wow.... ok if you hadn't stated where the song plays in the anime i would have taken it for a remixed song from Code Geass lol! , sounds like a remix of "continued Story" by Kuroishi Hitomi. XD makes sense, i think she did some of the Last Exile sound track as well lol.
This song is so beautiful, it's near unbelievable. It sort of grows in strength and emotion until I'm on the brink of tears, goddammit! ... Well, the tearyness is at least partly because I still remember the anime I guess.
Anyway, if I close my eyes listening to this, it almost feels like I'm among the clouds myself - so damn nice XD
This is such an awesome anime, that the remaining... "446," no wait... uh, "424," og nvm. The remaining characters can not describe how beautiful this story is. I almost cried from happiness at the end when I found out Mullin wasn't dead. He my favorite guy. Oh it's so awesome.
never seen the anime heard the movie promo for this in a store bought the soundtrack . still one of the best purchases in my life. still havent seen the anime
If you would like to fix that, its on Hulu, but not on the anime channel. It's in the action/adventure channel and the Funimation channel. Currently both subb and dubb.
@caohanlu i agree with that and this wasent even that highly recognized either its the kind of show that all audiences enjoy in my opinion it has love action and of course comedy
One thing I liked particularly about this anime is how the story developes at a good steady pace...as if you're living their lives day to day yourself..kinda funny to say seeing as its only 26 episodes lol...but it's not like many other animes that jump right into everything and try to move too quickly...it allows you time to REALLY get to know each character..size them up..and form either an emotional attachment or a strong dislike for them.
Personally, I find this weird how Alex let people on his ship rather easily. The two from the guild for example :p. Also, I dont like how Alex kills a starship pilot in one shot :p.
I think it was because he didnt see Dio and Luciola as much of a threat..hmm..and too on second thought i think he knew that Delphine would be coming for her brother. Also there's that whole thing thats in most animes were in some twisted fashion enemies become friends but never REALLY stop being enemies....if that makes any sense WHATSOEVER XD
I would also like to add in saying that as the story progresses, you get to know more about the disliked characters and your opinions surprisingly change as you know who they are and where they come from. Fantastic watch!
@OinoAray Anime rarely moves that fast. I have the exact opposite complaint with anime. And while I do think this anime has a real time feel to it, that's because it starts where the action is, and it maintains a good pace because it has no filler, not because it's slow or anything.
@GadGades Never said it was slow...I said it moves steady.I don't think it's because of the action from the beginning...but because of the fact that it shows even the everyday things that go on outside of all the fighting.By moving faster i mean that other animes skip a lot of things and jump right into strictly the important things. In this anime you get to know the person in depth and in only 26 episodes because of the time spent with each one outside of the Main Story. Its the little things.
@OinoAray I disagree, but you're right that you never said slow( I inferred that and I guess I was wrong). By action, I meant that it didn't have filler and focused on the important bits. I don't think this anime and its scenes don't focus on unimportant things. I think it focuses on its main story, and that's why its good. this might just be about semantics about what's considered the main story and important.
"By moving faster i mean that other animes skip a lot of things and jump right into strictly the important things." again, my complaint with almost all anime is the opposite. A day to day writing style wouldn't make sense in a lot of shows but most anime don't know how to make use of the time their given. You're lucky if whatever anime you watch stays focused.
@IngvartheRanger Exactly. You get to see their day to day lives and even the smaller struggles they have that aren't even significant to the story. Gives more depth to it I believe.
@OinoAray I agree. It's why many 13-episode animé series tend to be a bit of a failure or never reach full potential (Elfen Lied, for example... awesome but too short).
I'm quite partial to 52 episode animé series since you get plenty of time for character and plot development :)
Last Exile was particularly brilliant for its Steampunk-esque concepts and artworks, coupled with a moving soundtrack... the English dub, however, was spoiled by a certain annoying female voice.
@OinoAray i know i luv this show it makes me want to be in the sky w/them more but i REALLY love the 12 kingdoms its so good and just real in its own way i recommend you watch it youll be hooked
@OinoAray That steady pace may be found boring but I agree with you. Besides, there are many things from different cultures and there are many feelings, thoughts from everyday life in this anime. I liked "Wolf's Rain" as this anime. Everyone has his own story and dreams.
@MrsCabecilla No idea, but that's what I like about it. You can't really pin it down into a certain anime genre. It actually feels more like Star Wars to me than anything else; Star Wars and Final Fantasy.
I love this version of the song so much. When I first heard it on the last episode I cried T_T maybe it was the visuals? maybe it was the song? hey! maybe it was both!!
Yes it is... this atmosphere from the kind of painting which was used from RANGE MURATA is the GREATEST ... and with that nice and not to shourt story its realy the best anime ever...(i sow round 250 animes and there is no ather which are that good!!

Strange, because a heh tends to mean "laughing". Do you know what "laughing" is? Geez, I make an off-hand comment about how writers like to drag popular series on past what is reasonable, and you had to make a whole thing out of it.
For the record, though, I agree with you that a prequel would be better. Besides, when I said "Last Exile 2" I didn't necessarily mean taking place directly after; just that I'd like to see more of the concept, setting and characters.

No, "heh" usually tends to mean "really?". I have never seen one person use "heh" as a reference to laughing. Why is that? Because "heh" is usually followed by a question.
A great song, I always like it when a theme throughout the series is enhanced for the final credits.
My only complain with this series is the ending seemed rushed... I think one more episode is all they would have needed to explain Exile a little better, and to make the final war with Delphine a little more climactic and less meshed all together.

Aadvek 3 years ago
That ain't no little detail, that's the basis for the entire series.
OniXera 3 years ago
I know, that's why I was joking; I'd hoped the "heh" hinted at that. My point is that if killing all the characters and all the aliens didn't stop people from making Alien Resurrection, then I think in general there's a bit of leeway for making sequels.
Aadvek 3 years ago
If anything, the series needs a prequel movie or short season, not a sequel, like what Eureka seveN is getting. The only shot we saw of the budding Delphine (which we happened to see multiple times, the scene being where the Lavie and Claus's dad's die) was one really great shot.
I generally don't take 'heh" as a "joking" thing.
OniXera 3 years ago 2

shortyjda1nonly 2 years ago 2
No, I wasn't.
You say "heh" right now.
There is a reason heh is used after "eh", because it is used as a weary laugh, because it means you are uncertain. Thus, "eh heh heh" was born.
Or else you'd use "Ah ha ha", which is a certain laugh.
OniXera 2 years ago
you just contradicted yourself by saying heh could be used as a laugh... and this entire argument is obscenely pointless, just give it a rest
shortyjda1nonly 2 years ago
No, actually, where did I say it wasn't a laugh?
"eh heh heh" can be "Really?", just like "heh" can be "really?"
