How did you make this demo? Did you do full spots then slice it down, or did you have it done in a studio? I'm asking becasue I was just told to put onne together and I am lost at trying to find the beds and have no idea what I am doing... lol
Can you point me in the right direction? I have a studio available to use in the next couple days, but need to go in with all my beds and a plan.
I recorded and edited this with my home equipment. I reccomend making a list of professional voice types that you do well (especially ones for commercial and radio) and come up with just a line or two to read. My clips are not from full spots they are lines recorded just for the demo. That way I could show a lot of variety in a short, fast paced reel. If you can add music to set the mood will help greatly. And try to keep the whole thing between 1 and 1.5 minutes. Hope this helps!
Thanks Man... I just did about 60 spots in the studio and now I am doing my mixdowns... Sheezzzzz... It is HARD to get the enrgy that you had in your reel... *sigh* Ahhh well... I am learning a whole new field with using all this software. I'll let you know how the final product turns out.
Thank you very much! Well, I'm still working at it, but since the time this was posted I've done a few professional VO spots as the animated spokesman for a company called World Design Marketing, and I just finished up a few FM radio station sweepers. I'll be working on getting more professional jobs in the coming year. Thanks so much for you kind words and encouragement!
Thanks John good stuff..I've been doing production (writing, voicing & producing)at a talk radio network for years. It's allowed me to do character stuff (sometimes multiple characters interacting with each other..Yikes!) anyway, looking to bust out and do just VO for multiple clients. How's the market and do you need an agent?
Well, to be honest I'm just recoring from home and voicing internet productions right now. I'd love to eventually get the chance to do professional work, but as of now VO is just something I do for fun in my spare time. I really don't know if there is much of a market in my area, but it's near Daytona Beach and I haven't really looked into it much.
Very nicely done man! If I knew what the heck I was doing with audio equipment and my computer I might actually make something like this!
