25Million Legal Citizens, Under- or UnEmployed...40Million Illegal Immigrants...take them out of the equation--Surplus 15million jobs...and Employers would be forced to pay better than a Living Wage. Arithmetic is HARD; MacroEconomics is Easy!
Why would they allow that April person into another briefing? She acts like she is in the schoolyard picking a fight. Maybe that kind of behavior is okay on the Jerry Springer show but this is the White House sheesh!!
Why is the administration dodgeing questions on Climategate? Will this cause Obama to end his pursuit of Crap and Trade now that the Global Warming Hoax has been revealed? Why is AL GORE hideing? Is Barbara Boxer so Left that she would rather investigate the persons whom hacked the emails revealing climategate, or is she just that STUPID?.........
Oh and one more what time do the bread lines start on Tuesday? Thanks Comrade!
The global warming issue wasnt debunked by anything yet.
Admin doesnt check in with Gore on every issue, and likely doesnt know what hes thinking.
I would hope somebody is left enough to want to follow the law, which mean investigating people who illegally broke into private computers and took things that were not theirs to take.
Are you saying its stupid to follow the law, or that if climate change was debunked, that absolves criminals of their act?
Why they didn't want to release the data all these years, why did Phil Jones resign, why they destroyed the data after the leak, why is UN investigating?
So...more China loans. Why do you think China is prosperous? They ravage the environment. It's EASY to be prosperous if you rape the environment-and 80% of their water is highly toxic, and many literally war oxygen because the air is so polluted. That's why they are prosperous. USA is following that example. I guess once the environment is gone there's nothing left to fight for so that's one less worry-right? Enjoy purchasing oxygen. It's about $1,000 a month.
Offshore drilling will be legal soon. You wait and see. We will become another China. I hope you enjoy breathing smog and drinking polluted water. Cat and dog meat may even get legalized-just like China!!
PS if you are wondering what is happening to the song birds in America-which are rapidly declining-people LOVE to blame homeless cats. Cats are always the scape-goats. Sorry-cats been around for centuries. It's our industrial pollution that is killing off the birds. Did you know there are NO BIRDS in China? Want to know why? The pollution killed them. I'm not joking either. The POLLUTION kills off the birds. More china loans? You bet. More pollution? You bet!
Can you imagine living in a country with no song birds? We are getting there. People don't care but think about that-no song birds. How incredibly sad.
so if people breathe with oxygen tanks, there's pollution? people use oxygen tanks all the time. stop being over dramatic.and birds die all the time pollution has not changed.
The government has always done what it wanted despite what the people think. So what's the point in debating it? It's a waste of time. I remember when Bush declared war in Iraq-and millions of people protested. Like I said the US government does exactly what it wants. It's always been like that. Why talk about it? You all are going extend the Afghan war anyway so just do it and that's that. We have no say in the matter. And if you THINK you have a say-you are sorely mistaken.
The Afganistan plan is nothing more that a slow retreat designed for Obama to save face at the expense of the lives of our troops. It is despicable. Either win or leave.
In his speech to the nation last night, President Obama claimed that Commanders in Afghanistan repeatedly asked for support to deal with the reemergence of the Taliban, but these reinforcements did not arrive. Such a bald misstatement, at least as it pertains to the period I served as Secretary of Defense, deserves a response. I am not aware of a single request of that nature between 2001 and 2006.
Cookenour: If this is true than the people running the war in Afghanistan on behalf of the America people should all be fired. The point to be made is 1. The USA should never have gone to war with Iraq. 2 The mission/war in Afghanistan needed to be over as soon as possible. But instead the main war was being fought in Iraq when it should have been in Afghanistan. 8 years have been wasted the generals should have demanded more troops to fight the war in afghanistan years ago!
I suspect 2 problems and why Rumsfeld has no right to defend himself.
1) Generals knew there were no troops to send to afghanistan.
Our army is already broke with people going to war past their original contract dates, and simply having a limited amount of troops split across 2 countries.
2) Bushes admin never put much focus on afghanistan and with priority on Iraq, the Generals didnt have much leverage to encourage a differing focus.
There job is to follow orders, and Iraq was priority
They never wanted to focus on the Afghanistan war.
You should see the pictures of the beautifil buildings in Afghanistan, that have been build by the private military, to themselves and their CEO´s they are protected by their own private soldiers, paid by the tax payers.
Don't mind me, I'm just here to laugh at the so-called reporters who ask endless hypotheticals, double-bind questions, veiled indictments and controversy-starters... vs. informational QUESTIONS.
Broadcast news pay these weasels to get cutesy sound bites, and advertisers pay big bucks to get the limited attention spans of those who are entertained... but NOT INFORMED... by their content.
If someone asked a purely informational question at one of these, Gibbs would probably kiss her... or him.
Robert Gibbs, in my opinion, is quite proficient as a White House Press Secretary. I do agree that he should have been more prepared for this press briefing, but this "Iraq withdrawal/ Afghan War" is an extensive topic. Furthermore, these reporters are reveling about his unpreparedness; give the guy some respect.
Some of the questions are dumb or obvious in answer. Have you noticed how many questions are attempts to be "got'cha!" questions? Very few people ask questions that would result in actual information gained and those are the questions typically answered (and the ones Gibbs writes notes about when he can't answer them).
Now, if you consider catching the government in an "oh I don't know" situation as information, good for you. Most of these PBs are a waste of time because of the questions.
Im amazed that guy talking gets nervous so easily at questions. Instead of asking the important questions.
and how Gibbs is trying to just move on from that question.
So its ridicilious to accuse the White house for always talking about them,
they are not.

I have an idea of why July 11 was chosen as decision point for leaving or staying.
Politics.
It would be getting into the final round of 2012 election season.
He will likely consider his options based on if it can help him win.
He will continue the war if he can get away with it, and stop if he cant.
Until then he knows that he has the ability to fight as long as hes in office.

How about questions on Copenhagen and Climategate?
popas7 2 years ago
Whats there to say?
waltermh111 2 years ago
Why should we go sign the treaty in Copenhagen if man-made global warming is not scientifically proven?
popas7 2 years ago
But the information obtained from the hacked servers doesnt disprove the overwhelming evidence that supports man made global warming.
What you mean is why hasnt the president gone to your side yet based on the out of context incomeplete leaked information.
Maybe he hasnt seen a reason to change his mind based on the evidence available to him.
CRU is only one of many groups working on the issue and again, their work hasnt been debunked, and I wouldnt jump to conclusions based on the leak
waltermh111 2 years ago
Why they didn't want to release the data all these years, why did Phil Jones resign, why they destroyed the data after the leak, why is UN investigating?
popas7 2 years ago
Science is acompetitive field like any other, and these researches go on for decades.
With so much work going into their studies, some are very protective of their work.
How can you not understand that?
They release the pertinant data, but want to control the works they create.
Nothing unusual at all from my point of view.
I have yet to hear of any data destruction except for some loss of data from over decade ago.
You can get that data from other groups easily
waltermh111 2 years ago
UN is doing standard stuff.
Leak happens, they investigate, whoopdidoo
Seriously, your complaining about a standard enquiry?
somebody made a charge, investigation occurs, standard
As for phil jones, I dont know, why dont you ask him

I agree.
To me, hes one of the best Press Secs I have seen in the last 9 years.
I enjoy listening to him often because he seems to try and show an interest when the question is worthy, and when its silly, hes silly back.
He makes the show more interesting.
I get a little informed about inner WH thinking and I love when the press core get some backslap at times.
They are no more worth respecting then Gibbs is to me.
In fact, I respect Gibbs more because I expect more from the press.
