  • 5:01 to 5:05 I came

  • 2:28-2:35 is ridiculous.! smh

  • YOU'RE MY HERO

  • Look at his face... it seems he enjoys it more than sex!

  • @uriangatobataclan I know I do...

  • i hope this is playing while im floating around in heaven someday. :)

  • Wow, this was so nice. Just discovering Mark Guiliana - he's incredible!

  • Somebody out there please tell me why this can't be TOP 40??? THIS IS THE SHIT!!!!......grooving hard mayn!

  • this rules. haters are clueless.

  • forget about the tempo...this is boring man.

  • just going to point out the obvious - you have to have insanely good time before you can play like Mark and mess around with it

  • I agree, however there are boundaries in which a drummer can be 'differen't or 'unexpecting' It can't hurt to play something melodically founded now and again. If a drummer's aim is to be 'minimalist' as it were, if he/she is trying to prove a point, the point should be made than moved out of. Surely someone can't enjoy playing so 'right wing' all the time... Just something to think about.

  • @leonzioooo What an ignorant statement that was.

  • This guy is crap. he always loses the beat at some point, look at what happens on 1:21. Very hesitating drummer.

  • @leonzioooo I can't tell if you are kidding or not. If you aren't, he didn't lose to beat, he's just leaving a space. His time is perfect, he never "loses the beat". If you are going to try to defend that tripe that he's "crap", post some videos of yourself.

  • @Jazzguitar00 He loses he beat constantly. Please man, "leaving a space" lmao!. He is the most hesitaing drummer I've seen to get so much attention. BTW, your logic (or absense of it) is really amusing to me, lets see: according to you, if I post a video of myself palying the drums and turn out to be a good drummer, then Guiliana is crap, but if i dont post a video then you are right and Guiliana is great. Are YOU joking? c'mon confess, you are a comedian, right? do you do children's parties?

  • @leonzioooo

Marks style is intentional. He's exploring the phrasing, I don't think I've heard him play a song the exact same twice. That's the appeal of his style, that in the moment feel. I personally like the spontaneity.

Do you really want him to show the one every bar? this isn't pop drumming, he has the right to do a little exploring.

  • @VQuiZ11 While you say that this guy's style is "intentional" I say that he can’t play any other way but this chaotic, tense, abrupt, disjointed and hesitating way. For me it’s not about “showing the one” in every bar, just listen to drummers like Pierre Favre or Trilok Gurtu for starters, but if you are going to incur in a style that is not constrained by the concept of a “bar” then just do it well, do not hit randomly, lose the beat and fuck up everywhere with the excuse of “exploring”.

  • @leonzioooo

To each his own. I appreciate the ideas and phrasing Mark makes use of. You may not like it, that doesn't make Mark bad, it means you don't like how he plays. "fucking up everywhere" is just a stupid statement.

Mark can play more than the jittery style that he's played with Cohen. Check out the Krantz video. Or check out his stuff with Gretchen Parlato or Jeff Taylor.

  • @VQuiZ11 listen to his stuff with avishai cohen!

  • @00haTmaN00 I know. It is amazing. Some of the most amazing music i've ever heard. I'm kind of surprised they aren't more well known, at least by musicians. Incredible.

  • @leonzioooo lol you have no idea what ur talking about.

  • @niggerfuckshitreborn Oh really? LMFAO! And you do? hehehehe Look at the way you call yourself. You obviously know who you are, mate. Go fuck yourself, skidmark.

  • @leonzioooo I didn't say that you posting a video would empirically prove anything. It was just a suggestion.

Anyway, I could give two shits about it, I'm just saying, this guy plays with some of the best musicians in New York (Gretchen Parlato, Taylor eigsti, Avishai Cohen, Wayne Krantz). You may not like his playing but if he was terrible and didn't have 'time', he wouldn't be playing with these people.

  • @leonzioooo I dont see the issue. He turns on the other snare?

  • @leonzioooo Idiot troll, go away!

  • do i even need to point out the whole "YOU'RE my hero" thing?

  • this groove is so amazing dirty and filthy good!
