"I watched you walking around in camouflage; all the green army suits and heavy boots leaving prints in the Earth as if you owned it." I'm tired of discrimination: alien this, illegal that. We are all brothers and sisters born to the same mother, this beautiful, green Earth we take for granted. You can not own Earth; take a map and draw an invisible line on our mother, then call it yours. Borders can not contain us. They do not separate us. Your set mentality does...I know it's not her point.
one tear just fell from my eye . this is so amazing & true . I am anti- war, pro-peace . I don't salute the military at all because they destroy lives whether they realize it or not, and don't think -- "what if I were in their shoes?" I could never kill a child so full of innocence , or a woman needed to raise her children , or a man -- the provider of his home. War destroys & ruins lives.
years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand;sorry i didnt want that happening to me
Great speach but i've been there i watched 12 year old kids strapped with bombs to follow there orders. So if i had to put em on there knees to make sure nobody else dies over stupid shit then i will
I laugh when white people tell others to get the hell of their land, because they forget that their fathers and their forefathers are German, British, French, Irish, and so and so forth.
They took it from the tribes of america, the Navajo, the Hopis and their ancestors.
Those tribes, those 'savages, monkeys, trash' are the rightful owners.
@mangafreek3295 I COMPLETELY agree with you on that one. People also always say be proud of where you came from, but to be completely honest, Its hard to be proud of where you come from, I have a lot of European blood in me and I am DISGUSTED of what my ancestors have done. Almost making an entire race of BEAUTIFUL people extinct.
@jerkyace25 well I don't discriminate and persecute people for the way they look, what race and color they are. I'm not arrogant that I claim to have "white power" over the people.
whether you are white, black, hispanic, arabic, doesnt matter, you get discriminated against.
As humans we believe that if one person from a race does something, or acts a certain way then they ALL are the same. But that isnt the case and it's wrong to look at things that way.
faah i feel how her pain and anger... feeling helpless and cant understand whats goin on at a young u r faced with traumasing n life scarin events....hope and faith will get u thru,, dont give up, freedom is worth fightin and dying for....life without Freedom is not a life....
you now me . how like woman .BEUTYFULL to my eyes . wend you can see her soul whit nothing to cover the fell and atraction... some times brain to brain. but not usual to me.
POETRY IS A PART OF MY LIFE..I WANT TO KNO HOW I CAN JOIN NEW VOICES, OR SOMETHING LIKE IT IN THE EREA OF BOSTON....CAN SOME ONE DIRECT TO THE RIGHT PLCE?
loved it but damn you shouldn't be mad at the soldires they can only and have to take orders look at it this way would you feel the same if the u.s was on the other side of the gun and the reason we must check people of susfishion is for safety
this is why i love poetry so much. regardless right or wrong, theyre your feelings. & they should be expressed no matter WHAT or WHO is to blame. people say her anger is wrongfully placed, regardless how YOU feel, theyre still HER opinions & beliefs. & if you listen closely, shes talking about a soldier she possibly had something with, wether friends or something more, not just some random soldier she saw
Damn shes good !!! luv it, it made me hav tears in my eyes. Those words wit so much meanings n pressure of so much truth omg I hav no other words for it.

I think her performance style is over-gestured and I think she does get across her point but she needs to be more delicate especially on the more meditative parts of her poem. It appears a bit rushed and bombastic, though still fluid. Shes still young and I think she'll meld with the stage and her more as she continues.
Don't spit out your retarded words. This girl has such amazing way of expressing herself. Such anger, rightful anger. I would be angry to had i gone through half the shit she went through. I am half arab and i too get disrcriminated against.
She was just expressing herself (what would50do) what the fuck do you do with her hands when you are angry? Clench your fist right? Well, she was speaking her angry. Not just with words, but with her body.
@SalemHellKat You write to send a message to the people of "judge not aysha" and yet you use words that sting so deep to people who did not choose to be the way they are simultaneously: " retarded words" If you choose to stand up for people and their rights perhaps you should choose your words more appropriately. i respect your place of intent but not your vocabulary...
@SalemHellKat Those who have something horrible to say are not worth our time.. Waste your words not on those who can not understand the inner workings and voices of these beautiful people that have the courage to let out all their pain.. and all there anger... in front of the world...
continue to support and focus your energy on the good..

eh..it was alright. I think her perception is a little misconstrued. She targets her anger at soldiers which isnt fair. Dont get me wrong, I didnt like the fact that we invaded Iraq. But she should be targeting her aggression towards the politicians that approved of that action.
agreed. she's very passionate and her piece is absolutely amazing, but her anger is slightly misplaced, tho I could definitely understand why it would fall on the soldiers. But yes, it should rest on the heads of the politicians who authorized the bloodshed.
She had a right to be angry though. You have to admit. She watched all of this, and you're telling me she can't harbor any sort of anger? She didn't see politicians. She saw men. I should know. My aunts and uncles saw the same thing.
please do not think me rude, but if you think her anger is at the soldiers, then you aren't listening to what she's saying. She's using the soldier as a symbol of what we stand for.
It's hard all around. I should know. I made the cross into Iraq all those years ago.
i don't know if anyone can relate, but everytime i hear an awesome poem [like this one] i automatically itch my head afterwards. It's like saying... Gyod damn that was good.

1.to make slow; delay the development or progress of (an action, process, etc.); hinder or impede.
to hinder or impede
I'm sure she wasn't referring to mentally disabled people; but merely using the word as it was meant to be used.
