  • "Horse trying to escape hyperflexion." -ich glaube eher das sie ihn ein bisschen ans traben bekommen will und ihn desalb flott am bein macht..und nicht das er versucht aus der rollkur zu fliehen..

  • Isn't this like beating up the person you call your *best friend*?? I can't stand that woman and she has no right to torture horses like she does then say how much she *loves* them.

  • If you are interested in helping to end this kind of front-to-back riding and reviving classical dressage, please consider visiting the new not-for-profit dressagerevolution-dot-com.

  • i absolutly hate the way she rides this horse. i could never do that to any horse i work with. i would never put them through this!

  • Now, I will admit I was never into the Anky hype to begin with. Nothing ever stood out to me about her, personally.

But, I will say this: for the 'world's top dressage rider' she sure is heavy with her hands...

  • But I think the saddest thing about all of this is - well, it's bad enough for someone in a higher position to be doing this, but think about all of the people she's influencing and some inexperienced person is going to go and try and do this, hopping up on their horse and cranking it's nose to it's chest because they 'want to be just like Anky'

  • I'm not really educated on hyperflexion, though from looking at it - I don't see it as a comfortable position - for any creature, or human. Try walking around with your chin to your chest - if anything, the back of your neck will sore up, think of what these horses must be feeling to be pulled into this position. Secondly, when in that position, the horse is looking at the ground...how can they be aware of what's around them when they're looking at the ground??

  • nowadays Olympic games have nothing in common with ideals of classical dressage... it is like some kind of parody... and that is very very sad...

    K.

  • This is DISGUSTING! That woman should be shot for torturing her horses! It's an OUTRAGE!

  • a major grilling and I would earn very bad name. If I did this at home mum would grill me for it too! It's unacceptable for anyone to do that to any horse, letalone with a double bridle and to an animal that, judging by his severe reactions, is highly tuned and sensitive. Why is it Anky gets away with this kind of BS and worse still, is celebrated for it Do her supporters watch her do things like that and still say "she was being so sensitive with the reins, she wasn't pulling in any way"??

  • was just watching that very closely and just before (when he comes around the corner at the top of the arena) her left hand is down behind her thigh. He lept forward and her hand jerked back. And then when her started to rear and jump, just before he did that, she fully yanked him in the mouth with her right hand. Now, I know we're not perfect, but this is "the worlds best dressage rider", doing this in public, at a top show! If I did this to any horse at any competition my mum would give me..

  • I always hear her fans stating how much those horses mean to anky. Well I´ve owned a horse who i really loved, and would never have done smth like this to her! :( Doesn´t she feel at least little bad when the horse is even trying to get free?? Guess they´re only tools for her in the end, nothing more..

  • I am no dressage expert but I am a horse owner & lover and I can certainly recognize cruelty when I see it! I do not understand why these people are allowed to continue doing this...and letting them win is truly disgusting!

  • I remember reading somewhere the "bigbosses" didn´t want to make that big deal of hyperflexion on anky´s or any bigname´s case, cause they want to keep anky and the rest of that group as ROLEMODELS. Yeah, you read right..roleMODELS O_O

  • after seeing this video I now agree with a person who commented on one anky-vid that she has no shame. If my horse would act like such cause of my riding at the warmup -with other riders there and people watching- I´d be SO red of shame :*( Even nonhorsefan-people can see that smth just ain´t right with that horse and rider. How would I explain them were to come to me afterwards and ask..?!

  • The classical Masters would jerk her off that poor horse and slap her senseless.

  • I am not an expert, but her hands are totally unyeilding and seem fixed. Its upsetting.

  • wow... it's really shocking to see that... I always love to watch the warm-up rings at big dressage shows such as the German Masters in Stuttgart. Sometimes the difference in how the international and national riders ride their horses in the warm uo and in the actual ring is really huge...

  • different to what side?

  • Pas glorieux pour les cavaliers de dress' de haut niveau, tout ça...

  • Lovely chestnut in the background.

  • Why should someone need to do this to achieve a placing in a competition? Look at the angle of the curb, the lack of activity in the hind legs..her posistion-especially that of her hands! No one should need to do this to their horse to get it to perform. Gentle stretching exercises etc have been used effectively for years and years without anyone needing to try to attach their horses nose to it's chest

  • Great comment, nice to know their are like minded people out there!

  • At least someone with intellect among all the ignoramuses :)

  • poor baby ='[

lets shove a weird metal thing in THEIR mouths, ask them to pull their heads to their chest, sit on their backs and make them do weird movements, and lets see how appreiciated it is.

  • WOW. This is insane. Poor Horse =[ I was almost in tears watching this.

  • When one muscle extends the corresponding one contracts, so what does Rollkur achieve? Nothing unless you intend to ride hyperflexed the whole time (very bad idea) Why don't they use stretches at a standstill? Why restrict their windpipe and field of vision to achieve nothing but exagerated front limb movements and learned helplessness from the horse?

  • Poor horse. This is wrong, and the horse is NOT fine. Why would it do like that with it's hindlegs (don't know what it is called in english) if it was fine? No, this is a horse who is out of balance!

  • Poor horse!!!!

    :-((((

  • Why sure, thank you.

  • haha.. its not bad.. horse is great.. not in pain at all :)

  • Geez! These camera handlers make EVERYTHING more dramatic than it really is. haha

  • u´re joking, right..??

  • What I'm seeing is that this horse has become VERY heavy on the forehand. I'm mindful of that kind of thing due to similar abuses I see in Western Pleasure sometimes. I want my horses to develop elevation in their shoulders and to be relaxed. I'll grant you, Anky could ride circles around me; wish I had her talent! But, I think rollkur looks ugly.

  • This horse is trying so hard to get away, I'm almost in tears.

  • I know, me too...... :(

  • omg he's so struggling with Anky!! Poor horse... What happened to classical dressage?!? And I tought she is a greatest rider of all. Just look how he can't bend and how he pushes off both back legs to jump... Awful! :(

  • And it wont' stop whilst dumb judges give these incorrect paces high marks! I think dressage judges should have to study the mechanics of a horses movement so they understand how they should move and not be impressed by all that front leg action with almost nothing behind. I can't imagine how they have the strenght to get the horse there in the first place, do you think they use gadgets when noone is looking?

  • didn't know a horse could move like this WOW

  • And Anky knows it AS WELL. Otherwise she wouldn't work so hard at jusitifying it. And where is the scientific report she said was coming out that proved that hyperflexion aided the biomechanics of the horse that she said was coming out over a year ago?

  • I noticed that too! Silly me thinking that a horse should only push off both back legs to jump eh. Imagine how the horse feels struggling to keep his balance with her seat driving down on his backand her spurs drive him forward and he cant ever use his natural lever his head and neck to balance. I'm glad there is such outcry against this practise, its very cruel.

  • I have noticed, all the horses in these clips are periodically doing a double push with their hind legs. They are thrusting forward with both hind legs at the same time. Curious pattern with rollkur, dont you think? What could the horses be saying.

  • the thing was bucking, duh ud thing she would know a thing or two

  • Awful!! :-(

    Poor horse!

  • I thought she was a dressage rider, not a rodeo queen. Horrific way to treat your trusting animal.

  • i do have to say that this is not the best way to train a horse, but whatever else she is doing, it works. this horse is just soo uncomfortable with her like that, and he's struggling with her.

  • i am a fan of anky's, so i dont want to say anything too mean, but i do see where you are all coming from. this is very cruel indeed.

  • A restricted and confused horse, over flexed, with corrupted gait, devoid of harmony and balance. Cruel circus.

  • I agree 100%.

Whatever happened to real dressage? Horse and rider in harmony. This is just the rider forcing the horse to submit to her every whim. Horrible.

This is not dressage, this is torture, plain and simple.

  • ja, heel duidelijk!

  • Dit vind ik een ander verhaal, hier zie je duidelijk wel iets wat niet oke is.
