Too bad Senator Nelson doesn't really respect his constituents in Fl. I emailed him about this stimulus package that is going to wipe the U.S. out financially. I got an email back of how proud he was to support it & Obama. Unemployment keeps on rising and our 401K's keep going down. He's got a pie in the sky attitude about this money WE'RE shelling out.. Nice that they were allowed to "praise" the stimulus but NO ONE was allowed to debate it.

Clearly, there is a great deal of one time spending in this bill,- not quailty longer term jobs-- note the many, many federal buildings which will be re-built-- whether they need re-building or not. What happens after those buildings are done in 4 or 5 years-- conveniently after the next presidential election ? Another bail out ? Long term jobs can only be generated in the private sector- unless you go socialism. Tax cuts is the answer- tax cuts should have been 50 to 65 % of the bill.

I don't like that a person who had a home financed for 10X what mine is worth could collect 4X what my house is worth because their house is now worth less than they financed it for. I responsibly lived within my means, didn't over extend my credit, paid my house off ... and it is now clear title. It is a modest home, not worth a lot. Why should someone with a half million dollar home get bailed out for multiples of what my house is worth??????

I agree with him. The average person doesn't realize they are trying to stay off a depression that was caused by deregulation. Nelson is a good man and works hard for us. The stimulus is not a bullet it's a cushion..there was no choice.

Bill, the president is still campaigning. That is his strength. I can't imagine why else he is on the road all the time. No one can know what is in the bill because it is being voted on before it can be read. What happened to internet posting for five days before any bill is signed? How does a tax credit for college meet the emergency we face right now? This bill needs some daylight!

Thank you, Sen Nelson, for supporting the President's inititative. W/o this stimulus our economy would surely continue to spiral downward. I remain amazed by my Rep friends who are described as "self made men/women", they seem to not grasp the notion that w/o a strong, vibrant, and orderly economy their hard work would yield far less desirable results. The Reagan ideas of 'government is the problem not the answer' have been proven wrong beyond any doubt yet the Reps are still in denial.

This stimulus bill is supposed to re energize the economy. How does the bill helps small business, the backbone of the economy? Food stamps? Will money for sexual transmitted diseases help create jobs in the private sector? Will the $800 a year given back to the citizens who will have to pay for this train wreck of a bill offer any more than token relief? READ THE BILL SENATOR! I'm a life long democrat and ashamed that my party in two months exceeded 8 years of Republican over spending.

Senator this stimulus will begin to prevent a dangerous slide in Florida.

Local groups here in Tampa are reaching upward to search for ways that both receive this relief, but also employ it into long-term resources and tools for our future.

Relief alone would not rebuild the state, careful rehabilitation of our commutes, mass transit option expansion and a more open local hiring process could significantly repair and rebuild our area.
