  • How much longer is the 747-8 compared to the 747-4?

  • is this model really longer than the a346?

  • @dionsanchez24 Yep!

  • 747 will be forever the king of air \o/ .. Fuck A380!

  • Tell me what you want but I prefer the Airbus A380.

  • also ich finde die 747 wird immer das schönste Flugzeug sein und auch den A380 wird sie schlagen seit ihr der gleichen Meinung Daumen Hoch

  • Beutifull

  • how much distance required for take off?

  • sounds like they are throwing bbs at the 747

  • Plane spotter: Sad!

  • @Calum643 Shut up mate-at least i don't have a video called 'calum's favorite cars.'

  • @2011Olympics hahaha sorry i was in a bad mood that day

  • 0:50 go-around hahaha

  • @benzipz that was the sound of the jet escorting the 747-8 dummy

  • @willyz777

Why would a jet be excorting a 747-8? dummy

  • @benzipz It was escorting it on takeoff as well, if you watch that video, theres a little jet off to the right of it taking off. I don't know what kind it is though

  • lol@lilxlakerbo1....agree totally. I'm Mauritian but what I do know is that Boeing rocks and I'm a die hard fan of boeing. Go Boeing !!

  • @MetsRamsFan and @JohsunPBX u guy forget Qantas airbus A380 Super jumbo Blow out Engine take that @joshun28 and @CheaterNLaw

  • @joshun28 btw most safest? What happen to Airfrance Airbus A380 at JFK?Seems the pilot cant even control the dam whale when it clip the other plane

  • @joshun28 most safest? what year was airbus A380 made,2007?? of coz its still safe because of the year .Boeing 747 was made in 1970 how long is that = =

  • @ApplePreview98 Nothing wrong with improving a design that's been reliable for many years. A newer plane is safer? Not always. Many A380s are now under inspection because of small cracks developing in the wings. Still confident in the A380?

  • when i was a little kid, i always wanted to fly in a brand new 747-400. And now as a grown adult, I want to fly one of these. Come on airlines order these!! Why only Korean Air and Lufthansa so far?

  • I hear that GE engines are below expectations regarding fuel economy and Boeing has problems with Cargolux regarding 747-8F

  • That is one amazing plane. Unsurpassed in beauty, grace and elegance

  • I don't no about best looking plane, i think the 747-400 is better looking. The thick long neck makes 747-800 look ugly. Plus the A380 grows on you, they really a big plane.

  • The 747-8 looks way better than that fat French whale...

  • @lilxlakerbo1 European not French and looks will only get you so far

  • @lilxlakerbo1 Best comment ever!

  • I wish.......................................

  • sexiest plane alive

  • The only Aircraft that's worth flying.

  • What is that black thing dangling on the tail of the plane???

  • @concorde232 They tied a mouse to it :)

  • woooooooooooow really queen of the sky

  • I didn't know Boeing was making new developments for the 747. I had thought that the age of the super-airliner had come and gone and Airbus was the only manufacturer now. I guess I was wrong ;)

  • lol you can hear so many camera shutters

  • The Boeing 747 Queen of the Sky is the most known aircraft. Each model from the classics to those 747-8 plus de -400 are master pieces.

It's still alive and will probably never die.

    Love It ! :D

    Boeing Fan 4 ever

  • @CheaterNLaw explain how Boeing's most popular plane (737) has be bought mor than that piece of shit you call Airbus' most popular plane (a320)? Because the Boeing is more efficient and comfortable.

  • The paintjob was actually quite good the blue got boring :/

  • no offense, but the orange paint is a tad worse than the normal blue one. and it's a bit weird seeing the upper fuselage longer than the old 747-400. but i definitely love the 747 family!

  • The paintjob is absolutely amazing compared to the usual blue paintjob, Boeing you have yet again surprised me. Oh and all the Airbus faggots out there, I'm Australian so consider that before you rant.

  • @DIMATIF The blue livery was awesome.. this is horrible compared to that one.. :/

  • The 747 since its first flight has always been, and will always be, the queen of the skies! Shame on all the people that dare giving the A380 that title..

  • 747 the best !!!

  • Boeing for ever..

  • what's with all the little boys arguing on here?

  • Long live the Queen of the Sky!

  • the engine are quiet

  • i know why boeing are scared of airbus because airbus ate to many 80s because the a380 is fat and obest bad example for kids! lol

  • @johnsonpbx - Bravo for your reply to CheaterNLaw . Thumbs up to you!

  • @CheaterNLaw - BTW what happened to your AirFrance 380 at JFk -seems your pilot couldn't even control it when it clipped another plane.

  • @CheaterNLaw- your probably some eurotrash who has no girlfriend and no life . Can't wait when the euro collapses. gOD

  • nie stac mnie na taki lot ale za paranascie lat to moze bedzie mozliwe

  • Of course the 747-8 is much better looking than the bloated A380. There is no comparison between the two in looks but both aircraft are very well engineered-one is just prettier than the other.

  • guess there was slight crosswind. That rudder sure was working hard at landing ;-)

  • The A380 is beautiful. Open your eyes to the rest of the world America. 747 is Beatuful, i love it, but I am an Airbus fan yet it dosent mean I go round slagging off Boeings.

You just cant admit defeat. Bear in mind the 787 competes with the A330 in efficiency.

  • @Riechode

I thought America was the world?

  • @Riechode I don't think so because then airbus would not be trying to compete the 787 with the a350.

  • what plane was flying over?

  • Is it just me, but does anyone notice how amazingly quiet the new 747-8 is? It's much, much quieter than the 747-400, in my opinion.

  • @cpp1 Yes it is much quieter than the 747-400. It is the same as the A380. Ive been in the A380 and it is surprisingly quiet. barely hear the engines.

  • lol when it touched the ground u just here all the camera's go crazy!!

  • woahh..look at the size of those flaps..

  • B747-8 is the best

A380??? :P just big round fat metal :P

  • @CWESTLIFE123 Metal? Sounds like you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • theres no noise in revrese thrust

  • What a beautiful machine. Makes the flying cow of Aribus look even uglier!!

  • @mruphoto - no disrespect to you sir but I refuse to fly on any Airbus aircraft if I can help it,

  • If you look across the field on the other side....there is me on top of my car!!!:) woooo doing backflips cause it was so awesome!

  • Chuck Norris' toy when he was 8.

  • Beast! :D

  • Boeing aircraft look stunning. That is one beautiful machine! Dosent nessesarily make them more functional than Airbus's though

  • @Riechode I think this might please airlines looking for an aircraft just a tad less massive than the A380. Kind of fills the gap between the A380 and a 777 or A330.

  • even though that plane is probably stripped down to the bare essentials, that was incredibly quiet

  • Im from england so i should favour airbus more, but i dont. I love boeing!

  • The most beautiful plane on earth!

  • /drool

  • i just love b747

  • When is it in service ?

  • Amazing airplane! Glad Boeing finally decided to put the needed fly-by-wire in its large jetliners.

  • @Gyroglle What do mean finally? The 777 has fly-by-wire and they're 16 years old.

  • @MrIfixplanes Only partially.

  • @Gyroglle What do you mean by partially?

It has 3 primary flying computers (PFC) connected with nothing more than electrical wires to solenoid operated powered flying control units (PFCU). There's no control cables on the primary flying control surfaces.

  • @MrIfixplanes Maybe I should've done more research. I was pretty sure I heard that the 777 didn't have full fbw and computer technology like the Airbus planes, but I could be wrong. In any case, still glad it's on the 747-8!

  • The 747 is still a better looking plane than the A380

  • @MetsRamsFan agree

  • @MetsRamsFan it`s not the look u r flying on :)

  • @MetsRamsFan Always will be! Here's to the Queen of the Skies!

  • @MetsRamsFan oh yes for sure it better looking than A380

  • @MetsRamsFan You bet it is! even though I am European, nothing beats the 747. Very elegant aircraft. Too bad it has no winglet though, I think it gives a better design and finish of the wings.

But I am sure the A380 will look better with a longer body.

  • @MetsRamsFan hahahahah i lol at all the butthurt americunts trying to praise their piece of shit planes.. "beauty"... nope, A380 is beautiful and 747 is not. :D simple as that. fucktard. if americunts knew anything about beauty, then why are they all so fat? :S

  • oh my gosh....its so beautiful ! this the plane that i hope to be flying in 20 to 25 years !

  • This shows that Airbus can suck it!

  • I do like Boeing also but I like Airbus much more than Boeing...

  • @sdesai2129 That's okay, nobodys perfect! :^P

  • I'm French I like airbus.. Go a380 :)

  • beautiful and practical

  • he's back, and he's bigger than before.

  • Just a stretched version of the 747-400 nothing more. move on

  • @joshun28 Much much more than that. :O

  • @SkyLinkAirlines Yeah ok its been not just stretched but SERIOUSLY stretched.lol. Maybe on technology side it has improved a lot but honestly it just looks like an old 747-400 and it's always gona be in the shadow of the A380.

  • @joshun28 A shadow with less explosive engines ^^

  • @SkyLinkAirlines Sorry Mate but Airbus does not produce engines. Blame Rolls-Royce ; )

  • @joshun28 Yeahh I guess youre right :\

  • @joshun28 Doesn't matter who produced the engines, they were designed for that aircraft, and if they have a design flaw, it affects the entire aircraft. They could have gone with G.E. The A380 will never have the longevity that the '47 will enjoy.

  • @xxtwr1 you must be joking. The A380 is one of most safest planes out there. It will be in the skies longer than you think and maybe as long as the 747

  • @joshun28 haha shadowed? if you're talking about size yes obviously, but Boeing made the first jumbo jet and the 747 will always be remembered as queen of the skies. Now which other plane has that kind of reputation? None. If it wasn't for Boeing, there would be no breakthrough in jumbo jet technology.

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x Yeah dont get me wrong, i love the 747, but this is just another one of its series. WHY? when Airbus came up with a whole new design with the A380 what did Boeing do? Just took out another 747-8 this is why this particular series will not be remembered as much as its predecessor. 2 Planes that created history 747 series to 747-400 and A380 now. I cant see the 747-8 competing with the A380

  • @joshun28 I honestly think the practical size of the 747-8 will attract more customers. It's not fully operational yet, thats why for the low customers. But some airports can't fit the A380

  • @joshun28 well the 747 is still beautiful right? besides i ride IN the plane. it doesn't matter if airbus came up with a new design on the outside

  • @mgftw132 u dnt knw what ur talking about!!

  • @joshun28 wow how articulate

  • @mgftw132 Yeah well i aint winin prizes on here

  • @joshun28 Why? Because the seat mile costs are ridiculously low after COMPLETELY redesigning the wing, adding state-of-the-art efficient engines (Airbus doesn't have those) and stretching the fuselage to make the seat-mile costs even lower! The 747 is a proven airframe that airlines already have and know how to operate and maintain. Airlines KNOW the 747 IS crazy reliable and will deliver. The A380 is great for the airlines who need to fill up 550 seats, but not for those who dont need to!

  • @StratMatt777 Although I prefer the 747 over 380, the king of the hill is not Boeing anymore. The biggest, baddest aircraft in the skies is no more the jumbo. It is the super jumbo.

  • its so quiet compared to the 400!

  • Oh look muton dressed as lamb. No thanks! I prefer the much younger A380.

  • Good going to General Electric, those nx's are soooo quiet!

  • Those GEnx engines sound like GE CF6 on idle, but like a GE90 on full thrust.

  • Nice going Boeing! The -8i rocks!

  • Holy shit, thats quite.

  • nice landing

  • this planes awesome, but i kind of prefered the blue boeing livery..

oh and boeing just sounds like an awesome word

(i don't hate airbus or anything...)

  • oh my fuck! i always found the 747's something unable to describe.. but the 747-8? holy fuck thats all i can shay!!!!

  • Is that a drogue chute hanging off the tail fin?

  • Just beautiful. The 747 (especially -400 and -8) was, is, and will for many more years be the Queen of the Skies. That fugly and so-praised pregnant whale called the A380 can be way bigger and fatter, but will never be comparable to the beauty of the 747. Simple as that. Thanks for such a nice video. I'm sorry to have missed it live though, just realized today.

  • @JohnsonPBX I agree that the 747-8 looks beautiful than the A380 but whats the use of beauty if it isn't functional? I think the full second deck is better and efficient. The A380's upper deck is still wider and functional with much flexibility. But I gotta say as an Airbus fan I was impressed by the 747-8i

  • @jewelshare I do know that if we put the 747-8 and the A380 in terms of convenience the A380 will win, just because it can carry more passengers and is considerably bigger and newer systems-wise. That doesn't mean that the 747-8i isn't functional, just that the A380 is "better" in that aspect. As stated, my comment was merely based in the visual appearance, plus I've never been quite an Airbus fan. Always preferred Boeing.

  • @JohnsonPBX That was funny as hell (and also true.) Thumbs up my friend! (c:

  • @aroundtheclock Thanks xD

  • @JohnsonPBX The 747 made my jaw drop when I first saw it as a kid. After countless decades of top class service worldwide, the Boeing company never provided a major update to the 747. The Queen of the Skies deserved better. Boeing needed a new jumbo, built from the drawing board. Sadly, the "new" 747-8 has been a huge disappointment in this regard, and Boeing has grudgingly passed on the baton to the Airbus 380. The 747 will remain my Queen of the skies though!

  • @aizad3755 I don't think Boeing grudgingly or begrudgingly has passed on the baton. Airbus's are the Chevrolets of the sky. If you look at a few select fields in Europe you'll see the acres and acres of Airbus's that are timed out. I still see B 737-200's flying and tons of 727's. Hell even the 707's are still around. Boeings are solid, dependable and cost effective. Being in aviation for the past 35 years, I'd rather plunk my ass down in a Boeing than an Airbus (and I'm European).

  • @xxtwr1 Airbus has sold more aircraft than Boeing in 8 out of 10 years from 2001-2010. It is the preferred aircraft of a majority of the airlines worldwide. Boeing needs a blockbuster and the 747-8 will not be one such aircraft. 380 is the new king of the hill, the super jumbo.

  • @aizad3755 Boeing controls 54% of the market. No one denies that Chev's don't outsell the Lincolns, but my rebuttal was in reference to your statement of Boeing passing on the baton. I still don't think so. There is a need for large aircraft, but you'll find that the 380 is in a niche that is declining. As an aside, the 380's average passenger load for all airlines is just under 400 per flight, whereas Corsair typically flies 589 in their 744's. It's not always as it seems.

  • @xxtwr1 True. But Airbus is outselling Boeing, and the total sales of A320 exceed 4000 which probably makes it the most popular commercial jet ever produced. Let us see which of these two companies integrate the new geared engine technology in a superior manner.

  • @JohnsonPBX hahahahah i lol at all the butthurt americunts trying to praise their piece of shit planes.. "beauty"... nope, A380 is beautiful and 747 is not. :D simple as that. fucktard. if americunts knew anything about beauty, then why are they all so fat? :S

  • @CheaterNLaw Rofl. That comment of yours just shows how fucking retarded you are. In the first place, I'm not american, so you can stick your assumptions up your ass. You're just a desperate fanboy trying to defend european planes without even opening your fucking eyes. "then why are they all so fat?" where the fuck did I even touch that subject? Just keep it comming, it's entertaining seeing dumbfucks like you come up with such common-sense lacking rants.

  • @JohnsonPBX didnt bother what you wrote. how about this: Airbus kicks ass, and you suck dick. Have a nice day!

  • @CheaterNLaw It was obvious I couldn't expect anything better from you, retard.

  • @JohnsonPBX again i didnt read, sorry. suck my cock.

  • @CheaterNLaw Go ask your dad, fucking faggot.

  • blended winglets

  • why is it red? not anymore blue?

  • No change can i see in the new Boeing 747-8 .the end of Boeing 747 has came and Boeing want to expand it. that simply a waste of time .if we make compare between the a380 and Boeing 747-8,then the a380 is much a better option to choose, because it is most advanced in terms of technology which a380 is currently using.and have a 35-40%more space then why the people should buy this 747-8.the truth is Boeing didn't want to loose it.a380 is also more fuel efficient compare to the 747-8.

  • @MrAsxqw Ya but the only reason why Airbus is still alive is because the EU doesnt tax it and gives many advantages. Besides A380 is to big. If you ask me Boeing makes better planes than Airbus so go back to sleep troll.

  • @MrAsxqw besides i didnt see the engines blowing up on the 747-8i, did u??

  • Sorry but the Boeing 747-8 is the queen of the skies more than that Ridiculous A380! GO GEnx!

  • We have to see how nice it can takeoff and land with Passengers on board.

  • I thought they'd place winglets at the wingtips to improve flight dynamics, especially so when this model is a much improved version made in the new decade.

  • @nucleartactician It doesn't have winglets because it has raked wingtips, which offer much better flight dynamics for what the 747-8 is going to be used for, long distance, high altitude flights. This is why most newer aircraft such as the 777, 787, and even the 767-400 have raked wingtips instead of winglets. Look at the planform view of an aircraft with raked wingtips and you'll know what I'm talking about. Just fyi...

  • @coasterkev06 Ahhh okay. Didn't notice it.

  • How many people knew this was going to turn out to be a Airbus vs Boeing comment thread?? Yawn.. move on, seriously.

  • Just a fantastic aircraft. Can't wait to fly aboard.

  • the mountains makes it more beautiful!!

  • Philippine Airlines will have this type of aircraft in the future.

  • Beautiful aircraft compared to the Airbus A380....

  • Not half as exciting as the A380.

  • A380 looks better!

  • @bangerbengali

I think the A380's aesthetics are undermined by the uncontained engine explosions

  • @marauder247 wtf is that lol i dont know much about planes but um just saying the A380 looks better!

  • @marauder247 wtf is that lol i dont know much about planes but um just saying the A380 looks better!

  • @marauder247 WTF!!! how could a giant goldfish have better aesthetics than this?

  • @marauder247 thats the engine, not the A380 lol

  • @bangerbengali the A380 looks like a giant goldfish. very ugly wings and tail.

  • @guzwor i dont five two fucks about your opinions i like so bye.

  • @bangerbengali NAH! A380 loses in looks against the B747, to me, the A340 looks better t

  • Take that FAG380(A380)!!!!

  • So quiet... kinda sucks. I like the fighter jet type sound out of the older engines like on the MD80. :(
