Yea I bet it could if they put some steep gears in the axles. I just flipped though my jegs catloage and the H.O 502 puts out something like 567ft-lb torque.

Somehow that doesn't sound like a lot coming out of a 502 CID engine.

You can get that same kind of horsepower and torque out of a "massaged" Big Block Chevy engine.

I have a professional engine builder here in my city that builds engines for most any type of on track racing .

He is very good and one of my friends works for him.

He runs everything on a dyno before it leaves his shop.

I think a 502 is capable of running closer to 700 ft lbs of torque and in the 600 Hp range.

I hear alot of comments about rice rockets, posers,etc....keep in mind, that alot of those beloved musclecars had 5 litre plus V8's, 4 speed transmissions, and only went 130 to 150 at best...unless supercharged and professionially bored out...they might hit 160 to 180...200 mph was reserved for full blown race cars that were not street legal ...posi traction rear ends, wheelie bars, and racing slicks..not street legal...the euros had Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches that blew muscleheads away.

@BigDapPacino Most muscle cars are used for drag racing though not the track which those Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches were and are meant for. When those muscle cars are customized I find them something worth while putting your money into. Appose to those $200,000 sports car or those $2,000 rice burners. Don't get me wrong about sports cars though haha, if I were given one hell yeah I would take it and do all kinds of wild shit with and to it!
