Oh my goodness, Richard Dean Anderson was so cute, but I'm not sure if he was cut out for sitcoms (though he is pretty funny otherwise), but he has such a charm about him...I usually call it the "MacGyver Charm."
I used to watch this show, but not until about 1985 - I was born in 1982. I still like this show and watched it on Nick at Nite about 8 years ago (I saw the reunion movie about 4 years ago on ABC Family) - I would love to see it again on TV!
My sister was born in 1982 also, and like you, she remembers watching the show in the mid '80s. It's still so much fun to watch. Reminds me of happy times;-)
