He's like a thousand years old and he came from the Republican wing that emphasizes realpolitik, something not terribly in vogue with either Republicans or Democrats now. I don't think he has any kind of real influence on US foreign policy post-Reagan. I'd not take his words too seriously as he's not much more than just another foreign policy expert, there is abundance of them, that may talk about all kinds of stuff but usually fail to capture what the sitting administration really plans to do.

And this is basically the essence of US foreign policymakers' measure of foreign country's democracy and liberty - if we can't affect the country's policy, the regime is dictatorial and it has to reform until it serves our best interests.

I don't dispute his "hints", as you call them, and certainly, you've been most informative in your description. However, the thing that I do argue about, is the fact that when someone (that's not from Bosnia like I am) watches this, he's not going to draw a parallel to the situation in Bosnia and Serbia, no matter what you write in the description.

Only solid words coming out of his mouth will suffice for people that don't know the root of the problem, so to speak. Do you understand?

Well, if anyone doubts that there was a crisis within NATO after the collpas of the Berlin Wall, this is ought to change their mind. In addition, here Kissinger explains why the organization is so crucial for the United States to survive. So it's no wonder how far the Americans would go to see that happen.
