  • How do you make levels in this?

  • After watching some of these new level videos, I thought of something. In the Nintendo realm you could add a level from the earthbound games, like Giygas (from mother 2) being in the background sending those shockwaves ("you cannot grasp the true form of giygas' attack") out every ten seconds and there are some areas where you won't get affected by them. It should be a big open room. You could also add an ultimate Chimera in (I don't know giygas and the chimera are my favorite enemies in there)

  • You should make a stage where only Sonic can enter and he has to race Metal Sonic ( I don't think the other players are fast enough), just like in Sonic CD!

  • Keep the grunts and Klampsons. Also, put in foes from the doom world and other stuff

  • Isn't this recolored sky sanctuary textures? That was my favorite zone personally.

  • I think having Convetant here is a GOOD idea.After all,unless Mario and company are the only ones that see the warps,there's gonna be someone else running around somewhere else.Hell,I wouldn't mind Convvetant and Doom enemies mixing.

  • That's a thing that I'm looking at. I mean, the plot of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion is that there is a Dimensional Rip. And since Mario enemies are available in non-Mario worlds (as JudgeSpear stated when he introduced Tower of Babel), I think the other way could work.

  • Nice Sonic style level. MKF is starting to fill in a bit more.

    Judgespear or me have a heck of a task ahead: coding Sonic style loops to run though. Groannnn.... the regular slopes don't even work 100% yet :P

    In related new I just today I've created Sonic style monitor powerup boxes. Once this stage is added to the offical source they should replace the "?" blocks.

  • Tell me about it. The regular slopes I'm using for this are messed up, and I'm holding off Stardust Speedway for now because of it.

    Also, because of a technical error, I'm unable to use the one file that has Labyrinth Zone and Sky Deck. I did send it to JS, and I think he'll fix it. I'm still working on other levels, but they'll be in another file.

  • If super springs annoy you, how about some traditional Sonic springs?

  • You can easily max jump off springboards and note blocks by holding down the Jump button as you hit them from above.

  • this is a cool design. would like to see some flying battery bad guys implemented if possible.

    love the music. would play this level just to hearit.

  • Just use Skydecks Act I's music. It was so metal.

  • Definitely. It was my favorite track from Sonic Adventure next to "Crank the Heat Up!!" (I forget the name of the level, but that's the name of the track the level goes to).

  • I would be very pleased if you could keep this music in instead of Sky Deck's music. It doesn't even compare to the awesomeness of Flying Battery! I really like the level layout and palette. It looks really fun!

    I agree with the others who request Ice Cap, Green Hill, and Death Egg (complete with flipping gravity, making Mario run upside down). Those would all be amazing.

  • Would some of the features of the Flying Battery Zone or Wing Fortress appearing on this level be too much to suggest, either?

  • Alright! By popular demand, the Flying Battery Zone: Act II theme will remain. Also, Green Hill Zone and the Death Egg are going to be in the game. I won't code the upside-down stuff, but it should be in. I also plan on a 3-tier boss fight and a hidden rematch with Metal Sonic. I may plan on using Ice Cap.

    as a precursor to this or another level

    just my opinion because that is my favorite level in Sonic 2

  • I feel urged to apologise for any of my comments that may have just been suggestions for more, rather than constructive criticism. So far all this looks great, and I for one am glad that you're willing to show us your progress in the first place.

  • Is Green Hill Zone planned to be made by anyone?(yes :P) I'd like to see how the loops would be incorporated. There always has to be at least ONE loop in a Sonic game, or in this case in a Sonic section of a game.

    Also, Skydeck is teh awesomeness.

  • Damn. Flying Battery would be awesome to listen to here. And that background is kinda killer.

  • And most Sonic games start in a tropical beach or grassland like area!

  • Ice cap is needed! You must make an ice cap and a Green Hill zone!

  • Don't forget Death Egg Zone. Nearly every Sonic game has ended in space, so the Sonic world shall too!

  • If you guys can do a 2d representation of a 3d Sonic level, than maybe you guys should try to do a 2d representation of a 3d Mario level. Like from Mario Sunshine or Mario Galaxy or something. Just an idea.

  • This video reminded me of just how much I hated Sonic & Knuckles. I could never beat it as Knuckles, and the music just pissed me off for most of the time.

  • Great work so far, as always. I personally think the track 'Egg Fleet' from Sonic Heroes would be good for that final portion you're talking about.

  • That was one of my favorite tracks in Sonic Heroes, behind the Egg Knight theme and Team Dark's theme. I may plan on using it. I'm also going to use the Flying Battery theme in another level.

  • I would love to recreate the first stage of Sonic Adventure 2, City Escape. It will have an Omochao there you can pick up, abuse, and use as a weapon. It will have a truck chase at the end.

    Regarding your tile layers, did you use Layer 9 for your tiles? For the climbable fencing, place those tiles on Layer 10 so that the Koopas will appear behind it when they are supposed to.

    Let me know when you're ready to have your levels sent. I'll send them and my own source code to another coder who's adding a butt-load of new features, so that he can merge all three of our works into one source.

  • I did use layers, JS, and I'll take your advice on that. I'm also itching to do Starlight Speedway from Sonic CD and at least one Sonic Advance stage.

  • I used to love this level in Sonic Adventure!

    It had so many unique parts to it, and I thought the concept was brilliant.

    How about the blue Buzzers or the turrets as stage enemies?

    Anyway, looking great so far. I look forward to the finished level!

  • mmmm.......very nice job i'm really liking the design of the levels

    i have an idea as a precursor to the sky deck level can you implement a sky chase level(or something similiar) i made a previous post but im just repeating the idea if u or JS doesn't want to do it its fine with me but i just wanted to get that out there.

    Nice work though!!
