Always liked AWB. Haven't seen so many people on stage just enjoying how they entertain the crowd in a long time. And Candy can still play that thing (she always could). This is probably my favorite rendition of this song. Although AWB is pretty darn good also.

I have watched this several times and Candy plays that sax like the energizer bunny...she is awesome and I want to come back in my next life as Candy Dulfer...I'm sure everyone on here would love to blow that sax like she does and as far as her talking she's just simply cool and hot and amazing.
Listen I've been in and out of music for over 45 years. I've booked some of the biggest acts in the country and I've never heard anything so ridiculous as I've heard here. First music is for "all" people and as far as rock, funk, blues, jazz, folk, country whatever your choice might be has NOTHING at all to do with race. The colour of ones' skin has nothing to do with funkability (I just made that word up but it sure makes sense). Please just enjoy the music and appreciate the musicianship.
@drumkitty as far as I m concerned it is a real word because it has meaning..you can see a concept behind the word it happens that it isn't found on dictionaries just yet!!! You've got to have funkability :)
Hello blackheartrises. Candy Dulfer is a Dutch national born and lived most of her life in the Netherlands. I have lived in Vancouver,BC all my life and to my knowledge Candy has never even been here yet. At 5:02 she speaks Dutch to the crowd . She says "No Why not" .
Candy does what she does, which is great. I don't think she's claiming to be the successor in a long line of innovative jazz saxophonists.... but she's a hell of a player, and deserves lots of credits for leading a band since she was 14.
Having said that I hope AWB get some nice royalties off this track because everyone has covered it.

Antonio Hart, Phil Woods, Bobby Watson, Chris Potter (mostly tenor but has played alto) John Zorn, Ornette Coleman, Dave Binney, and obviously the one and only Kenny Garrett. But I think you're mistaking talent for entertainment. They're all about the music, not jumping around on stage making non musicians think they're talented. She's better than Kenny G though.

The players you mention I have not listened to, but I will and get back with you. Like many people I am partial to what I like to listen to. No matter what the form of music I just enjoy great talent..
@gulfwood35 Well it was great that you took the time to listen, I'm impressed. However, its true not everyone likes jazz, some peoples harmonic ear just isn't developed enough to understand it. These guys however are on a completely different level than Ms. Dulfer, whether you enjoy them or not. Also I personally don't listen to music because the blonde playing it is pretty, you'd be might be surprised, but a lot of great music is made by "old coots" I'm sure Ms. Dulfer would have more respect.

These guys however are on a completely different level than Ms. Dulfer, whether you enjoy them or not. Also I personally don't listen to music because the blonde playing it is pretty, you'd be might be surprised, but a lot of great music is made by "old coots" I'm sure Ms. Dulfer would have more respect.

@Blackheartrises — Dulfer is not Canadian. She's Dutch, from Amsterdam. Even the URL for her website — candydulfer(dot)nl — shows that, since .nl shows that it's in the Netherlands. Read her full bio at her web site. She was born in Amsterdam on September 19, 1969. She's the daughter of famed Dutch saxophonist Hans Dulfer.
