25 years ago the toys would actually transform so that the windscreen on the vehicle would become the windscreen on the robot's chest. The new 'Swiss army knife' style transformers in the films have, unfortunately, made that impossible. You may as well have a toy truck with a robot inside the trailer!

..Then again, I'm 34 and they're not aiming these toys at me, so I'll just keep my mouth shut. Lol! ;-)

Okay, so there are a few differences between this prototype DOTM Ultimate Prime and the production version I bought from Walmart. For one thing the connector points on top of the trailer are white,the ones on mine are black. The package doesn't have the label that says Biggest Optimus Prime toy. And I think the prototype has more silver paint abs even on the trailer itself.

Guys, the arms are not bulky, what you are seeing is armour. Look at 0:28 seconds and you can see his actual hand inside.

@jinkazama2009 the prime toy is set to be released in august, and leader megatron is still unknown. to my, and many people's knowledge, they wont release a leader megs with prime later this year. they might posssibly release it later in early 2012 or so if the movie line toys carry on that long.

I wonder how big this guy might be without the trailer compared to Animated Leader Megatron. I know it's a weird (and probably dumb) comparison, but I'm curious. I have a Movie 1 Voyager Prime and his height reaches to about Animated Leader Megatron's chest. If DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime; in robot mode and not in combined mode, is about the same size as Animated Leader Megatron, then, well, I guess DOTM Optimus my #1-priority Christmas gift!

i heard that hes taller than the voyager figures (i don't know who), but he's smaller than the leader class Prime and the only thing that makes him look big is the trailer. i was expecting that he is the same size as the leader class prime but hes not. I'm very disappointed with this and the only way i might get him is on 60% sale.

Anyways, looks like the box was an early version as the level was bumped up to 3 later on. Until we get a review of the actual toy, we really wouldn't know how easy to transform this.

I'll be honest the vehicle mode looks way better. The robot mode is kinda disappointing. Hasbro and Takara could have done much better than this. I wish the would make a re mold that would make it movie accurate because this toy is way to different than what we have seen in the trailer.

I HATE this idea... Optimus combining with his trailer was a new thought waaayyyyy back when the Powermasters came out, but it got firmly STOMPED INTO THE GROUND with Armada, Energon, and Cybertron. As for Prime "powering up" in a live action movie, he already did that with Jetfire in the last one (and probably didn't even call him afterwards)!! Damn you, Bay, for your complete lack and disregard of imagination!!!!!!!

And i also agree with you on that voyagers and deluxes classes you mentioned, they are the only ones which look worthy, but as i said, the only one i'll be picking up for sure is voyager megatron :)

Why is everyone complaining about how the wings look? It doesn't shout out butterfly Prime as much as where it says to me it is to me Gundam X Prime. Even if the wings aren't your style,you can apparently adjust them to something a bit more traditional and visually pleasing. The biggest problem I have with this toy,however,is the arm kibble in the regular robot mode.

They shoulda had enough with that Ultimate Prime they created, the biggest bumblebee ever made for the movie and they now ought to take their time to do something really worth and admirable. And I dunno why but i still some hope remains inside my heart and i think they'll release a Leader Megatron and Shockwave... let's pray for that

@powermasterjazz Well, Hasbro tends to promote things with pictures of hand painted prototypes. ROTF Prime had one on the back of the box with a mess load of silver, but there ended up being very little on the final toy. The same goes for many other toys, if you look for it. It just isn't cost effective to cover an entire trailer in silver paint for Hasbro, unlike Takara, who will probably be able to release this with a silver painted/chromed trailer since they charge more and produce less toys.
