  • "I watched you walking around in camouflage; all the green army suits and heavy boots leaving prints in the Earth as if you owned it." I'm tired of discrimination: alien this, illegal that. We are all brothers and sisters born to the same mother, this beautiful, green Earth we take for granted. You can not own Earth; take a map and draw an invisible line on our mother, then call it yours. Borders can not contain us. They do not separate us. Your set mentality does...I know it's not her point.

  • Wow!

  • how do you get into brave new voices..i wanna sign up?

  • POWERFUL.!

  • "Dancing to the beat of bombs" I loved her poem

  • one tear just fell from my eye . this is so amazing & true . I am anti- war, pro-peace . I don't salute the military at all because they destroy lives whether they realize it or not, and don't think -- "what if I were in their shoes?" I could never kill a child so full of innocence , or a woman needed to raise her children , or a man -- the provider of his home. War destroys & ruins lives.

  • wow......got the chills from 0:15-3:55...

  • i love seeing alysia react

  • "SUV's running on Iraqi blood!" SAY IT

  • Would you have been able to do this in Iraq under the dictatorship of Saddam?

  • i dont agree with some of the stuff she said, but it was a good poem

  • I laugh when white people tell others to get the hell of their land, because they forget that their fathers and their forefathers are German, British, French, Irish, and so and so forth.

They took it from the tribes of america, the Navajo, the Hopis and their ancestors.

Those tribes, those 'savages, monkeys, trash' are the rightful owners.

  • @mangafreek3295 I COMPLETELY agree with you on that one. People also always say be proud of where you came from, but to be completely honest, Its hard to be proud of where you come from, I have a lot of European blood in me and I am DISGUSTED of what my ancestors have done. Almost making an entire race of BEAUTIFUL people extinct.

  • @mangafreek3295 why dont you kick yourself out your a immigrant too

  • @jerkyace25 well I don't discriminate and persecute people for the way they look, what race and color they are. I'm not arrogant that I claim to have "white power" over the people.

  • whether you are white, black, hispanic, arabic, doesnt matter, you get discriminated against.

As humans we believe that if one person from a race does something, or acts a certain way then they ALL are the same. But that isnt the case and it's wrong to look at things that way.

  • DAMN... DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!

  • Very strong. I like it alot :)

  • Why is it that constructive criticism gets hid?

This is an AMAZING performance. I loved it, I think she's great. I think her message is solid.

But just because someone doesn't agree doesn't mean their comment isn't adding to the conversation.

  • what does she say at 3:07

"you see this piece"..."was once mine"

  • @yellowbaloonpop she said "this piece of land was once mine"

  • "this piece of land was once mine"

    i believe :P

  • @yellowbaloonpop "You see this piece of land was once mine."

    That is what she says.

  • wow she went it,that shit was hard

  • This is deep. Expose the U.S.

  • this is why i love poetry so much. regardless right or wrong, theyre your feelings. & they should be expressed no matter WHAT or WHO is to blame. people say her anger is wrongfully placed, regardless how YOU feel, theyre still HER opinions & beliefs. & if you listen closely, shes talking about a soldier she possibly had something with, wether friends or something more, not just some random soldier she saw

  • polititions may be responsible.. but thy arn't the ones doing the killing.. well they are, but not physically... this was so powerfull and amazing!

  • she sounds exactly like someone from Def Poetry..

  • beautiful and i love that accent

  • Very passionate.

  • that made me tear up

  • that me cry

  • Awesome. Keep it up sister.

  • Don't spit out your retarded words. This girl has such amazing way of expressing herself. Such anger, rightful anger. I would be angry to had i gone through half the shit she went through. I am half arab and i too get disrcriminated against.

She was just expressing herself (what would50do) what the fuck do you do with her hands when you are angry? Clench your fist right? Well, she was speaking her angry. Not just with words, but with her body.

HER ACCENT IS NOT ANNOYING! ITS BEAUTIFUL.

  • @SalemHellKat You write to send a message to the people of "judge not aysha" and yet you use words that sting so deep to people who did not choose to be the way they are simultaneously: " retarded words" If you choose to stand up for people and their rights perhaps you should choose your words more appropriately. i respect your place of intent but not your vocabulary...

  • @HelloSexKitten Retarded: –verb (used with object)

1.to make slow; delay the development or progress of (an action, process, etc.); hinder or impede.

    to hinder or impede

I'm sure she wasn't referring to mentally disabled people; but merely using the word as it was meant to be used.

  • @SalemHellKat Those who have something horrible to say are not worth our time.. Waste your words not on those who can not understand the inner workings and voices of these beautiful people that have the courage to let out all their pain.. and all there anger... in front of the world...

continue to support and focus your energy on the good..

  • @SalemHellKat accent?

  • @SalemHellKat stop spitting out your opinions like their facts, dumb shit. just listen to the poem.

  • agreed. she's very passionate and her piece is absolutely amazing, but her anger is slightly misplaced, tho I could definitely understand why it would fall on the soldiers. But yes, it should rest on the heads of the politicians who authorized the bloodshed.

  • She had a right to be angry though. You have to admit. She watched all of this, and you're telling me she can't harbor any sort of anger? She didn't see politicians. She saw men. I should know. My aunts and uncles saw the same thing.

  • please do not think me rude, but if you think her anger is at the soldiers, then you aren't listening to what she's saying. She's using the soldier as a symbol of what we stand for.

It's hard all around. I should know. I made the cross into Iraq all those years ago.

  • Her anger is targeted at the person who she feels was responsible. She probably doesn't care to much for the politicians either.

  • Wow so much anger!!! why? just stop!!! She is a great writer and poet!!! Can you not talk shit please!!

  • u just dnt kno how to appricieate a masterpiece hater

  • Grow up.

  • wowmoviescores: i said the same thing without reading ur words...powerful

  • dang! damn. damn. damn. that is wow!! wow!! i kept getting goose bumps!! awesome!

  • i don't know if anyone can relate, but everytime i hear an awesome poem [like this one] i automatically itch my head afterwards. It's like saying... Gyod damn that was good.

[and for the stupid people]... It is NOT because I have dandruff... lmao

  • i could picture what she was talking about

  • I Love this!!

  • For typing i use my fingers, so say we all.

  • thats deep
