I would take a good old fashion M16A2 or AR15 with a carry handle iron sights over the new assault rifles we have now. The iron sights dont lie, they will always be more accurate than a red dot or reflex sight. A good shooter doesnt need advanced combat gunsights, folding stocks, flashlights, laser sights, foregrips and all these fancy pieces of equipment.

yeah how is a flashlight and an optical sight ridicioulous? I would say it would be fairly typical (in the field) to have a laser desginator/IR light, forehand grip, and somekind of non iron sights, be they eotech, aimpoint, or acog. As for civis, I would say anyone owning a flattop AR-15rail will likely have a reticle sight (sometimes acog), a forehand rail system, with a flashlight and maybe a forehand grip. The accessories only become ridiciously when they make the gun less functional.
