  • can a ground parrot fly?

  • awesome

    just awesome !!!!

  • the eastern ground parrot isn't extinct, there are about 2000 wild ones left

  • Fasinating! Thanks for sharing~:)

  • Fascinating view of an enigmatic parrot. Thank you Brent for this footage..

  • The last time these parrots were seen in Eastern Australia was when a dead bird was discovered by the side of a road in the 1970s. Please tell me you have been in contact with your Eastern Australia counterparts... As far as the world knows, there are only three ground parrots, the NZ Kakapo (Critically endangered), the Ground Parrot (striking similarity to this sweet bird) and the Night Parrot (not seen since the '70's)

WOW and thanks for the video...

  • @verticalsmurf Eastern Ground Parrots are classified Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, about 4000 are still breeding in the wild. It's the Night Parrot that is very endangered, and possibly extinct.

  • I think this is the best thing since King Kong. Boy that parrot is amazing in real life.

  • are these extinct it is the eastern grund parrot the one that is extinct?

There have been sightings of the rarer one in the southern highlands of NSW

  • Fabulous footage, guys. You must have been very excited to capture Charlie in action. You're doing great work. Congrats.
