I think she doesn't want to be associated with her old music (the tracks from Miseducation). Because of all the controversy surrounding her old music and whether she wrote it all by herself, I think she becomes overwhelmed with anxiety and this is her way of dealing with it. Subconsciously or consciously, I think she bastardizes her old songs as a way of trying to get her fans to focus on her new music.

First of all I believe that while she does tend to have a pattern of rushing through her old songs, it could just be because that is how she decided to rearrange it for the performance. As you should know since you both like her old stuff, people who can really sing tend to do that.
I also think that her excitement and adrenaline is the cause for her rapping the words in blocks or singing the words in blocks.
I think that when she hits that stage and sees how everyone is feeling her and loving her, its gets to her and she just goes into the zone you know. She gets so deep into her performance and the words to her songs that she just goes into another place

Lauryn is one of the greatest artists we have today... petty that she's keeping a low profile musically for now :( would really love to hear something new from her with the energy she brought on her last album...
