I think I still must have what it takes I asked a pretty lady at the bar to dance and she got all tongue tide and all she could say was you niny ,niny Naw.Take care ADonovan43
A contemporary of The King himself, Wanda Jackson was indeed the queen of rockabilly. Despite owning two cd's of her's I was not aware of "TongueTied". This song rocks. I love It. Thanks for posting RasmusTamminen. Wanda does "Let's Have A Party" better than Elvis! I also love all her rockabilly tunes especially "Fujiyama Mama", "Mean Mean Man", 'Hot DogThat Made Him Mad" and off course "Let's Have A Party".
Mmmm Hmmm baby!!!! I love her sound!!! Makes me feel good! My fav. two songs are Fujiyamama and Sweet Nothin's. She's still around singin' makin' music. I don't know if you know the musician Jack White from the White Stripes but he's going to produce her next album... He did the same with Loretta Lynn gave her a more hipper "up-to-date" sound. The albums comin soon. Look out for it. I can't wait.
One of Wanda's best later rockers...love this track...cool...as I type the last pic came up (with the Cramps)...as I posted elsewhere, if you can't hear (especially on Mean Mean Man) the influence Wanda had on them, you just ain't listening...thanks for sharing
I scoured the internet for the Betty McQuade version thanks to your post. It's great! But I must say "better" is a matter of opinion. It's definitely faster, and she does a great Wanda impression, but I think I still prefer Miss Jackson's version. Apparently Betty McQuade also did a version of Riot In Cell Block #9 of which one reviewer noted "Her vocals are firmly in the Wanda Jackson mould and The Allstars really cut loose on the backing". She was clearly a fan. I'd love to hear that.
first rock n roll woman and only today! better than elvis.

As long as we're on it, has Wanda Jackson been inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame yet?
