Scale warbirds are evil regards forgiveness of even the slightest error, you wont find a single scale warbird with the promo "suitable for beginners" what they actually mean is, this thing will bit your hand off at the earliest opportunity, I felt every wing rib crack on that, every spar. RIP P51, I hope you gave it a decent burial and torched it like we do when our club looses an airborne member. (SAVE THE RADIO GEAR!)
Yeah, but it was an F4U Corsair, not a Mustang. Otherwise, you are exactly right.
I'm amazed at the skill of the pilots who fly these fighters that are notorious beasts to fly at full scale, let alone smaller scales that require unforgiving reaction times from a third-person perspective.
As the cameraman, everybody hates me the day it crashes, but, hopefully, I've preserved some memory of a beautiful scale warbird for posterity.
@misteroriginal Seems the video has been pulled, but here a link to the thread with everyone talking about it, I think its become a FAA legal issue now: flyinggiants website search forums for Real Biplane crashes into an $8,000 46% r/c plane , youtub does not the links
the slo motion explains it all.. Tip Stall.. pilot got the plane to slow (stall) and had very little washout built into the wing if any and it rolled over...
poor beautiful plane.... too bad for the need for a fast landing

looked very realistic even while crashing in slow mo

Didn't it though? I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates a realistic crash. I'm quite fond of those jets that go fireball when they hit.

You guys make me feel guilty!

To make it even more painful, I heard the pilot is 78 years old.
