Not much a fight, per se. All you can is Brown and Gillies on the ice, but no indication of how Brown got on top of Gillies. This had to be the 85' playoffs. By this time, the Flyers were a better club, as the Islanders appeared to lose their edge after losing in the finals in 84'.

Not much a fight, per se. All you can is Brown and Gillies on the ice, but no indication of how Brown got on top of Gillies. This had to be the 85' playoffs. By this time, the Flyers were a better club, as the Islanders appeared to lose their edge after losing in the finals in 84'.

Brown was definitely one of the toughest guys of all time. There didn't seem to be a fight. Seems like they were on the floor. Did anyone see an acyual fight. Honestly I would place Gillies and Fotiu in the top 5. Probie was tough as nails but could not handle guys who really knew how to box.

If anything Probert seemed to be able to slip punches which is likely the only thing anyone might have taken from boxing into hockey fights. Watch his fights with Miller (in Boston) and Dean Kennedy and Daryl Stanley. Bobby holds guys at arms length and slips his head to the side to avoid punches........

Nystom knew when to fight, and when not too. If you look at his history, Nystrom has fought many big men (Nystrom was not a big guy). Brown was not that great of a fighter. Heck, he wasn't great compared to many others who played for the Flyers. I don't recall Brown every being considered a top tier fighter, although he did have a lot of fights. He wasn't a feared fighter.
