It's nice these exist, but sad that they are not being sold to someone interested in restoring them for the road. They deteriorate each day. What was this guys need for simply putting them out in the elements?
@CORVAIRWILD let me kno if he ever wants to sell one of the hard tops cause I'd love to have one and also so it can be restored an let others see there beautie
4 1/2.....lol. Yeah they are great cars. I am looking at an old corvair rampside pickup that has been sitting in a field for a few years. Thinking of buying it. Are the engines the same in those? or do you know?
Sweet ride, I do alot of moped and motorcycle repair / restoration so I figure with the side ramp gate it'll be perfect for me. Just need to get an engine for it. Thanks for the info
Yeah, I've seen a few on the local craigslist, Also found an adaptor kit for a chevy 350 so If I can't find a vair motor I'm sure I can find a 350 with my eyes closed
I love lookin at old car boneyards. Got to watch the dogs if you dont know what you are doing though..i think the same thing each has a story..just think when they were on the road what tunes were blasting through their radios at the time?
Looks like a paradise for snakes and ticks. I once went to look at an old Dodge power wagon I was thinking of buying. It sat in a "mowed" field and we were only out of the car for like a half hour.. I picked 6 off on my clothes, and 8 more when I got back home!....He wanted to much for a rust bucket with no interior. The Lyme disease was free though!
I would have to have the Oxygen and Acetylene run straight from the plant for all the cuttin up i would be doing. I hate to see any old car go to waste like this. Start out with 200 junk cars end up with 20 driveable ones and a whole lot of scrap steel.
they are all sleeping waiting for some one to come get them and fix them up. and please dont tell me they are all going to sit and rot away in piece I hope they are all going to be restored some day.
It's a garden of organically grown "free range" corvairs! During the harvesting season, these corvairs are hand picked and delivered fresh to your local corvair nut. ;)

Those are the cars Ralph Nader had killed. The Corvair was such a nice car. I still wish I knew why it scared him so much.
84hachi 2 years ago
Ralph Nader hated them because he was a horrible driver and couldn't drive a rear engine car so he wrote a book about it.
SoilentGr33n 2 years ago
@SoilentGr33n yeah and at the time he wrote the book he didn't even have A LISENCE !!! LOL @ NADER

ZombieDesertDeities 3 years ago
Where do the old vehicles go???
CORVAIRWILD 3 years ago
To the scrap yards to be crushed and turned into Toyota Prius! ;(
Thoughs yards are closed to the public and most are hard to find parts for here. They don't value old cars. They just build them then toss them!
ZombieDesertDeities 3 years ago
Lotta old cars
There seems to be an AMC and VW amongst the corvairs
