  • Could I attach a Rode VideoMic Pro to this camcorder?

  • I'm not sure about that but you can purchase a Sony Mic that that is compatible with this camcorder

  • Ale masz wielkie muchy na kwiatkach

  • Nice garden.

  • 1) What converter do you use?

    2) how do you deal with this focus function, is it just done manualy with a switch in the front?

  • The new HD 1080p service from youtube is fantastic - with great compression and resolution choice button.

This video example is uploaded to youtube at 480p - NOT the 1080p Full HD supported now from youtube. You may upload correct example again. Please use tripod - it would improve your videos a lot.

  • jsut a little question...if i wass gonna buy a camcorder,,what would make me change my mind to HDR-SR11..instead of the older VX-2000 or VX2100?!

  • Hmmm well from what I just read about the VX-2000 or VX2100 is that they are good however a bit old now and they are the whats called 'professional entry cameras' the big ones.

If you're really serious about shooting footage, I'd go for something like that but newer. It will cost a lot more thou of course

The HDR-SR11 simply has so many features and can record such beautiful HD footage that I couldn't go past it.

  • Tramadol--can you upload these files to pc and use Adobe Premiere and/or Mac and use final cut pro??

  • Yes you can, but it has to be Adobe Premiere 7.0 or above (pretty sure) as the older ones won't support the AVCHD codec..

I don't use a MAC but I'm sure the newest version of Final Cut Pro will accept these files no problem.

Mac's are the true work-horses for video editing.

  • nice cam

  • >>>>CLICK ON - 'Tramadol200mg' in blue writing

And the first video in the top left hand corner is the same as this video but in PURE HD....Much Better

  • I just bought this camcorder from Ebay. The problem is that when I zoom in or out at a maximal speed, one can hear the motor relatively loud, even in the recorded video (?)

Is this the case with the new cameras too? The camcorder i bought is supposed to be bought on June 2008. I would appreciate your help.

  • Hmmm... I have to say that does not sound right to me unfortunately. You shouldn't be hearing anything when zooming in or out.

If I was you, I would do my best to try and negotiate a replacement of your cam who ever you have bought it off....

  • Can´t afford it

:(, i really want it!! its my dream camera!!

  • Hi. I was wondering, whats the best HD HandyCam around? Because im planning on buying one. Tnx

  • This one! haha If you're ok with the new AVCHD codec (which is good and is progressively getting more popular now)

  • I just bought this camera, and i just cant get the hang of it, i was wondering what you use to edit your footage and what file format you use when uploading it to youtube ?

  • I use mainly - Corel Ulead Studio, Nero Vision Express 6 or higher or even the software it should come with.

As for uploading it onto YouTube, if its too much of a burden to edit it first via software, then just copy your video straight from your camera to the computer and upload it. (it will take a long time obviously especially if it's in HD but it can be done)

  • i got it today! gonna play with it now!

  • Hello Everyone! i really need help because i got this camera and i only have a mac computer and i dont want to run windows on it so the camera can upload to it. my question is...

can i upload videos to my mac and what cable do i need.(ihave the HD-SR11)-Thanks!!!!! and please help me and send me a PM!

  • Personally I'm not familiar with Macs, but I am very sure that when I read the owner's manual, there was a dedicated section for "Mac User's"

    Don't be lazy lol..read your owner's manual.

In any case, your Mac has a USB port somewhere doesn't it?

If it does, then that's all you have to do - Use the USB cable which came with your camera, and plug one end into the camera and the other straight into a USB slot in your MAC.

Done....Then you simply transfer everything that way.

  • i have that camera, and a mac, all u need is the plugs they give, and imovie 08 (which comes preinstalled)

    your fine :D

  • you should reencode and upload this again. 720p videos are up now... Wonder if your 1080 would look better? Just encode it to the max! just keep the filesize under a gig.

  • Yeh I might try that.

I still have this video as an original shot at 1920x1080 16:9 16,000kbs variable.

  • lol even for a youtube movie this looks amazingly high quality

  • Exactly, and read my description to the right, its not even half the quality what it could be.

Interlaced with this cam does not bother me due to the awesome up scaling features now found in all new software, LCD's, Plasmas ect...

BY THE WAY...SO KEWL HOW NOW YOUTUBE INSTALLED THIS 'WIDE VIEW' IF YOU WANT TO SHOOT AT 16:9 :D:D...NICE ONE YOU TUBE

  • lol

trying to show off the camera quality on youtube. smart xD

seriously, as someone said, upload a raw file somewhere. youtube is not the place to show off the quality of your camcoder...cuz it pretty much kills it.

  • let us download the raw file from rapidshare of something!

  • I could do that if u really want it

  • yes, i really want it... thanks!

  • If you want OK

where can I post the link to it.

    File is about 120mg i think..and only 1:28

This gives you the bitrate as maximum. Use Nero Showtime to view them.

As AVCHD is still new, some players can not read the new codec.

Let me know what to do.

  • This camera can't record in progressive unlike Canon's HV30, & JVC's HD6 Everio which can record in 50p (50fps). That's a shame on such a great spec camcorder.

  • thats no problem.... if you check it says 'upper field first' which means that it is interlaced. If you use bob deinterlace it will convert to 50fps which is pretty nice ;)

  • so does that mean it can be recorded in progressive by using the bob deinterlaced mode just to be sure?

  • Click on 'Tramadol200mg' and watch the newest video in pure HD I uploaded as a raw .MTS file which YouTube now allows. This will give you an idea what footage would look like say on a 60 inch 1920x1080 plasma that supports AVCHD.

  • would you say the hd6 is a better camera?

  • Thanks for the video. It really demonstrates the power of the optical zoom. I'm interested in possible purchasing this camcorder before the holidays. Any possible of posting a very short clip to Rapidshare or other file hosting service?

  • Great footage!

  • i Have the hdr-sr11 and need to be able to convert from the masive size a 10 min vid, How can i covert to 512kbps? thanks j

  • These are the steps I would recommend:

    1. Use Nero Vision Express 7 or onwards to convert your file into MPEG2 or AVI.

    2. Then use Windows Movie Maker as this program allows you to choose the final output size in MB & Kbs and comes standard with Windows XP. I'm sure Vista would have it too or similar if not better.

I recommend Nero as its easiest to use. The other programs which handle AVCH are - Corel's ULead (one of my fav) Pinnacle Studio 11 & onwards, Sony Vegas 8 & onwards + a few more.

  • I read a lot of reviews that talk about the AVCHD being extremely difficult to process on your PC. How much work does it take for you to upload, cut and post these videos?

  • yea i have it and it takes soo much time time to convert it for youtube quality

    then it becomes bad quality

it takes up a lot of space

  • Yes, AVCHD can be a pain as its still a fairly new format. Did you read my video description to the right? For some strange reason, sometimes you tube won't allow uploading a putre .Mt2 file (AVCHD) as it says "Unreadable Format", yet at other times, it will upload it..I don't know why this happens, so like my description says, i had to convert the file to 'half-hd' - 1280 x 720p 16:9 16,000kbs variable. At other times for testing purposes, it allowed me to upload the raw file. Strange....

  • It doesn't take me that long to cut/snip. The part that does take long is the rendering. Rendering raw HD files like AVCHD is painfully time consuming especially if you dont have a dual core or multi-core processor.

After cutting and changing what I want to, I usually just click on 'start rendering' and leave the computer for a few hours.

  • If you wish to convert a raw .Mt2 file (AVCHD) into a standard DVD file (720x576p)4:3 or 16:3 8000kb/s max, I recommend using Pinnacle Studio versions 11 and up, as I find that converting high definition videos with this program, produces best final video quality. HOPE THAT HELPED.
