Dude Becker was a legend the shit he did on guitar was fucking amazing. I love the sound of this song, to you it might sound like shit but J.B. was fucking around with different and very distinct sounds. It gave an extra spice that made this song epic.

You are trolling and I bet you are aware of the fact. To answer your question about Becker's best work: Concerto (Cacophony), Speed metal symphony (Cacophony), Air is also a decent piece (there is a nice cover on YT). I give you formal permission not to enjoy these pieces.
Um... I just want to jump in here to say that... Well... Concerto and Speed Metal Symphony were fully composed by Marty Friedman previous to meeting Jason Becker. Soon before recording them, he met Jason and asked him to learn them which, according to his testimony, Jason did in about three days with ridiculous accuracy and that made Marty decide to have him play in that CD. The whole "Speed Metal Symphony" album is Marty's work. "Go Off" is both Jason and Marty.
Also, "Air" is probably one of the most innovative songs of contemporary neo-classical/baroque music. I just don't know if the word "decent" is a truly fitting description for so much more than that. Anyway, enjoy whatever life has for you!

I mean, he's not terrible (this song withstanding), but he's been exalted to ridiculous levels since he was stricken with ALS. He was one of many big haired, chops-over-substance overplayers from the 80s, and not a particular influential one. The real tragedy is that he didn't have the time to mature into a better player, like Paul Gilbert did.

I'm not trolling, just expressing my opinion. That horrible, warbling vibrato just sounds like a dying animal to me. I just keep hearing this guy hailed as the second coming of Bach or something, but I've yet to hear it. Can you recommend a tune that represents his best work?

You are trolling and I bet you are aware of the fact. To answer your question about Becker's best work: Concerto (Cacophony), Speed metal symphony (Cacophony), Air is also a decent piece (there is a nice cover on YT). I give you formal permission not to enjoy these pieces.

Um... I just want to jump in here to say that... Well... Concerto and Speed Metal Symphony were fully composed by Marty Friedman previous to meeting Jason Becker. Soon before recording them, he met Jason and asked him to learn them which, according to his testimony, Jason did in about three days with ridiculous accuracy and that made Marty decide to have him play in that CD. The whole "Speed Metal Symphony" album is Marty's work. "Go Off" is both Jason and Marty.

Also, "Air" is probably one of the most innovative songs of contemporary neo-classical/baroque music. I just don't know if the word "decent" is a truly fitting description for so much more than that. Anyway, enjoy whatever life has for you!

No, I just have different taste than you do. Of course, that means I "don't know what music is", don't "have a soul", etc. It's kinda hilarious.
I mean, he's not terrible (this song withstanding), but he's been exalted to ridiculous levels since he was stricken with ALS. He was one of many big haired, chops-over-substance overplayers from the 80s, and not a particular influential one. The real tragedy is that he didn't have the time to mature into a better player, like Paul Gilbert did.

Plus it's hard to have a perfect recording when you're suffereing from the effects of ALS (which he was during this album), as well as not having the ability to record in a top label recording studio. So its the production quality not his playing that is bad. Fuck nut

Great Guitarist. probably the best i have ever known, well atleast in his style. you can't compare guitarists of different styles to who is better because that is being completely subjective to what type of music you prefer.
