If you have amazing talent, such as seen here, don!t put yourself in a position to be compared to what many think is the greatest voice of out time. Eva, you live on.
wow. i've seen her live and was blown away by her magical voice and amazing presence but this video just took me back to being in her company, sharing the space. for such a well-known song, she really does make it her own. her voice is incredible. thank you SO MUCH for posting this. it's so breathtakingly good.

Someone else asked me to see Brandi (in Tampa) and I must have been upset with them bc I waited til the last minute to tell them "No." :-/ It was worth driving to NC, Even if I could've seen Brandi the next week in Tallahassee, for free, at home. 3 shows would be greedy. Maybe saying "No" to my friend in Tampa cost me her friendship. Who knows? not I. "Why, oh why can't I?"
Honestly, I don't think anyone can top Judy Garland's version(s) of this song, but it's a very good performance. It's really beautiful and Brandi Carlile has the voice needed for this kind of song.
I've always loved Eva Cassidy's version but now I think Brandi's version is my favourite. She puts such emotion into her singing, without overdoing it and making it too dramatic. I hope she comes to the UK next year as I would love to see her perform live. Watching her on YouTube at various venues is second best but to see her in person would make not only my year but my entire decade. I love you Brandi. Take care and keeping smiling the lovely smile.

@REngland77 Well I was at an outside thing at a state fair so no one cared if there were cameras. But I was shaking anyway. I'm shakey in general with recording. But Brandi is just so incredible she can give you goosebumps.
I love 1:15 so much. She's amazing! Her voice is honestly like nothing I've heard, it's so rich and sweet and raw and emotional all at the same time. And she has such control over it!
Everything Brandi Carlile touches is amazing. And yes, she's simply gorgeous. Just a beautiful all around. And no apologies for the shaking, I didn't notice at all - maybe I was just carried away by the song.... :)
