In the recording of the song, it's done in layers meaning he starts a new line of the chorus, especially at the key change, while he's still ending the last line...that can't be done live. I actually like the slower tempo of this live sing.

If you wanna see Glenn Medeiros, he is an emcee in a Luau show at a local Hotel in Honolulu Hawaii and a teacher during the day. Of course he still sings his one hit wonder during the show.
