That is what people want.
And if that is what they want...the dark ages... with kings and harems and slaves...then I, or others, will rule that world with an iron fist if that is what they want.
Oh dear, according to Ron Paul's logic, the US should be friend's with totalitarian regimes such as Sudan and North Korea! The Ron Paul's at the time of the rise of Nazism are the apeasers, such as the British PM Chamberlain, who signed a pact with the Nazi's. One only has to look at history to see where such stance would lead to.
It might work better then propping up totalitarian regimes, then go off to war with them ten years later. Just look at history! Saddam was our buddy! So was bin Laden! Now that joker in Pakistan is a "valuable friend". Maybe we should just trade with people and not make these shifty friends. Huh? But of course you know about history right? You are very familiar with the trade corporations of 14th century Italy? This market plan were using hasn't happened over and over ending in failure right?
Of course, it was a disgrace, a tragedy, that our past goverments have been dealing with totalitarian regimes and theocratic fascists in the past. However, it doesnt mean we cant change that. The highest moral standpoint is to not support such entities and do everything we can to bring them down. We need to make a stand. There is no co-existance with totalitarian ideologies.
Yes we should stop it. Sure there is. You let them do their stupid backward what ever. Their incompetence will ruin their nation. Free trade with our culture will show them how much better our mind set is. After the cancerous body of the regime collapses the people will hopefully be ready for freedom. If not they'll have yet another regime. What doesn't work is FORCE. You can't force freedom, its human nature. All you need to do is stay out of the way of justice. Entropy takes care of the rest.
So are we just gonna stand and watch people under oppression and at times under the threat of murder? Just like what we are doing now with Sudan? Guess what, its too late now for those who have been massacered! Its part of our moral resposibility to help those under such circumstances. Its not as if the people are not ready for freedom, of course they are.
The stance should be that we support, and would provide assistance, to those who fight for a secular liberal democracy. If it includes help through military action, then so be it!
We are being oppressed! We are only allowed to use one private banks notes as "currency". We have to report half our information to the government and pay heavy taxes on labor. Its strongly recommended that our children report to government propaganda centers daily and once they are signed into the system it becomes mandatory. We have no such moral responsibility. The only moral responsibility we have is rationality. The choice to think. Is my life my own responsibility? Right or wrong?
We have no moral responsibilities? This tells me allot of your moral standings. So you do not agree that if ones life is under the threat of murder, a normal moral human being has the responsibility to help prevent such event?
Their is no such thing as "normal". Their are three types of crimes. Murder, theft, and slavery. A governments only valid function is to protect its citizens from these crimes. NOT to police the world. Thinking that warfare will end warfare is foolish. If nations would like admittance to the Union that can apply for statehood. If they want to be ruled by a king or slaver they can do that as well. People are free, they choose to accept chains. We can stop this nonsense anytime we want.
Perhaps i should not have used the word "normal". However, dont you think that certain stance or actions have a higher moral stance than others? And that helping someone under the threat of murder is possibly one of the highest, if not the highest, moral stand to take in such circumstances?
What is wrong with policing the world when you hold the higher moral ground?
Like all charity. If you can afford it. Then by all means do so. If the world asks for it, and we can afford it then yes. But at this time we cannot. We have no reorder our government and start caring about our selfs.
Yes, in this current world, we are still under "oppression" or shall i say exploited. Perhaps not to the same degree as in totalitarian states. We live in a capitalist system which needs the exploitation of the working class in order to exist. Yes, we should fight our own causes but that does not mean that we should forget other good causes because we ourselves are not directly under threat!
We do not live in a capitalistic society. We live in a mercantile consumer society. The differences are vast. Their are no such thing as "classifications" of humans. We are individuals. Morality is a choice, and is choice. To be moral is to think. For thought is the choice, RIGHT or WRONG. Selfishness is the prime virtue, or value. You have no value higher then yourself and your life must therefor be your standard of living. Do on to other as you would do on to yourself, as the old saying goes.
Looks like plenty of reading for you. No classification of humans? How about those who own the means of production and those exploited working for them? Do you even known what capitalism is? Anyway, if you want to go forward with this topic then let me know.
Unlike you, i do not think selfishness is a virtue. However, I believe that human solidarity is. I thoroughly agree with your last line though.
They have ability, like everyone else. Exploited? What would those workers do without the industrialists? They can go live in the wild anytime. Their are a few genuine capitalists left. The mercantile dogs who step on the rights of other though. I would not miss. Yes by all means if you would like to use a better medium for discussion then do so.
Self integrity, self respect, self esteem, self control, These are aspects of selfishness. Do you think the world would be better without them?

I have a lot of time for Ron Paul. He's done a great job of awakening a weary public to politics. My only criticism is I think he just says what people want to here and it will be interesting to see if he ever puts any of his words into action.
There was a good question about the Federal Reserve but the answer was wishy-washy and he wasn't pushed on it. What DOES he propose instead of a central bank?
What he says now is what he has always been saying, I have seen videos of speeches by him back in the 80's & 90's and he was preaching the same message. I Believe it is the Republican/Democratic candidates that flip flop to cater to what is popular at the time.
Agreed. I think what I was trying to say is people like to hear someone booing "fraudulent banking systems" and "bad foreign policy", no-one else is talking about that stuff. My point is, given the chance, what will he actually be able to do about it?
We can all rant about the evils of central banking and illegal wars all day but it's quite another thing to be able to offer realistic alternatives. The question about central banking in the interview highlighted this point.
Ron Paul is VERY POPULAR outside of US too!!! His messages even though for the US audiences had struck a universal chord for MANY others!!!!
the political process in the US is COUNTERFEITED, FlAWED and TAINTED by "EXTREMISTS" ie Neocons and "OTHER GROUPS"!!! i guess there should be a REFORMASI process and having new political parties is a great start!!!!
I am hoping the rep. party will tire of McCain and just before it's time to vote they will drop Mccain claiming here and Sarah have to many troubles and put Rons Name on the ballot. with a note that says we're sorry we skewed up!

I personally wouldn't have hesitated in supporting Ron Paul if he was a legitimate candidate. But he doesn't conform to the Neo-Conservative ideology (who have hi-jacked the GOP party), and they've attempted to put a muzzle on him in response.
Hopefully Ron Paul can inspire like minded ones to take up his torch, I don't buy into "libertarianism" per say, The foreign policy Ron Paul espouses was not a "libertarian idea" but age old wisdom America was founded on but has since fallen astray from as a result of ww2 and the cold war.
but the purpose of ron paul's run was not to get elected, it was to wake america up. he succeeded, if you ask me, because he planted the seed for revolution. we are waking up.
we went into iraq because of "9/11". we went into iraq because of wmds.we went into iraq b/c saddam hussein was in collusion with al queda. All of that was bullshit.the whole war was based on lies.removing saddam was fine (he was our creation, by the way).but that's all we needed to do. now we are occupying a nation.WE ARE OCCUPYING A NATION!& not to mention, the middle east's business is not our business.& waht do you mean "even" the iranians hate saddam?
Thanks, AJE/Riz! Dr Paul is the Best! He's the President this country needs, but doesn't deserve - a veritable Founding Father walking amongst us, treated with disrespect by the GOP and the MSM.
eh, all he's going to do is dupe more and more idiots (his supporters, but dont worry, i have the same sentiment for mcfaggot's supporters) into supporting 4 more years of repression and war.
But I listen to Dr. Paul alot and his views are closer to what Obama is proposing than McCain. In so far as ending this Empire building mentality,New World Order stuff.
They both want to get back to following the Constituion. You know Obama taught Constitutional Law for 12 years at U of Chicago Law school.
Obama will pull the troops out but what he isn't telling you is that he will be using Blackwater to take over for American soldiers. Obama is not who you think he is and Ron Paul and Jeremy Scahill can tell you all about it. Obama's name shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Dr.Paul or McCain. Obama is a liar and McCain tells it like it is. McCain don't tell people one thing and go someplace else and tell them something else. Obama does!
I didn't mean for this to sound so partisan but I really dislike how people are so hungry for a new direction that they have swallowed Obama's BS. There is a lot of info out there on who Obama really is but the media ignores it. He is a lying empty suit!
He's says he wants to surround himself with the best people and have a Cabinet that represents all views. He often references Abe Lincoln's Cabinet as an example.
Also he recently held an economic summit that had the heads of various groups in attendance, including former Sec's of Treasury of both Parties.
If this country is serious about solving problems, then we should recruit the best and brightest, like Obama,to get it done.
a travesty that they brought in lieberman (who isnt even a republican) and fred thompson (who paul beat soundly in the primaries), but they didn't even let Paul speak.
in that way they are turning their back on the moderates and true fiscal conservatives in their own party.
if not for anything else, the republicans deserve to get smashed by Obama for what they did to Dr. Paul.
FUCK HIM. he's a freemason/illumanti gatekeeper. he's just part of the divide and conquer stragety. Resist the New World Order!

aren't his stubborn honesty and his good principals enough for a successful campagin?
don't we have enough of orchestrations, spin speaches, manipulations of the mainstream candidates who are puppets of the upper 1%?

1BuckeyeNation,
I used to like McCain, but he has sold his soul to the right wing.
Bush tax cuts, agents of intolerence,Sarah Palin, etc. He is no longer a "maverick".
He has sold out to get elected. He hired Karl Rove jr.(Schmidt) to run his campaign, using the same tactics he so despised in 2000.
Now they want to reform the government the GOP screwed up? Gimme a break!
Search videos entitled McCain vs McCain, the man has swithced his position on everything except WAR.He still loves WAR!

What's so funny,feeknocks?
Obama's not some ideological nut.

Obama is a fraud. Look at his cabinet. They're full of prominent warmongers and lobbyist/corporatist cock suckers.
Don't give me that Abe Lincoln nonsense. Abe Lincoln screwed America over.
Who cares about his summit. Obama has no experience and he has no principle.
He is just the tacit version of McCain.

feeknocks, lay off the good stuff for a minute. Obama doesn't have a Cabinet yet,so I don't know what you're talking about. Neither do you apparently.
2) Obama opposed the War in Iraq from the get go.
3) Get your facts straight and let go of your inner racism.

you dont have to be a rocket scientist to see obama's cabinet in its infant stages, idiot.
look up Zbigniew Brzezinski, he speaks for himself.& are you implying that obama is anti war? LMFAO!!!
& obama opposed the war IN THE BEGINNING, not from the get go.geesh kid, you are a sap for political word play, arent you?
obama may have voted against teh war once, but he has repeatedly voted against troop withdrawal and voted for funding.
and im a racist? am i supposed to take you seriously now? wtf?

a travesty that they brought in lieberman (who isnt even a republican) and fred thompson (who paul beat soundly in the primaries), but they didn't even let Paul speak.
in that way they are turning their back on the moderates and true fiscal conservatives in their own party.
if not for anything else, the republicans deserve to get smashed by Obama for what they did to Dr. Paul.
