remember this was a letter written to the Philippian church a long time ago. So if there were messages like this one " help those women which laboured with me in the gospel" Then you have to be able to discern between what's doctrine and what's basically the attitude of the saints of God. This is more describing the attitude that Paul is instructing those of the church of Philipi to have. That's all!
@gtepp031387 So how are you helping Clement and those women decribed in Philippians 4:3? Do you even know what Paul is talking about when he mentions "help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also"? I don't know what they were going through. What their current situation was during this time, and neither do you. Of course we know that the church was under persecution, but that's all we know. As for Clement being a co worker. Ok, I guess I can deal with that description.
@soulsurcher "What their current situation was during this time, and neither do you"
In fact I do, it is well documented in the writtings of the early fathers such as Clement, Ignatius and Polycarp..all three of these men where ordained and tauhgt by the apostles face to face. You have choosen to ignore the spirit of truth and try to prove your stand by the bible alone, without the spirit, which is nothing more then a dead letter!
@soulsurcher humm who to trus you and your personal interpritation of scripture that contridicts scripture..or those who actually knew and where taught face to face by the apostles? Humm who to trust every believer united with the same voice and faith, or Martin Luther 1500 years later that called for the death of all Jews and Catholics and founder the heretical sect of protest(GODs church)ants?
@soulsurcher Clememt being ordained by Peter and Paul in Rome is very well documented by the ealry church, all christians of the first 1500 years of the church, with one voice agree.
@gtepp031387 that still doesn't validate the catholic religious practices.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
@KJVBaptistGuy From the KJV: St John 6 51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
@KJVBaptistGuy 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
@burkardhanis 1Co 10:16 "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?" It is communion, not literal.
@KJVBaptistGuy the Catholic and Orthodox Churches have know the Risen Lord in the Eucharistic Elements for going 2000 years...from before any of the NT was written. You can interpret it your way if you wish, but I will stay with the Truth.
@burkardhanis I don't believe so, but you are entitled to your opinion. The winners write the history books. What I understand is that Roman Catholicism has a very large sphere of influence worldwide in many aspects of day to day life. And from talking to people, Catholics and ex-Catholics, I've learned a thing or two. There is not just Catholic and Protestant history.
@KJVBaptistGuy If it is not literal, then why does Saint Paul go on to say in Chapter eleven "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord." (1 Corinthians 11:26-27) If it were only a symbol, why would he hold his Christians accountable for the very body and blood of Jesus? That's a serious claim to that culture.
@KJVBaptistGuy Saint Paul doesn't seem to agree. He writes, "for anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body [of Christ], eats and drinks judgement on himself. That is why many among you are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying. If we discerned ourselves, we would not be under JUDGMENT; but since we are JUDGED by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we may not be CONDEMNED ALONG WITH THE WORLD." 1 Corinthians 11:29-32. Condemned along with the world? PT1
@KJVBaptistGuy Seems like the Lord's Supper is a pretty big deal. If the Corinthians (and ourselves for that matter) do not recognize the holiness of the Lord's Supper, they (we) are judged for it! Condemned with the rest of the world! Also, he seems to be saying that actual, physical ailments can be healed by the graces of the Lord's Supper when received worthily. Does that seem like a mere symbol to you? It seems to be something bigger than just a symbol. There's something REAL here. PT2
@purplecwagon "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63. It's symbolic.
@KJVBaptistGuy It's not symbolic. For one thing, Jesus repeats himself in the bread of life discourse immediately preceding that verse like he does no where in scripture. He LOSES disciples over this. They leave saying "how can he give us his flesh and blood to eat?" So why doesn't Jesus clear up their misunderstanding? If they're going to leave him over it, why does he not correct them. Read the Bread of Life discourse in John 6.
@KJVBaptistGuy Jesus is not saying that his Eucharistic presence is spiritual or symbolic, but saying that the words he speaks ARE spirit and life. Man can only understand things of the flesh, but with faith in Jesus we can understand the impossible made possible in the Christ.
@purplecwagon You may not consume blood before the law - Genesis 9:3-4 ; During the law - Leviticus 17-11-12 ; And after the law - Acts 15:20, 29. I figure that God wouldn't contradict Himself. Why would He tell us to abstain from blood in different dispensations, and then say that you must drink His literal blood? Doesn't make sense. All the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ came out on Calvary. God has no blood now.
@KJVBaptistGuy You cannot work on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11) Jesus works on the Sabbath. (Mathew 12:7-8) The Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath, and the New Covenant is the fulfillment of the Old. Jesus Christ is Lord of the Old Testament. He does not change it, but fulfills it. He can pick wheat on the Sabbath and give us his flesh and blood to eat and drink because he is God (John 1:1)
@purplecwagon You can work on the sabbath. No where in the N.T. for the church age dispensation are we commanded to observe the sabbath. It is a ceremonial commandment, not a moral one.
@purplecwagon Do you know why God never based his Church only on the bible because a book can be interpreted a1000 ways over 1000s of years. So you need an infallible apostolic Church to interpretate the infallible book, known as the bible.
@Zebedex I know, bro. I'm 112%Catholic!!! I had been talking to @KJVBaptist when I posted that. I was trying to point out how Dispensationalism doesn't exist in the Bible or elsewhere. I know what's up. Ad Jesum, per Mariam, cum Petro!!!
@KJVBaptistGuy It isn't that we take wine and hokus pokus it into blood. The accidents/species/whatever you want to call it of Bread and Wine remain the same while the SUBSTANCE is changed. In just the same way as the Accidents/species/whatever you want to call it of Jesus Christ remained that of man. He was the Son of God veiled in the presence of a man. Jesus comes to us in the Eucharistic elements veiled in the bread and the wine, but still present.
@KJVBaptistGuy How do you make Jesus alive in your heart? lip service or true service?Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?"
23 And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."
@melchizedic76 The book of Matthew is largely written to the Jews. The Lord had not been crucified yet, therefore the New Testament had not begun. Most cults try to get their doctrine on salvation from either Matthew, Acts, and Hebrews. Mat 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." The Lord is preaching the kingdom gospel, not the gospel of grace here.
My sentiments exactly! How I feel everyday till I can get to Mass to receive Our Lord's Body and Blood! Thank you and may His Precious Body and Blood quench our thirst and fill our souls!
"Police in the Irish Republic are examining if criminal charges can be brought over a damning report on child sex abuse at Catholic institutions.
The investigation found that sexual abuse was "endemic" in boys' institutions, and church leaders knew what was going on.
The Irish deputy prime minister, Mary Coughlan, described the abuse of children in Catholic-run institutions as one of the "darkest chapters" in Irish history. "
@JFrancesFrancisJ - I completely understand.. It's hard to leave the Blessed Sacrament... The longer we stay there it's being at Calvary, and we can get drunk on the True Vine, so the Holy Spirit may impart wisdom on us. Like a boat we must be anchored at the Blessed Sacrament's dock of Yeshua, for Glad Tidings to share with us.
@formerliberal Definitely. For me it is imparative that I take communion. My college is in the middle of nowhere. I have no car but there is a bus that travels to town every two hours where I may go to church. I go all the way out to a 45 minuted Mass and spend the rest of the 2 or 3 hours sitting in a bus station with strangers waiting to come back to school. Its hard, and my mother thinks its dangerous. But its worth it. Even if I can only go to Mass once a month...It's that serious.
The Catholic church is thirsty for something that lies within all men. It starts with an s. It isn't souls.

MrUncleruckus1 8 months ago
@MrUncleruckus1
I'm confused. Could it be you did not even look up 2 Thess 2:15? Please do! For it speaks of that which is handed on by word (preaching of the apostles) next to the things transmitted in writing. Thus the bible rejects sola scriptura outright (quite apart from the fact that historically it is a bogus idea) And as a baptist you should too, for you believe in the Trinity, right? to be continued....
donjojohannes 8 months ago

To all catholics ( BIBLE VERSE ONLY)
Indulgence and perguratory:
Baptising infants:
Knelling Down to Saints:
Praying for the dead:
Confessing your sins to the priest:
7 capital sins:
In this order, (BIBLE VERSE ONLY) no explanations. For explanation comes from man while the Bible comes from God.

@MrUncleruckus1

MrUncleruckus1 8 months ago
@MrUncleruckus1 Both where made by man, that is Martin Luther, I hoped you have learned never to use his name around me! ...Sure please show me any proof that the Catholic church ordered people burned for translating the bible, I think your ministers have done a good job brainwashing you into believing something that they themselves are guilty of. Sry my friend If you knew anything at all about the truth you would know that you removed 7 books from the sacred scripture that the apostles used.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@MrUncleruckus1 The baptism church was invented by men it was founded by Martin luther, then another came and added more man made tradtion to it in 1609 his name was John Smyth. He decided it was wrong to baptism infants, siding against ever belever that had come before him, siding against the apostle who themselves baptised infants and whole households.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@armando1955ify, Christ first church wasnt the catholic church but the church in which he taught his apostles. You had been lied to ever since you were a child, and trust me i Got baptised 2 times. There is no biblical evidence of any catholic ritual, for example, indulgence, perguratory, and infant baptism. Read the bible for your self and ask yourself questions. Dont just listen to a priest how barely knows anything about the bible. Read Christ's real word.

Catholics I encourage to be ever more charitable, for truth w/o charity is hard to accept
donjojohannes 8 months ago 4
@gtepp031387, not everyone who calls me lord oh lord will enter heaven, Mathew 7:21 , THE CATHLIC CHURCH DOES NOT TEACH WHAT THE APOSTLES AND MOST IMPORTANTLY JESUS TAUGHT, SEACH FOR HIM WITHOUT A PRIEST, POPE, OR BISHOP, READ THE BIBLE BY YOURSELF AND PRY YOU WILL UNDERSTAND IT. So that would make one think twice before considering the Catholic church
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@MrUncleruckus1 Well if I'm a heritic against Satanism then yes! Sry your the ones that removed 7 books and many other verses from scripture, you reject the church the apostles built and the holy spirit that worked in there sucessores. You have rejected the spirit of truth and have condemmed yourself.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387, lol you do know that the pope had been modifiying verses and erasing them from the bible right. And when did i ever say that you can be saved without Christ!? So im satan? i show bible verses and all you show me is one that doesnt make sense according to what i was talking about. You are Blinded by people who say they know about the bible. The catholic church werent the first church but the apostles were. Read revelations 22:8-9 for God sakes. You think ur going to heaven? really?
MrUncleruckus1 8 months ago

MrUncleruckus1 8 months ago
@MrUncleruckus1 Ignatius was maytered for the faith..he was taught and ordained by John the apostle..if anyone is a Saint it is him..he held the church together and allways defended the apostolic teachings against heritics such as yourself..whoever oppose Ignatius serves the devil!
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 let me get this straight! You mean to tell me that a person by the name of ignatious. Who is not mentioned in the bible mind you. You make it sound as though this ignatious was Jesus himself.
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Where does the bible state it is the sole authority and not the "Chruch of the living GOD, the foundation and pillar of truth"..sola scriptura is a herisy of uncaluable perportions. When one abondons the teachings of the united church and the communion of Saints and starts making personal interpritations well he needs to read the bible more closley as "No prophecy of scripture is a matter of personal interpritation" 2 Peter 1:20
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Yes and I firmly believe that Ignatius was one with and in Christ Jesus, appionted and ordained by Peter, and an understudy of John the apostle. Ignatius has become a father to me through the gosple.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 I'll tell you what! You believe Ignatius and I'll believe in Jesus, and we'll just have to see in the end who's right. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. I wish you well on your journey in your life of faith in God. Remember it's not your faith I question. It's the catholic church and it's practices which are not recorded in the bible. A little advise. You might want to try being a little less forceful when it comes to sharing your thoughts. "humility comes before honer"
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher As Ignatius is one with Jesus, to reject Ignatius is to reject Jesus. As well as Ignatius was ordainded and oppointed by the apostles you are also rejecting the apostles decisions and authority given by GOD. If you think you are serving GOD by rejecting the teachings and authority of the apostles then you are VERY confused.

(To KJVBtistGuy) the words hocus-pucus comes form the most sacred moment in Catholic ritual: the consceration of the bread as the body of Christ by speaking the words"this is my Body"' which in Latin is Hoc est Enim Corpus Meum.
armando1955ify 11 months ago
@armando1955ify So the word hocus-pocus originates from the Catholic churh? Not just from the Catholic church, but the most sacred moment in Catholic ritual!? Now I know for a certainty that the priest are bunch of wizards and wiches. Hey!! Keep teaching us the truth about the Catholic church. I'm all ears
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher "Wherrever Jesus is there is the catholic church" St Ignatius 88 A.D...now why don't you go look up who Ignatius of Antioch was..you might learn something that can save you.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 So go to another source other then the bible? You want me to try to find salvation through St Ignatius and not Jesus. Jesus said Jhn14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jhn14:5"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?" Jhn14:7 "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." Jesus is the way
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Jesus clearly gives his teachings to the apostles and the apostles put it into a church "The church of the living GOD, the pillar and foundation of truth"...St Ignatius was ordined by the apostles, and blessed by Jesus in the gosple..he is one with Jesus, who gave his life for the faith. To reject St Ignatius is to reject the holy spirit, to reject the holy spirit is the one unforgivable sin. As well you should listen to scripture and help and accept Clement.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 If you want to try and say the Apostles weren't Jesus, but we listen to them. It's because they followed the principles and doctines of Jesus to the T. They crossed every T and dotted every I all for the glory and honer of his name, and his name is Jesus.
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher So the apostles weren't Jesus? hummm well then what do you think of John 17:20-26???? Intresting I believe Jesus said something alone the lines of If they don't believe and accept you(that is the apostles) then niether do they believe and accept me. As well when Saul was attcking the diciple of the LORD what did the LORD say..here's a hint he didn't say why are you presucuting my diciples.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 You misunderstood me. I was basically bracing myself for future commentary. I thought that someone would come at me with "the Apostles weren't Jesus, but you listen to them" All because you referred me to St Ignatius. I hope that clarifiied what I was trying to say. I believe everything the apostles taught. However, I have no clue what you were trying to point out to me.
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Why don't you do a bible search for the name Clement see what it comes up with.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 Clement the fourth pope. the Roman Church claimed that Clement was ordained by St. Peter. This is what I'm talking about more claims without solid documentation. It's not in the word of God!!!
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher "And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life." - Philippians 4:3..Intresting the word of GOD calls this one a co worker of the apostles and one who's name is in the book of life..it also asks that you help him.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 I saw that too, but that still doesn't validate the catholic religious practices. Like I said, I believe in what the apostles taught, but what the apostles taught is contrary to the catholic religious practices. If you want me to believe that Clement was performing catholic rituals you will have to show me in the bible. Until then Clement as well as all the other apostles followed Jesus. They followed the doctrines and principles of Jesus. Not what the Catholic religion teaches.
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Clement was ordained in the perfect forknowledge of Christ! He taught only apostolic teachings, yet you reject him,as well as the scripture that tells you to help and accept him! I help Clement by spreading his teachings. He teaches us how the apostles choose bishops as there succesores, and how theses men assumed the office and misinstry of the apostles. Clement tells us in the spirit of truth, as one that is in the book of life, yet you reject it and follow men instead!
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 Quit making this personal and focus on the bible. What does the bible say? I never said I rejected Clement! I said I reject the catholic religions claim. Also, I don't see in the bible were Clement or any of the apostles performed any of the Catholic rituals that are done by the Catholic church. You are taking this to personal. Don't you believe that the bible is the Holy Word of God? Don't you think that if God wanted us to go to Catholic priest he would have told us in his word?
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher The only one with unbibical practises is you..salvation by faith alone...lets see what scripture says..."NOT BY FAITH ALONE" James 2:24 what about sola scriptura..."and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by WORD, or by our epistle." you have alos removed 7 books from apostolic scripture..you follow Martin Luther who found your church in the 1500s..you reject the faith of the saints and martyers, and the united church at ecumentical council.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Your man made traditions where never taught, practised, know, not heard of by anyone untill the 1500s. When did symbolic eucharist come about? When did sola scriptura come about? When was it ever ok to oppose the bishop? Why do you not confess your sins to one another as the bible asks? When did symbolic baptism come about? YOU follow man, I follow the church that Jesus established.."Wherever Jesus is there is the Catholic church" - St Ignatius 88 A.D.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@soulsurcher "Whoever oppose the bishop does in reality serve the devil" and "They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again. Those, therefore, who speak against this gift of God, incur death in the midst of their disputes." - St Ignatius
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 That's very interesting. I think maybe I underestimated the deception Catholic church. I've always known about the Catholic religion, but never bothered to look into the history or origin. Now that I've been found by Jesus, I see things clearer. I have the Holy Ghost living inside me and I study the bible often. I've been in the church since 2004. When I read the bible it connects with my spirit, but when I read St Ignatius88AD I feel nothing. Jesus said "my sheep hear my voice"
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher "but when I read St Ignatius 88AD I feel nothing."...this is becaues you serve the devil.."Whoever oppose the bishop does in reality serve the devil" - St Ignatius
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 Further more, If I lived in those times, I would have helped, but you got to remember this was a letter written to the Philippian church a long time ago. So if there were messages like this one " help those women which laboured with me in the gospel" Then you have to be able to discern between what's doctrine and what's basically the attitude of the saints of God. This is more describing the attitude that Paul is instructing those of the church of Philipi to have. That's all!
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 So how are you helping Clement and those women decribed in Philippians 4:3? Do you even know what Paul is talking about when he mentions "help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also"? I don't know what they were going through. What their current situation was during this time, and neither do you. Of course we know that the church was under persecution, but that's all we know. As for Clement being a co worker. Ok, I guess I can deal with that description.
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher "What their current situation was during this time, and neither do you"
In fact I do, it is well documented in the writtings of the early fathers such as Clement, Ignatius and Polycarp..all three of these men where ordained and tauhgt by the apostles face to face. You have choosen to ignore the spirit of truth and try to prove your stand by the bible alone, without the spirit, which is nothing more then a dead letter!
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 Please indulge me, I would like to know what those writings say.
soulsurcher 8 months ago
@soulsurcher I'll send you the whole epistle of Clement if you will unlock your channle so I can PM
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@soulsurcher humm who to trus you and your personal interpritation of scripture that contridicts scripture..or those who actually knew and where taught face to face by the apostles? Humm who to trust every believer united with the same voice and faith, or Martin Luther 1500 years later that called for the death of all Jews and Catholics and founder the heretical sect of protest(GODs church)ants?
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@soulsurcher Clememt being ordained by Peter and Paul in Rome is very well documented by the ealry church, all christians of the first 1500 years of the church, with one voice agree.
gtepp031387 8 months ago
@gtepp031387 that still doesn't validate the catholic religious practices. Like I said, I believe in what the apostles taught, but what the apostles taught is contrary to the catholic religious practices.

@KJVBaptistGuy From the KJV: St John 6 51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy
52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard [this], said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@burkardhanis 1Co 10:16 "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?" It is communion, not literal.
KJVBaptistGuy 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy the Catholic and Orthodox Churches have know the Risen Lord in the Eucharistic Elements for going 2000 years...from before any of the NT was written. You can interpret it your way if you wish, but I will stay with the Truth.
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@burkardhanis I don't believe so, but you are entitled to your opinion. The winners write the history books. What I understand is that Roman Catholicism has a very large sphere of influence worldwide in many aspects of day to day life. And from talking to people, Catholics and ex-Catholics, I've learned a thing or two. There is not just Catholic and Protestant history.

@burkardhanis well said and how i hope the two become one once more and get ride of this vile poisen called modernism
gtepp031387 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy If it is not literal, then why does Saint Paul go on to say in Chapter eleven "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord." (1 Corinthians 11:26-27) If it were only a symbol, why would he hold his Christians accountable for the very body and blood of Jesus? That's a serious claim to that culture.
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@purplecwagon Because you are showing that the Lord Jesus Christ died when you partake of the Lord's supper.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. I Cor. 11:28
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. I Cor. 11:29
What is being said is, if you partake while still living like the devil, and don't examine yourself, your soul is saved, but you die i.e. damnation
KJVBaptistGuy 1 year ago
@purplecwagon The damnation is a temporal damnation and refers to your body.
KJVBaptistGuy 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy Saint Paul doesn't seem to agree. He writes, "for anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body [of Christ], eats and drinks judgement on himself. That is why many among you are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying. If we discerned ourselves, we would not be under JUDGMENT; but since we are JUDGED by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we may not be CONDEMNED ALONG WITH THE WORLD." 1 Corinthians 11:29-32. Condemned along with the world? PT1
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy Seems like the Lord's Supper is a pretty big deal. If the Corinthians (and ourselves for that matter) do not recognize the holiness of the Lord's Supper, they (we) are judged for it! Condemned with the rest of the world! Also, he seems to be saying that actual, physical ailments can be healed by the graces of the Lord's Supper when received worthily. Does that seem like a mere symbol to you? It seems to be something bigger than just a symbol. There's something REAL here. PT2
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@purplecwagon "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63. It's symbolic.
KJVBaptistGuy 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy It's not symbolic. For one thing, Jesus repeats himself in the bread of life discourse immediately preceding that verse like he does no where in scripture. He LOSES disciples over this. They leave saying "how can he give us his flesh and blood to eat?" So why doesn't Jesus clear up their misunderstanding? If they're going to leave him over it, why does he not correct them. Read the Bread of Life discourse in John 6.
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy Jesus is not saying that his Eucharistic presence is spiritual or symbolic, but saying that the words he speaks ARE spirit and life. Man can only understand things of the flesh, but with faith in Jesus we can understand the impossible made possible in the Christ.
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@purplecwagon You may not consume blood before the law - Genesis 9:3-4 ; During the law - Leviticus 17-11-12 ; And after the law - Acts 15:20, 29. I figure that God wouldn't contradict Himself. Why would He tell us to abstain from blood in different dispensations, and then say that you must drink His literal blood? Doesn't make sense. All the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ came out on Calvary. God has no blood now.
KJVBaptistGuy 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy You cannot work on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11) Jesus works on the Sabbath. (Mathew 12:7-8) The Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath, and the New Covenant is the fulfillment of the Old. Jesus Christ is Lord of the Old Testament. He does not change it, but fulfills it. He can pick wheat on the Sabbath and give us his flesh and blood to eat and drink because he is God (John 1:1)
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@purplecwagon You can work on the sabbath. No where in the N.T. for the church age dispensation are we commanded to observe the sabbath. It is a ceremonial commandment, not a moral one.
KJVBaptistGuy 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy Where is that in the Bible?
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@purplecwagon Do you know why God never based his Church only on the bible because a book can be interpreted a1000 ways over 1000s of years. So you need an infallible apostolic Church to interpretate the infallible book, known as the bible.
Zebedex 1 year ago

purplecwagon 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy It isn't that we take wine and hokus pokus it into blood. The accidents/species/whatever you want to call it of Bread and Wine remain the same while the SUBSTANCE is changed. In just the same way as the Accidents/species/whatever you want to call it of Jesus Christ remained that of man. He was the Son of God veiled in the presence of a man. Jesus comes to us in the Eucharistic elements veiled in the bread and the wine, but still present.
purplecwagon 1 year ago
@KJVBaptistGuy How do you make Jesus alive in your heart? lip service or true service?Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?"
23 And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."
melchizedic76 1 year ago
@melchizedic76 The book of Matthew is largely written to the Jews. The Lord had not been crucified yet, therefore the New Testament had not begun. Most cults try to get their doctrine on salvation from either Matthew, Acts, and Hebrews. Mat 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." The Lord is preaching the kingdom gospel, not the gospel of grace here.

THE REAL CATHOLIC CHURCH
"Police in the Irish Republic are examining if criminal charges can be brought over a damning report on child sex abuse at Catholic institutions.
The investigation found that sexual abuse was "endemic" in boys' institutions, and church leaders knew what was going on.
The Irish deputy prime minister, Mary Coughlan, described the abuse of children in Catholic-run institutions as one of the "darkest chapters" in Irish history. "
