  • This song is a great ice breaker. If your a guy and you are near a piano and you see a girl you want to get to know, play this piece. There are a couple of other's that work to. I found at an early age that this hits the emotional spot on most women. Be advised this does not work if all you can play is chop stick's :-).

  • also she plays the middle section wrong

  • i am only 13 and i play this song. i don't want to be rude but i think i play this piece better. if you want to check it out then go to my channel. :)

  • @ThatGuyHieuThai Do you really believe that, or are you just being youraped? :P

  • what is this piece o?

    anyone know ?

    help

  • @shinky56 chopin nocturne op.20 posthumus in c sharp minor

  • @MauricioLFMTeVe even if that were true who cares? Just shut up and listen

  • Wow! vVery good and the music runs smoothly.......amazing....

I am playing this song and having a hard time on the 13th and the 14th measure and also did not learn the 3rd page.....trying to learn it by myself..........any advice?

  • Is there anything better than beautiful women playing beautiful music?

  • i love the way she moves while playing. You can tell that she had put her entire soul in it :)

  • That was beautiful! :D

  • Comment removed

  • great. wondering if i can play it too :> and this song is deep but blur, just in my opinion

  • Fenomenal...

  • Good interpretation. Almost any other pianist (including myself) would play it slower. But by playing it like this does better work out the anger, fear and dark contemplation that´s in this piece. This is no romantic kitsch piece, it goes deeper - I would compare it to the raindrop prelude.

  • what song is this?

    gj btw :)

  • Nocturne No.20 in C#Minor Op. Posthumous, by Fryderyk Chopin, composed around the 1830s for his sister Ludwika Chopin

  • the most important think: I believe you :):)

  • a lot of this is drawn from good acoustics. she is nevertheless able to use this to advantage to bring out tone. but still, it's not the most profound rubato

  • wow nice passage work at end of first line, 0:21 theres a deflating sound or liek some kind of airplain projectile cuz the playing is so good something goes off

  • You could almost think she had composed the nocturne herself. Magic!

  • 1A ********** :-)

  • Beautiful, you play with such grace. I hope one day I might have such skill as yours. Wonderful song choice. :)

  • she is really good! i love this video!

  • Bravo!

  • Beautifull player plays beautifull Chopin

  • from PIANIST movie -ilove this song

  • its wonderfull she pays very weel

  • Regia!

  • Anybody knows where she's from???

  • very well played. like a large rising and falling wave instead of a stuttered rubato

  • she is so good. her touch is so light.

  • Bravissima!!!!!!

  • Truely heavenly! What makes her play like that? This is one video on the U tube i come to watch almost every night. Thanks for posting it.

  • Bravo.....

  • she plays wonderfullly

i wish they'd tuned the piano better though especially for the notes at 0.30 and 0.51 and 0.58 and 1.27 ish. etc etc it's truly painful for us lot with perfect pitch!!!!

    anyway, wonderfully played.

  • I love the way she plays *_______*

    I want that piano *¬*

  • Chopin is smiling in his grave......She is perfect

  • She plays with convincing elegance and talent. Thank you ever much for the film.

  • i'm 14 and i love de classical music and i'm french

  • Me too!

Only im not french, i'm British!

  • I am a major fan of Chopin with many recordings and I found your performance to be transcendent. You are fantastic artist!!

  • beautiful piece, i'm playing it now

    she's incredible!!

  • great performance

i would love to hear it in person

  • im working on this piece. its much harder than it looks especially the third page. there are bits where you have to play triplets with quavers and piles of other hard stuff. im twelve and im thinking of giving up on this piece...

  • Never give up. Seriously. You will regret it. Play the hard parts so insanely slow that you can't possibly mess up and slowly but surely increase the speed.

  • yeah my teacher wont let me give up on the piece and im starting to get the hang of stuff now. im trying to be able to play it fluently by july (my birthday) or by the school music festival so if i beat the whole school then i get to perform solo. there is one problem- im twelve and the rest who participate are 18... i will attemt it anyway and the judjes might let me win cos im so young...

  • bravo!!

  • fabolous!

  • Piu Mosso

  • So beautiful..

    Verry good job.

  • Beautiful!

  • i wish people wouldnt cough right near the mic. it disturbed my intent listening

  • there's always someone coughing! :C

  • This piece gives a beautiful insight of the unique quality of Chopin's genius--his originality-- at the very beginning of his career. A sense of extended melodic and harmonic flow which he continued to develop and enrich for the rest of his relatively short life.

  • this is really really good :)

i don't know about some of you guys... nationality really has nothing to do with it. this is about a person connecting with the piece,

    fantastic nocturne :)

  • An absolute vision!

Breathtaking- and I agree with Syphryna!

    Both indeed lovely!

  • Beautiful!! And the music is too!

  • lulz

  • You are an idiot.

  • This is Nocturne No. 20 in C-sharp minor.

  • Personally, I found it to be very moving. Who cares about technique! "Does it move you" is the real critique. Yes

  • which nocturne is this? it's beautiful

  • Nocturne No. 20 in C-sharp minor.

    my fav :)

  • Thanks!

  • amazing! :) love it.

  • en mi opinion va un pelín rápido,

pero aun asi me gusta =)

  • En francais:

no soul = aucune musicalite. (musicality)

  • palurdo

  • This is why I like Asians.

  • where is the soul...

  • this nocturne isnt about technique or posture, its about feeling and passion - something this rendition, however well performed, lacks

    adrian

  • My God ur right

    are u a pianist 2?

I like the solf tone of it but ur right no soul

  • i am a pianist, and huge fan of chopin

  • @nardiax1 what pianist isn't a fan of Chopin?

  • @nardiax1 I am not a pianist and a huge fan of chopin :)

  • this is fantastic

  • A nocturne should'nt be like this. Emotionless and dead. Sounds like you're forced to play it

  • I think You are right. Its too robotic. Also te notes are played too "hard", not played like a nocturne.

That means NOT, too play it more "kitschy". Just more dynamics. But the way she plays it, the peace tells no story, there is no tension.

Technically its played well, but that's not all.

  • she does't just lack variation in her dynamics but in her tempo as well. something about it is so orderly

  • wow her playing.. i could not feel anything lol.. no robato tempo or anything or however you spell it lol

  • elegant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you are elegant still i think you can interpret more.

  • yes you got 100% notes hit but it sounds .. dead

  • Don't be so harsh, it doesn't sound dead. Not very expressive, but not dead. At least she tries.

  • what a boring stupid tune, joe hisashi trumps this

  • Haha that he does

  • What is hisashi, a Nintendo game?

  • "Chinese piano players are usually very good technically, but lack emotion and passion in their recitals."

I think she has alot of emotion in her way of playing :)

  • i agree with you ist like they dont feel emotion but there tecnic is awsome better than my but they just cant play the piece like it is ment to play maybe because all the composers are european

  • Chinese piano players are usually very good technically, but lack emotion and passion in their recitals. The pieces they play feel empty, without drama and essence. I'm not racist, I'm also Chinese. Compare Langlang to Horowitz and you will hear the difference.

  • i do believe that this player is korean if i'm not mistaken

  • yeah. i agree.

lee mi young is totally a korean name.

  • Just curious, but if you're "also Chinese," then how is it that you can't tell from her name that she's not Chinese? She's Korean, for the record, not that her ethnicity has anything to do with her playing.

  • loved it

  • i love this song i cant wait to learn it im only 12 years old but im not chineese, they are supposed to be really good apparently xxx beautiful

  • she's not chinese either, she's korean

  • Chinese arent particularly good at playing the piano, you just need to want it and maybe you need to be a bit musical, than you can play this piece soon too, just listen to your teacher, and learn step by step new techniques.

  • i don't think the song itself is that difficult....

    more the expression

  • Its like you dont have to move your fingers so quickly, its about how and this is the hardest thing in music. Always... this is the whole other level when you are good technicly you can try to go on this lvl

  • Beatiful piece, and beautiful played. I wish it had been recorded better though. :/

    (5 starts)

  • it brings me too..its beautiful piece

  • I can't understand why this nocturne bringme to other universe.

  • This is such a hauntingly beautiful piece. It reminds me of my visit to the impoverished people of Rumania who, despite their hardships, can still smile friendly and share bread with strangers.

  • This was not Chopin's last Nocturne! (It might appear last in some editions, because it was published in 1894, 45 years after the composer's death. Chopin didn't even call it a Nocturne, but "Lento con gran espressione". He composed it in 1830. If we consider this a Nocturne, it is the second, the first being the E minor, composed in 1827 but published in 1855, 6 years after the composer's death.

(His first published Nocturnes are Opus 9, composed in 1830-31, and published in 1833.

  • Sweet Mercy ! Wonderful!

  • c pa a paris c a rueil dan le conservatoire national de region xO

  • hey someone knows his theory its a good thing if u want to play like this :)

  • Nice. However, this is NOT Nocturne in F.

It is Nocturne in c# minor, Posthomus #20.

  • I think the "F." in the title is for "Frederick". :)

  • You might be right. In this case, I apologize for my misinterpretation :-)

  • i can even feel the performance, omg i can't hold back my tears anymore.

  • pancser :D

  • it's nocturne #20 in c sharp minor

    by chopin

  • To me, Yoon A In's performance is MUCH better...

  • chopin waltz

  • Does anyone know what song this is? The title and description aren't specific enough. :(

  • never mind, i found it. chopin nocturne #20. :) this is such a sexy song

  • chopin nocturne #20? i am trying to figure out the version exactly as well and all I have in my book is "Nocturne Op. 72, No.1", "Nocturne Op. 55, No.1", and "Nocturne (Posthumous)" - I'm a tad confused...

  • Mahay kosa tena an!!

  • Anybody know this chick? Looks like Korean...

  • (you should look at the description)

Lee mi-young (not very old :D)

  • She is so elegant and plays so well.....

Chopin would have been smiling at her from above the whole time when she played.

    Srew that biotch coughed!

  • shes hot! piano chicks r hot! they have talent and they don't just walk around wasting air and time. gymnast chicks are hot2!!

  • so cool!!! =D did u guys see the little girl playing it!?

  • BRAVO!!

  • Beautiful!

  • she's like piano goddess

  • Probably the best performance of the piece on youtube, beautiful... I play this too, but there are a lot of differences in my sheet music compared to what you play and now I don't know, what is the original version

  • The audio on this video is very crisp. This has to be 1 of my favorite piano songs.....

  • Music is such a langauge of gods.

  • I won't comment on the music, but she obviously lives or spends a lot of time in Paris because her style (i.e. fashion, hair) kicks butt!

    Just a girl-to-girl comment.

  • the person that coughed and go die. :P

  • I can't hear you........

  • Wzruszające,fantastyczne ,prawdziwie wielka MUZYKA.

  • made me cry

  • Beautiful ! nothing else to say

  • this interpretation is wonderful

absolutely the best on you tube

the others cant be compared t this. absolutely not.

and she even has a great posture

  • Quelle Grâce !! Magnifique !!

  • 우와 정말 잘했어요, c'est vraiment très beau ! 10/10 from France.

  • like it

  • That's one classy lady, my oh my oh my, she will make some fellow proud. :-)

  • I used to have to dance to this song at ballet... i hate ballet,(stopped) but this is a really nice piece!

  • oooo, i like the emotion she put into it!!! i'm going to play this for my recital, so it's good to hear what it should sound like.
