  • VERY WELL PRODUCED.

  • what is the retirement on a rail road like i know you dont contribute to SS but is the benefits good/

  • Nicely done.

  • hes in jacksonville fla, where does he see snow??

  • Lol they didn't interview the engineer because of the shifting schedule, long hours, dangerous situations, and complete loss of your non-railroading life.

  • I worked for Santa Fe Railway for 41 years as a Fireman, Brakeman and Throttle Jerker, I have enjoyed all my years. It's a great career for all youngsters looking for work.

  • Csx sucks

  • @thehorseshoecurve Go fuck your mother.

  • @cnrail16 No you go fuck the CEO of CSX have a nice day ;)

  • @thehorseshoecurve Why would you even say the CSX sucks in the first place? It's not! I AM ANGRY AT YOUR REMARK!

  • @cnrail16 Am lets give you some facts they fired a well healthy ederly woman beacuse she said csx railroad by accident. They dont treat there works right or the engines.so before you say anything else you can go back to your cn railroad

  • @cnrail16 o ya read maplemanz comment

  • Getting a job for the railroad is about as unbearable as a trip to a concentration camp these days.

  • 8:34 - 8:37 turn on CC Transcribe Audio, absolutely hilarious! I've been thinking about a job on the rails, but I'm still not sure.

  • Granfather was a signal supervisor

  • what can you expect??is that management will try to get you fired from day 0ne!

and you are expected to put the railroad first above everything, even your marriage.

  • @maplemanz dont forget never home!!!

  • @maplemanz And that's why they hire people that's COMMITTED to the work force.

  • I just got invited to an interview for Conductor Trainee. Your video, as well as others I have viewed, at least give me an idea of what to expect. I am not a rabid railfan, but I have loved trains since I was a kid (am now 35). This is the first opportunity I have had to go to work for one of them. To me its a dream come true. I have driven semi's, worked in the oilfield, and excavation but I am more excited by this prospect than any other.

  • I'd love to work at a railroad. Been trying for 10 years I gave up. And they can't come close to what I make now

  • "Safe" & "Efficient", but without care to it's employees... especially conductors.

  • Man, CSX is a fantastic company! I'd love it there

  • @SuperSexyBoiGod yea that only happens in fantasy land :P

  • Being a railfan vs being a professional railroader are two completely opposite worlds. Railroading careers in operations and the maintenance fields are challenging, and full of dangers where 2nd chances are not always the outcome. Thick skin and a cool thinking head are "must haves".

  • @ACLTony I agree with you ACLTony. They are opposite worlds. But, sometimes opposites attract. One of my best engineers is a huge railfan. And I have others who work for me out here who are fantastic employees and love railroading.

It is sort of like the mechanic who works on your car. The mechanic who loves working with his hands and enjoys automobiles makes a great employee.

My own opinion is most railfans would make lousy employees. But the good ones are unbeatable.

  • being a conductor would be sick

  • HOW DO YUH GET THE JOB??EITHER FOR CSX,BNSF,CN?

  • csx...safe? my ass!

  • @youbite1 so true! lol

  • i think saw a b36-7!

  • Gracias.

  • Great job! I learned a lot from it and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for putting it together. I am going to post the link on my Multiply site as I write about a lot of railroad related stuff and many in my audience have but a limited understanding of the industry.

  • Thanks! I like to know you enjoyed the video. I´m trying to give my part to the railroad culture. Bye!

  • The part 2 is here! , don´t miss it.

  • This really is a great video.. Advertising money well spent by CSX.

  • Thanks!, originally they were 5 different videos. I joined them into one larger. Have a nice day!
