@MeyerFilms I haven't used this camera yet but I do know that no camera will get as good sound quality as a ZOOM portable recorder or something similarly made for sound. I bought a zoom for 200 and it gets phenomenal, studio-quality sound which I just mix into the video later. Also, that way, you can have the mic wherever the best sound is and the cam where the best view is.

Tell, whether a good color rendition at this videocamera? You did this video indoors. Whether I would like to know it is lit in the street and whether colors grow dull? As far as I know at it a small matrix. I very much want to buy a videocamera. On professional while money isn't present. @chetabumposess09 You charge the batteries by using the included charger. Charging via USB doesn't work...

Also the batteries don't last long. They usually last for about 20 minutes. Make sure you get a spare battery! (Lesson learned)

i bought JVC Everio GZ-HM30 yesterday and today i tried to record the look of my house and after several recordings which were not until 10 mins, the battery went dead. I was told by the seller that the battery would last at least for 40 mins to one hour something. I am so bothered by this, i wondered if i had bought the choice because the battery sucks. There may be a big possibility error in my usage but how to prevent the batter from going dead after recording 10-minute long video... thanks

@getactivexx Actually man, these files are AVCHD lite files, windows movie maker will not detect them. Not sure if its any different shooting non-HD footage but windows movie maker will NOT detect the high def video files.

dude, you should use the software, pretty sure you can use it to up-convert to 1080p. Also, did urs come with that sd card? I just got one of these cameras. Charged the battery for 2 hours and 10 minutes like the manual says and it was dying 5 minutes of use. Hope its just the 1st charge. I just traded in a canon elph 300hs for this thing. The elph had razor sharp video but only 30fps and only 5x optical zoom. Im hoping the upconversion to 1080p will give me equal quality

SO i am really hoping I can upconvert to some razor sharp 1080p and that this battery will hold a charge for at least an hour or I think I am going to get something else.

I think you can fit a Fisheye because if you got a large magnetic fisheye it comes with the rings the stick on to the camera . I was going to get one and try it . You would have to put on the flat part of the lens where you film and that little cage that covers when you close the camera off . So I was thinking you put on there and then you zoom in.

Nice video I just got this camera, I love it but I was wondering if you could help me out, when I import the videos from the camera onto my computer there's no way to watch it besides through the software which is provided, it comes up as a CED file and doesn't seem to work with windows media player which is what I usually use, I would really appreciate some help. thanks.

@rebbirob haha I know what you mean I was very confused at first. If you've downloaded the software from the disc you should have something called MediaBrowser, there you can view the footage you've recorded. Now I found an option at the bottom which says "share", if you click it, all of your footage appears and you can drag and drop your foootage into boxes at the bottom, then you click next, it says where the footage will be saved, then click start and the footage will be converted :)

@AaronSpencerLiddle That bar on the bottom that you're talking about (with the 'share' option) for me, shows up for one second-while the program is loading and then disappears. So I end up having to click on it as quick as possible. Why does it do that??? :/
