i like this darcy, but this elizabeth is very unagreable, and looks older than the character age, is a bitter spinster, cant see what darcy have seen on her
I'm a little confused. Is the dance called "Mr Beveridge's Maggot" or is that the title of the music? I agree though....I do love this scene and would love to learn the dances from the Jane Austen movies available.
@vontrappster It's usually called English Country Dancing. There are a lot of groups around that still practice it, so if you're interested in learning you can try looking for one in your area. It's a lot of fun!
@vampiregrl24 It's called 'Mr Beveridge's Maggot.' Maggot is an old word for 'fancy' - daydream, etc (at least I think so!) But that's the original name.
i agree with you Im wishfully thinking that one day this type of clothing and music will be what everyone wants to wear again. What romantic was back then is nothing like romantic now. we've lost our beauty to pop coulture
@xchelseanax Yes, this is true! We have lost our beautiful music played on piano or violin, or just the 19'th centuries' menuets. Now all the teenagers (excepting me, whose my age is 13) are listening to Lady GaGa, Pitbull and so on!
Your only 13, you have a very intelligent input. I myself am 17 the one music video i love from this century is taylor swift's love story. really captures the beauty of that century
@xchelseanax I throughly agree. There is a certain elegance and simplicity to those times and to have it replaced by advertising seems like we've lost out.
Interesting that womens fashion in this period, inspired by ancient Greek clothing, became sensible and comfortable compared to what it was before - then later, corsets, layers of fabric, and restrictive garments returned with a vengeance until the 1920's.
Today I would find a version without the text blended in the problem is that it is a series, well it can be done, but first I need to find a version without subs blended into the movie. If the opportunity will com up, I might do that.

omg thank you so much for that!!! iv been trying to find the title of it ever since i watched the movie i was in love with this scene and the music!! i just needed them name to the piece!
Could someone please I beg upload the dance where Mr. Collins and Lizzy dance shwrewsbury lasses? 1995, of course. You know, the one where he hops like a dork? Thanks. The above dance, by the way, is indeed called Mr. Bevridges Maggot.
does anyone know where i can get a recording of the music at the speed and in the style it is played here? the only one i can find is a much faster version
I personally don't know, if someone does I will be happy to find out myself. There are talking while dancing and I pulled them out. If I had only the music it would be better. Sometimes music is composed especially for the film itself, so it might be the case with this part.
this dance is more fun than it looks

I agree. Whilst much of ladies clothing today is cute or sexy, or even just plain nice, female elegance isn't, alas, in vogue any more.
shame really..

@xchelseanax Nowadays, everyone is wearing jeans, short tops and singing Lady Gaga even in the bathroom! I hate this PC's and Lady GaGa's era!
